Chapter 18: Brawl Between Beasts
"Finally... I've been sleeping for 2000 years. Now, it is time to take revenge on that fellow who dared to attack me back then!" A giant mouth appeared on a distant mountain. An elderly voice came from its mouth, following which, that mountain appeared next to Tang Peng. A hole was blasted through the surrounding mountains as a result.
"So, tell me, why have you awakened me from my sleep? Not only that, you also destroyed my- Oh. You're one of the devil beasts aren't you? In that case, there's no reason to try and talk to you." The mountain started to rumble, as an unimaginable reptile like beast started to crawl out from within the mountain. It covered half the mountain, and its scales were simply the mountain's colour.
Tang Peng's eyes turned towards the Mountain Walker. He stared with it using off the charts killing intent, which made even the Mountain Walker slightly afraid.
The Mountain Walker was amazed by the killing intent from Tang Peng. "It has been a long time since someone has struck fear into me. The aura of a merciless butcher... you better put up a good fight for me." The Mountain Walker primed itself for combat, surrounding itself with an external layer of Qi. No, it put on five layers of Qi!
Zhou Qing and the fellow elders, who were observing from the distance, were shocked. What kind of existence would the devil descendant would have to be for the Mountain Walker to be so cautious of it?
"As for you ants up there, you might as well serve as my source of sustenance. I have not had a good meal for a long time." The Mountain Walker suddenly stretched out one of its limb, grabbing and crushing Zhou Qing, along with the rest of the elders.
"Blood Bomb Technique!" "Dragon Transmogrification!" "Eighteen Strokes of Dragon Sealing!" All the elders immediately used up their lifespan to execute their ultimate skills. Grey hair began to appear on their head, as various types of Grandmaster Qi techniques started to batter the Mountain Walker.
Even though those were supreme Grandmaster Qi techniques that used up the lifespan, it could only make some scratches on the first layer of the Mountain Walker. Their cultivation base was not enough to release the true strength of the profound Grandmaster Qi techniques.
The Mountain Walker tightened its grip, and they all exploded into a blood mist at the same time. Under the suppression of the Mountain Walker's Qi, none of them could even execute a basic escape technique. The Mountain Walker absorbed the Rotating Cores that emerged from the blood mist and the astral souls that were inside, making it shiver in delight.
However, one person resisted under the Mountain Walker's strength. It was none other than Zhou Qing, who had earlier utilised the Dragon Transmogrification Qi technique. Even though the left half of his body was crushed, he was still alive, as he slipped through the Mountain Walker's grasp.
"You have killed all my fellow elders, Mountain Walker. My only purpose is to guard the Dragonic Sect. With you and the devil descendant, it is not possible for them to live in properly! Die!" Even as Zhou Qing was falling through the air with only one half of his body, he still had energy to yell at both Tang Peng and the Mountain Walker.
Zhou Qing's other half started to grow back, but there was a distinct change to his appearance. There were green scales growing on top of his skin, while his eyes were glowing in an emerald green. His body completely regenerated as he slammed onto the ground with a massive force.
"Primordial blood of the original Green Dragon? Not bad for sustenance. After all, a powered up ant will still be an ant." The Mountain Walker raised its massive claw and swung it at Zhou Qing, planning to finish him off.
However, a domineering aura was released from Zhou Qing, which turned into the form of a green spear. It attacked the Mountain Walker's defences on its claw, breaking through all the five layers of Qi and cutting off a nail on the claw. The spear returned to Zhou Qing's claw on the left half of his body.
"Grrr! To think that you have also awakened your thin Green Dragon bloodline! However, you really look appetising now. The perfect sacrifice for me!" The Mountain Walker licked its lips, as it merged back into the mountain. It really had to use its full powers this time, as it was facing both Tang Peng and Zhou Qing.
While all of this happened, Tang Peng's body started to become bulkier, while the tail on his back split 6 times to become thicker versions of themselves. Horns made of Yin Qi immediately sprouted from his forehead, while the special symbols on his arm emitted a sanguine colour. If before was the normal Grudge Yin Form, then this could be said to be the ultimate Grudge Yin Form. Or, in Zhou Qing's perception, a devil form.
The three of them started to stare at each other. To be more precise, it was more of Tang Peng and Zhou Qing staring at each other, since the other party was a mountain.
Tang Peng could not wait anymore, and a screeching voice came out from his mouth. "DIE!" Six beams lit up from his tails, three for the Mountain Walker and three for Zhou Qing. The space between his horns also created a powerful Yin energy charge, which was shot towards Mountain Walker.
"Even though you have great power, your brain is made from mush. You will never be able to hit me!" Mountain Walker shifted the mountain, creating afterimages of the mountain itself. It slammed towards Zhou Qing, who spit out blood after getting hit. His body had not developed to the level to which he could tolerate a mountain at high speed hitting him.
"Can you not be so shameless? Shouldn't the devil descendant be more dangerous to you? Why did you hit me first?" Zhou Qing was furious, and the spear in his hand split into many more pieces, which was propelled at the Mountain Walker. It came from every direction, so the Mountain Walker could not avoid it. Some pieces of the spear also flew at the beams, acting as the defences.
"Go and die already! Become my source of power!" The mountain was affected by many explosions from the green spear pieces. The Mountain Walker could not tolerate it anymore, and started to emerge from the mountain. It had used too much of its Qi to protect the mountain, so it decided to cut its loss and come out.
The Mountain Walker could now only keep up one layer of Qi defence. For the first time in its life, it experienced true fear. With the continued attacks of the awakened Green Dragon cultivator and the devil descendant, the possibility of it dying was immensely high!
Even if it was unbefitting of a powerful monster like it to act like a coward, the most important thing was for it to survive. It could take revenge at anytime it wanted. There was no need for it to stay here and fight with these enemies.
When Mountain Walker was contemplating a way out, Tang Peng suddenly dashed forward, using the huge claws he had developed to deliver a flurry of swipes at Zhou Qing's face.
"Swish!" Zhou Qing tried to raise his spear against Tang Peng's attacks, but it was futile. The swipes left deep marks on Zhou Qing's scales and eyes, leaving him blinded in one eye. The Yin Qi completely suppressed the recovery of the Green Dragon bloodline, making Zhou Qing worried.
The only way he could possibly defeat the devil descendant now, was if he was willing to partner up with the Mountain Walker, killer of the sect's elders. It was a dangerous situation for him. If he was dead, that would be no way he could protect his sect.
With great hesitation, he yelled out, "Mountain Walker! I will make a compromise with you for now. We will focus on attacking the devil descendant first!"
