Chapter 2: 02 - GREED
GREED
My mom was sick since I was born..
I never had a childhood either...
I was always in the hospital with mom, even though she always says: "I'm Okay.. go and play with your friends"
Mom.. I really want to go out but I want to be with you and.... I don't really have any friends. I was always the outcast in school for being a weirdo and a nerd. So I always sat in a corner and play with some toys while the others are in the playground.
The teacher always say: "Why don't you play with your friends?" And I'll always answer "I don't have any friends with those people."
Umtil I grew up..
Now I'm already 20
I didn't finish my high school cause' I can't focus on studying and the one thing I hate was the bullies. So I dropped out. I currently work at a convenient store since I need to pay mom's hospital fees.
One day when I went to the hospital
While walking towards mom's room, a nurse tapped my shoulder and ask if we could talk near the reception counter. As we walk I could hear the voices that speaks inside my head, saying:
'Dont listen to her' 'Shes wasting your time' 'Go to your mom'
So I asked her when we got there.
"Do you need anything nurse...?"
"Nurse Jody" I nod my head. She continued
"We need your payment for your mom, Her heart cancer is getting worst and the medicine is getting expensive month by month. If you don't provide any month then... We'll have to discharge her."
I stopped my tracks. She turned around and said "The deadline is next week."
