A few days have passed by since my parents have ever asked me about my life. Seriously, they'll never get it, so they should really stay out of it. My siblings seem to have come to an agreement and Lilith finally allowed Kyle to draw with her crayons. Together, they drew things like dragons, cars, and pizzas. Their, best creation was a portrait of the whole family while also including Alisa, my best friend. She comes over a ton of times to the point that she is like family. Now I'm sitting on the couch, having my phone on my hand. "27 missed phone calls from... Alissa." I whispered to myself. "Huh, of course. Can't leave her alone for even an hour before she starts getting lonely."
Another call pops up, and I quickly answer it— knowing it would be BF on the other end.
"AYOOO, SISSY!" Alissa shouts out to where my sensitive ears started crying back.
"The heck, Alissa?!" I exhaled my breath that I had unknowingly kept in.
"Sorry, you answered my call after the 100th time, so I got excited. Especially since I've some GREAT news!" Alissa squeals before she collects herself.
"Spit it out..." Sighing, I sunk down into the couch as I prepare for the nonsense that was about to sprout out of my friend's mouth.
"Y'know what time of month it is! No, not that. Imma get my party on at the 'Plath.' Everyone's goin' girl, you gotta join!" She exclaimed while she makes some ruffling noises at the other end.
"Um no, and what are you doing right now? Sounds like you're keeping an animal in there..." My ears were super enhanced, so I could immediately tell that she was just rummaging through her clothes probably looking for the best outfit to wear at the little party. But, I'm supposed to keep all this a secret, so it seemed better to not say anything then. Alissa was also a very clever gal when she actually used her brain for once.
"Oh just picking out some clothes for me and you. Really hope you can fit into my outfits. I'm a little on the plumper side." Alissa kept going on, ignoring my small protests of not going.
"Come on girly, this is finally your chance to let loose of that strict schedule and finally be able to go and have some fun. Pretty sure your lovely parents won't mind." I could sense her mouth twisting up into a smirk. She thought she had already gotten me and just wanted to tease me, but I won't let her. I'm going to stay strong!
"Fine, I'll be going. I know my parents are going to let me, I'm their golden child after all." I mentally praised myself.
"Fufu, too easy." Even though I was busy mentally and physically praising myself, I could still pick up that mumbled sentence. But, I wasn't able to comprehend it since I was too busy cheering to myself, and I just continued on with my self compliments.
"K, sissy! Come over ASAP. The party starts at 6!" Alissa says as she ended the call.
Wait— did I just? Ducking duck...
[Time Skip]
My parents had somehow agreed to let me go to the party, and I groaned from that fact. I am now jumping on top off roofs to get to Alissa's house. She wasn't too far: only a few streets away. When I got there, her window was already open. I could hop in there, but she'll think I'm weird. Wait, why would she even let it open? Maybe to shout out that she's coming when I ring the bell. Oh, also to check if it's me? Whatever, this neighborhood is known for its good reputation. There are cameras literally everywhere inside the house. Good thing they're not outside besides near the procurement and back, or I would've been toast.
After hopping down, I ring the doorbell as I let out a yawn. I hadn't gotten much sleep last night, so now I have another reason to the gigantic list of reasons to why I shouldn't have agreed to this. As I expected, Alissa yelled out that she was coming after making sure it was me. It only took 20 seconds for her to come here. This is a pretty big deal as her house is big and complicated. She was pretty agile and fast for a normal human girl. If I didn't have my awesome super powers, maybe she'd be able to catch up to me? I'm probably nothing without my magic.
Taking me out of my inner monologue, Alissa grabs my left arm and speeds towards her room. I'm jungshook by her speed, but I still keep up easily.
(Maddie's POV)
"Okay, I tried my best to find outfits that would suit you as I'm pretty sure you don't have a single dress in your wardrobe." Alissa gleefully states while she goes to pull out some of said outfits. She hadn't noticed, but I slightly winced at those hurtful comments. 'I do have dresses though...'
"Yeah, but they're just some daily, childish outfits like overalls." Alissa answered my question that I kept inside my head.
"How'd you—"
"Because you're like an open book with gigantic letters, fufu."
Ugh, why must she have to know me so well? Though I'm proud, it's sometimes a hassle. What if she somehow finds out my secret.
"Anyhow, let's get you into some of these fabulous outfits and put on some makeup!"
"MAKEUP!? Nope! I promised mom that I'd do that at the age of 50! I'm not going to go around and break that promise." I shouted out from the fear of my mother finding out. If she were to see any bit of makeup leftover, I could be on my deathbed in a matter of seconds.
"Come on, not 50! Why must you do this to me, sissy?" Alissa let out an exasperated sigh while pouting obnoxiously.
"As I have already told you, N-O!" I huffed out and poured while turning my head. Alissa seems to have accepted my decision and went ahead to pick up the outfits she planned for me to wear.
[TS]
After a half an hour of putting on outfits, choosing which fit best, and fixing ourselves up—no makeup was included in this matter— we finally went to the party with Alissa taking us in her car. That's correct, my friend has a car, and I don't. It might sound surprising, but if you give it some thought, you're little brain might be able to figure it out! [A/N: Cringing so incredibly hard, but I'm too lazy to change any of this]
Once we got to the place where the party was taking place, I couldn't help but gasp at the magnificent sight. A gigantic mansion with light shimmering through every corner, teenagers chatting and drinking with their friends, and songs that would've bursted my ears had I not toned my senses done a few notches. I haven't even reached the inside, yet I could already tell what I've gone myself into. Though, when I got inside, I was shocked by the huge amount of food coming from the large buffet. My eyes almost came out of my sockets and my mouth immediately drooled from the sight.
"No way... So much food! You could've just told me about this, and I'd be all for it!" I exclaimed while looking back-n-forth towards the food and Alissa.
"If I had told you, it wouldn't be much of a win in my part. Way too easy," she mumbled the last part, so I wasn't able to hear.[A/N: Her senses are still toned down by a lot, so her ear drums wouldn't explode from the music(this is not an exaggeration).]
"Ay, Alissa you're here!" A random girl approached us with a few drinks in her hand. OK, isn't it illegal at this age to be drinking? Shouldn't I stop this? Nah, not much of a hazard for me to get involved in. Am I being a bad superhero for this? I hope not.
"Oh! Girl, let me introduce you to my long-lost sister, Madlad!" Alissa gleefully said while I mentally slapped my forehead. For every single time Alissa greeted me to her friend, she always used that silly nickname. I couldn't handle the embarrassment and looked down with a flushed face.
"Alissa!" I whisper-shouted as I shut my eyes and take deep breaths and looked straight up to the random girl with a smile.
"Hah, yes. My name is Maddie. I'm a very good friend of Alissa." I said while glaring a bit at Alissa who kept cheekily smiling.
"Hm, I also go through the same thing with this darn child," the girl claimed and chuckled. "I'm her aunt, one of the contributors to this party."
