The Heroic Villain

"Hey! Hey!" I grinned, jumping from one thread to another as I avoided another blast of ice coming towards me. "You'll never be able to catch me like that, you know, He-ro-san~"

Bam!

A giant icicle shot past, nearly slicing me in half but I managed to twist my body just in time to avoid it, pushing off the thread below me and angled my body, using the wall to launch myself towards Todoroki, rocketing towards him in an extremely fast speed.

With that speed, Todoroki was unable to react on time and just stood in place, allowing me to do whatever I wanted.

Tap.

Todoroki's eyes followed his opponent's movements but his body was unable to react at all. All he could do was watch as the enemy tapped the back of his neck as he passed him.

"Tsk, tsk." I clicked my tongue in disapproval. "That's no good, hero-san~... Within one minute, I already tapped you five times! That means... In a real combat situation..."

Todoroki stared with wide eyes as the villain mocked him from above, standing on seemingly indestructible threads.

"I could've killed you five times over~"

...

"Todoroki gave up on finding the nuclear weapon..?"

"He had no choice. Looking for it would take too much time! He can only try to capture Yamori now."

"It's like they're on a whole different league from us... It's scary..."

"Yamori could've just captured him already! Doing this much... It's just torturing him!"

"I'm not even sure if I could fight off Todoroki, and Yamori is easily toying with him like that!"

'Yamori shonen... From the beginning, I've never really gotten to know him well, apart from what Midoriya shonen spoke about... Even though I've trained him for quite some time already. I know the circumstance about his parents and his sister but... Do I really know him?' All Might thought to himself deeply. 'Perhaps this is the real him... Is this his real personality? The real him that he forcefully repressed in order to become a hero?'

...

"I'm here! And then, I'm not!" Todoroki dashed in between threads, freezing them in order to avoid injuring himself whilst trying to catch his enemy's tail.

"Shoji, I need back-up." Todoroki was hesitant but finally decided to call for help. Unfortunately, the other side was completely silent, making him furrow his brows. "Shoji?"

"Calling your friend, hero?" From the corner of his eye, he saw a flash of crimson but, when he turned towards it, it immediately disappeared, as if it were never there. "You shouldn't bother anymore."

"He's been taken care of already!"

"Hahaha~ Hahaha!" Eerie laughter followed him everywhere. Above him, beside him, behind him, in front of him. It sounded like it was extremely near yet distant at the same time. He spun around seemingly in circles, messing up his sense of direction and making him unbelievably frustrated. "What? Did you really think I was doing everything alone? I'm not as overconfident as you to think that I could handle everything on my own~"

"Where are you?!" Finally, he couldn't bear it any longer and shouted, his teeth gnashing together.

"Right here~" This time, he was sure that the voice came from behind him and he quickly spun around, catching sight of his opponent.

"You found me~" The villain snickered, standing still. "Now, all that's left is to catch me~"

...

"Ha.. Ha..." Ojiro panted and tried to catch his breath, laying on the ground, not minding the dirt that stuck on his sweat-filled costume. "I did it..."

Nearby, Shoji sat on the ground, similarly tired. On one of his extra limbs, a white tape dangled freely, signaling his capture.

Ojiro gritted his teeth and raised his fist towards the sky victoriously. After a long time of struggling and fighting against Shoji, using every trick and technique he knew, he finally climbed out on top.

"Yamori-kun... I did it!" Ojiro said, his words so quiet that it was barely a whisper. "The target... has been captured!"

"Good work. Now let me handle the rest." The muffled voice that reached his ears brought him reassurance, making his tensed nerves finally relax.

Right, his job is complete... Now, it's up to his partner.

It's just...

...

"This is bad! The hero team is already down to only one member!"

"There's less than three minutes left!"

"Come on, hero!" I laughed loudly and jumped down from the threads, spreading my arms wide. "Catch me!"

"Or is it that..." I spoke slowly, striding towards Todoroki and reaching towards his frostbitten face. "You're already unable to? I've been keeping track of the amount of ice you've emitted... Like this, you should be unable to produce any more, right?"

Fwooooosssshhhh!!!

