He now had spent the last few days in the forge library. The library had a lot of different books. He originally thought that there would only be books about forging but he was very wrong. There were many books that talked about different types of metals that were in the cave, forging techniques, as well as a mining technique to get the metals, and the origins of the clan. He read a quarter of the books in a week and he decided to try one of the techniques he saw but he would need to choose the right metal for it as well.
He decided to go to the beginning of the first area of the cave and look for the right metal to use for the technique he wanted to try. He walked around the area as he looked through the different metals for a while. The way he checked the metals was by sending his chakra through the metals just like how the book told him when identifying the metals. He would channel his chakra through the metals and watch how it would react. Normal metals would just channel the chakra and have a pale glow. But if the metal was a unique one they would react in different ways. For example metals aligned with lightning like in the kiba swords when chakra was channeled through there would be faint sparks of lightning. Then if you use lightning release on the specific metal it would channel the element exceptionally well using less chakra from the wielder and creating major impact with that chakra. So he was looking for a wind metal and a lightning metal. Then with those two types of metals he would use one of the techniques he found which was called the Advanced Release Forge technique. This was a technique that would take two of the different elemental metals and combine them by using a specific advanced release to channel through both metals as you fused them. The reason that he wanted to practice this was that from what the book said it was a very difficult technique because you needed to multi task the complexities of forging with channeling chakra through two different metals. He decided he would practice with the lower grade metals to practice it as he could save the higher grade for improving his Kiba swords. Luckily the Kiba swords were made with very high grade lightning metal but he needed a high grade wind metal as well to combine with the swords.
He found a lower grade lightning metal and a lower grade wind metal as well to use the forging technique. He used the a pick axe the he found and also practiced a mining technique. He did ok with the mining technique to get all of the metal out but there were some issues that occured. After he got the metals out he went to the furnace and started to fuse them. But he had issues controlling the heat of the furnace and also channel his chakra into two different metals as they melt and fuse them. He did this constantly but to no success multiple times. So he decided to go back to the book to read more in detail of the technique. He found out how difficult the technique was to do as there were so many things to do. But he was determined as this was the best way to enhance his Kiba swords fundamentally. His father saw Riku struggling and decided to talk to him and give some encouraging words.
Hayato: I know this is hard but you are still young keep at it and you will eventually perfect it.
Riku: I know but there are so many things to do.
Hayato: I could assist you if you need.
Riku: I know but all that I could get help with is the temperature itself. The rest I need to do as the combination needs to be done by my chakra to be the best for me because all chakra is different from person to person and the forging needs to be done by me as well as I can form it to my liking.
Hayato: That is fair but might I suggest something.
Riku: Ok.
Hayato: Maybe study a technique that was used to form one elemental blade by itself in the respective elements for you wind and lightning. This will simplify things and enforce your fundamentals first.
Riku: That is a good idea I will try it.
He looked through the library and found the lightning and wind forging techniques. He red through them and started to understand the individual techniques. Reading this and the end outcome he also found that the Kiba swords by themselves with the lightning metal could be improved as he found some issues in the forging from the book as the book also lined some mistakes in forging the metal. So he started to practice the lightning tmetal technique first as he decided when he perfected the lighting metal he would reforge the Kiba swords.
