(Author's Note - Just real quick before I start. I'm just gonna give a bit of prior information of the main character who I shall name Rain for I don't wish to give my real name F.F.S.)
March 1st, 2020
It was on the 1st of March and I came back home from college to attend a good friend's funeral two days ago. I was planning to leave back for college on the 8th to take a week off from school to clear my head from the funeral. In the end, I couldn't believe my best friend, who I considered to be almost like a brother who I never had, from way back since I was 5 years old had passed away. We were good friends but, it seems the world had other wishes for us as we had to part despite only being 20 years old.
Yesterday, on Leap Day of February, my family took another day off work to cheer me up and buy me just a load of food and stuff to bring back to my dorms even though spring break was a few weeks after I went back. They bought around 6 cases of water that had 32 bottles per case. Around what could be like a month or two of food along with snacks that I could literally eat for as meals and still have enough last a week eating snacks as a meal somehow. Which was saying something cause as I could literally eat a few pounds of food in one sitting if I was hungry enough to do so. After being cheered up and bought a bunch of food to also cheer me up when I went back to college I could finally barely smile by the end of the day seeing them try so hard to cheer me up.
On the 1st of March, my parents and sister had to go back to work. But as I was still feeling somewhat down I stayed home instead of helping at my parents' self-owned store to read stories online, play games, relax, and calm down. Around 3:00 in the afternoon as I was walking out of the bathroom I happened to see what seemed to be a meteorite shower in the day through the living room window. This was definitely unusual but for me who had never actually seen this kind of sight, I was mesmerized by the seemingly beautiful sight of them streaking through the bright skies in the day. Then right as I thought it ended and I was about to turn around and return to my room to lay down again the world around me had suddenly turned started to turn pitch black, almost like when you get up to fast and get dizzy and your eyes blur out, and so before I could even react to what happened suddenly I passed out and fell unconscious to the floor.
Also, I just went with March 1st, since I felt like this started in spring but the outside was still somewhat chilly. Will probably increase chapter length later of other chapters, later on, didn't feel like trying to write the first day and the second when the apocalypse begins when it's 1:26 in the morning and I got class in the morning. Also, any thought's on how this is so far?
