Chapter 20: Forest of Death Part 2
Seeing the three figures he decides to run from the place and reanalyze the situation as he now knew that he was outnumbered. He ran to nearby trees and attempted to hide but the three figures followed him and he realized he had no choice but to try to attack. He decides to engage the three figures and sees who it is. He sees that it is Gaara and his team. He realized that it was Temari that was doing wind release jutsu using her fan and he soon saw Kankuro starting to use his puppet. He summoned Asami in sword form and applied sever release like usual to the blade. He knew that he couldn't take them all on he needed to go to a place with less open area.
He soon arrived at a place that was very similar to the areas that he trained in with many trees. He ran up the trees and hid in the leaves as the group of Sunagakure shinobi walked into the area. He recognized that to have a chance he needed to separate kankuro and his puppet as well as deal with temari and her fan. He needed to deal with Gaara as well but from what he knew about Gaara he had no answers on how to deal with him so he decided that after he hinders the two of Kankuro and Temari he would run.
He soon saw that the group of three came down under the tree he was hiding in and he struck first he cut through Kankuro's chakra strings and cut the limbs of his puppet and then he went to Temari to attack her but he was hit with a gust of wind giving him cuts all over his body and pushing him away from them. Kankuro at that point took his puppet back in shock at how fast Riku dealt with the puppet. Gaara started to use sand to follow Riku the sand started t get close to RIku but he cut through the sand stopping the attack as he disrupted the flow of the chakra in the sand with the sword slice. He felt pain on his body from all of the cuts and he was bleeding a lot as well. He needed to finish this quickly.
He went back up into the leaves of the trees as the threes shinobi waited for his attack by forming a circle. But he did something that they didn't expect he cut many leaves off of the tree covering himself as he descended down on them as they were looking up all of them looked in different directions as they heard the sound of slashing through leaves causing them to all look in different directions. He appeared in the middle of all of them and attacked Temari but when they heard the attack they all reacted again turning to him and instead of injuring Temari like he planned this time he ended up cutting through her fan as sand was encasing his left arm squeezing it almost to the point of it breaking but after he got through the fan he used sever release on the sand around his arm and disrupted the chakra. He then attacked Gaara but as his attack was about to hit him sand came out of Gaara's gourd insanely fast and stopped the strike. This shocked Riku as this is the first time that his sword was stopped so easily by someone his age. He realized that he needed to get out of here. So he went back up the tree and cut many more leaves and threw down a smoke bomb down at the three shinobi and ran this time he got away as the combined shock from two of the members of the team couldn't track him as well as the lost of their line of sight to him.
Once he got away he hid in the leave of the high trees again in the top. He was still decently near the center of the forest but he wasn't going to attempt to go back to the center as he was to injured at this point to attempt to get there. He decided that he should rest for a bit and tend to his wounds most importantly his arm as it was crushed by the sand and he had to use sever release on his own skin. His father could do this easily using sever release on his hand but RIku could only project it onto something that he touched at this point as he couldn't control it well enough for such a release to be on his body.
He grabbed some of the nearby leaves quick and used some of the stems making strings to tie around the leaves all that he wanted to do was stop the bleeding. He also was channeling his chakra to that area of his body to stop the bleeding he did this to the smaller cuts too as they stopped bleeding. This technique was hardly enough to heal him as all it did was stop the bleeding not close the wound as this is all that he could do for now he wasn't a medical nin.
He soon got the bleeding to stop and he decided to check that he still had all of his things and that was when he saw he lost one of his scrolls he lost the heaven scroll. He started to panic look around if he dropped it nearby but he couldn't find it he then realized when Gaara attacked his arm and he was distracted that would have been the best opportunity for Gaara to take his scroll. He also thought that Gaara must be able to gather information well because during the written test when he saw Gaara on the questions he was always relaxed. He realized that he messed up he now needed to find another scroll but this time it would be a lot more difficult. He started to think that he should have used his unicorn chakra sheath on Gaara but he then thought about it and realized the fact he didn't reveal it was better as he would only be able to heavily damage one of them as well as the fact that he wasn't sure that it would damage Gaara as well. Luckily for him his arm wasn't as bad as he originally thought he reacted quickly prevented his arm from being broken and the main injury was the cuts on his skin from the sever release being used on his arm.
He called Asami again and started to look using spirit sight again trying to find a heaven scroll. This time he was being more icky about who he targets as he needed to go to people that are injured or fatigued to get the best chance. This was now more an option as they were into the exam for a while now where many people would be injured or fatigued.
Riku: *whisper* Gaara. Although I am not sure if I could win right now later I will definitely win.
