"Since this young lad has enough guts to come there with such a weak power, this mighty one will allow you to pick one of the treasure and leave that place safely." The king of Leaf Forest said, his eyes fixed on Ye Qiu.
The appearance of the demonic 9-stars saber-tooth was terrifying, a huge 3-meter beast, whose eyes were bright red. Anyone would have already run away if they were to see him, but it was not the case for Ye Qiu. Instead of running away, he was approaching him.
With a smile, Ye Qiu faintly said, "Should I call you a demonic beast or a celestial beast, king of Leaf Forest?"
The king of Leaf Forest was surprised. Not only Ye Qiu was not overwhelmed by his appearance, but he also knew his hidden identity. He could not help but ask: "Little child, who are you? Why did you mention me, being a celestial beast?"
When Ye Qiu was close enough, in a distance where the demonic 9-stars saber-tooth could attack him, he halted his steps.
"I also know that you are from The Heaven Realm and that you have a grudge against the Jade Emperor. We both have the same objective, which is to return there and assert our vengeance."
Ye Qiu's eyes were as clear as water and in the depth of his eyes, unfathomable, the king of Leaf Forest could not see through it. And even though he was, now, half-convinced by his words, the king of Leaf Forest still asked,
"How do you intend to return to The Heaven Realm?"
There were only two ways to return to there, one was to be personally invited by the Jade Emperor, the second was to have the strength to open a portal to go there, and Ye Qiu did not have both of the required conditions.
"Right now, I can't return, not yet. But trust me, once I get stronger, I'll be able to open the portal."
The demonic 9-stars saber-tooth sneered at his reply.
"By the time you get enough strength, chickens will be able to fly on the sky and reach The Heaven Realm."
Ye Qiu did not take the latter's offensive reply but he summoned the Book of Life, appearing out of nowhere.
"I, Ye Qiu swear on my name and my bloodline to bring you to The Heaven Realm in less than a 1,000 years. If I can not do that, then I'll give you my body."
The beast looked at the Book of Life, frowning. He had never expected this young child to possess a treasure from The Heaven Realm which confirmed his identity as an Immortal. But even so, it was not enough for him to trust him.
"What is your condition to bring me there? A free meal doesn't exist in this world."
The king of Leaf Forest had been living for more than thousands of millenary. He was smart enough to know that there was always a condition for everything and as long as it benefits both, he did not mind accepting his proposal.
"This book is called the "Book of Life". As long as you accept to become my summoning beast, I can grant you your wish to return to The Heaven Realm. You don't need to protect me or anything, I just need to borrow your power." Ye Qiu honestly said.
"Muhaha, you are an interesting lad. I shall accept your humble request!"
The demonic beast did not expect this reply from Ye Qiu. He had suspected him to form a blood-and-life contract, but this was not the case, which meant that he could be freed as long as he returned to The Heaven Realm.
"Book of Life, [Absorb]!"
Enunciating the key-word, the Book of Life illuminated as it started to turn its page in a fast sequence without stopping. A short moment later, in less than a few breaths of time, the king of the forest got absorbed by the Book of Life.
Thus, Ye Qiu obtained a new power that could back him up in a critical situation. He then decided to take all the treasures within the cavern before entering the [Book Realm].
