Chapter 53: The Power of Grayskull in Marvel
Now, before we begin, let's address something: No dead memes in my comments, it has been far too long a time since the He-Man Song was funny. We clear? Good. I guess I don't have to tell you what this idea will be about, since I just inferred it with that reference. That's right, we are talking about the powers of He-Man in Marvel, and more importantly how we can make an OP character with them.
So, first order of business is to establish his power-set and the usefulness of his main weapon. Some of his feats of strength include pushing a moon, throwing the entirety of Castle Grayskull out of another dimension, shattering his universe's strongest metal, Photanium(Which might be Comparable to Uru), and, as a testament to his durability, fought against Pre-Crisis Superman. He is fast enough to both run on water and create tornadoes, and can move his hands so quickly the heat generated can create glass. At this point, we can tell that He-Man is pretty powerful, but what about the Power Sword? Well, the sword by itself is pretty boring, its only perks are its near-indestructibility and the fact it is able to reflect energy-based projectiles back to their source. But, we can spice it up by giving it a few more abilities. We could give it a semi-sentience to give it similarities to Mjolnir, allowing it fly to return to its user as well as preventing others from wielding it. We could also have it enhanced by Asgardian Magic, granting it various magical powers, such as energy beams, barrier projection, and energy absorption. With these additional abilities, the Power Sword becomes much more of an asset in the Marvel Universe.
Now, you may be asking how the MC would get to Asgard to get the Sword enchanted. Well, I wanted the MC to start off as an Asgardian, instead of being a Human. There are a couple reasons why: One, because it would be easier to explain the attire, and two, because I wanted to put forth a theory, or rather my own spin on He-Man's powers. I think that Grayskull enhancement will differ depending on the person. Sure, if your average human got the Power, he'd gain the godly strength, but what if an Asgardian, a physically superior being, got them? His abilities would sky-rocket past anything the original He-Man could do. Doesn't that make for an OP main character? Oh yeah, the attire can be changed to whatever you want, just as long as the harness stays, since it gives a 10x boost to He-Man's already immense strength.
So, now let's talk about the MC's rebirth, as I'm not expecting you to use the original He-Man as a protagonist. You know the song and dance by now, fan dies, gets wishes, destroys plot-lines. Some of you may ask where Castle Grayskull is, since it is the source of the Powers. I was thinking of it becoming something similar to the Rock of Eternity, the Source of all Magic in DC. It would exist between realms, with only the wielder of the Power Sword able to access it, making it the MC's main base. Since it would take a similar role to the Rock of Eternity, it would be a place dense with energy, a perfect target for possible villains to siphon. Oh, as an addition, you don't have to make the MC do the whole "By the Power of Grayskull" thing.