Suddenly, he raised his left hand and a gush of heated air rushed towards me, pushing me back and causing me to take cover among the threads above. "...Oh? Will he use his left side?"

With the heat he produced, the ice began to melt, slowly flooding the entire floor, some of it dripping downwards to the lower floors.

"This is... steam?" Kaminari was surprised that Todoroki would choose to use this move given the situation he was in.

"He's melting the ice?!" Sero exclaimed in astonishment.

"I'm not sure if that is a good idea to do right now..." Tsuyu commented, doubting Todoroki's choice of action.

"Maybe he's giving up?" Ashido felt unsure.

"...No. He is-" Kirishima held his breath, waiting for what would happen next.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Suddenly, the ice that formed on the ceiling began to melt, dripping downwards and, soon, my whole costume was soaked, the cloak I wore even sticking to my body tightly, making it difficult to move as agilely as before.

"This...?" I tried to climb upwards through the threads but, I misjudged how slippery the threads became after the ice melted and slipped, falling towards the floor. Fortunately, I managed to catch myself on time and landed safely.

Plop. Splosh!

I tried to move around but noticed that the ice that melted and flooded the corridors began to turn into steam that hindered my vision.

"What..?" I glanced around, noticing that Todoroki had somehow disappeared from my sight.

He's gone!

This... wasn't part of the plan...

Fwoosh! Bang!

Suddenly, from behind me, I heard the sound of rapid movement and, following my instinct, I immediately dodged to the side.

I soon realized that I was correct to follow it as a split second later, a giant icicle appeared from where I used to stand.

Some distance away from me, Todoroki stood, clutching his right arm which was still numb from the cold, breathing raggedly.

Seeing his appearance, I couldn't help but grin widely. "So you can put up a fight!"

Todoroki let out an exasperated breath. "You talk too much."

Somehow, his cold response made me burst out laughing. "Haha! Come then, Hero!"

"Let's play!"

With those words, I charged towards him, pulling my threads back since I knew that they were already useless and swung hard.

Todoroki dodged and stepped back quickly, his right foot stepping harshly on the wet ground, making it obvious what he was about to do.

I immediately stuck my strings into the ceiling and leaped up, just in time to avoid the ice which froze the water on the floor.

That was close!

I swung myself towards his head, my legs positioned to kick him but, at the last moment, he threw himself to the side and rolled away, causing my attack to miss.

"Tch. Shouldn't you be getting tired by now?" I muttered to myself as I quickly skidded on the floor and changed direction, leaping to the side to escape his line of sight. "In any case, I need to end this quick."

Pulling out a white tape from my pocket, I got ready to ambush him from behind.

"The tape!" Ashido exclaimed.

"So, it's finally coming to end..." Sero sighed in relief.

"You shouldn't come to a decision too quickly." Yaoyorozu suggested as she stared intently at the monitors.

Shik. Splash!

Shit!

With the floor riddled with puddles, it was inevitable to step on a few. The bad thing was, it exposed my location.

"Got you." Todoroki twisted around quickly, his right hand aimed towards me. With the very short distance between us, I didn't have enough room to dodge.

Is this... how I would lose..?

In the end, I was still overconfident...

Whack!

"...huh?" Upon seeing a familiar back in front of me, I was momentarily stunned. "Ojiro-kun..? Why-"

During the time I was almost blasted with ice, Ojiro-kun had somehow managed to get in front of me and whacked Todoroki's hand away with his tail.

"I'm really sorry, Yamori-kun... But... As I thought..." Ojiro-kun glanced at me with an apologetic expression. "It just doesn't sit well with me, knowing that you were handling all the hard work by yourself."

"Please rely on me as well!"

This is bad...

Ojiro-kun... You're acting really awesome!

If it's like this then, I'd start to feel embarrassed, you know!

I couldn't help but smile wryly. "Alright. I got it. Sorry I wasted too much time."

...

Tap! Tap!

Todoroki stumbled into a room, breathing heavily. For a while, his opponents shouldn't be able to catch up to him.

Confident that the wall of ice could at least stall them for some time, he leaned against a wall, looking around the room to try and come up with a plan that would let him win in less than two minutes.

Suddenly, something hanging from the ceiling at the corner of the room caught his eye.

"This is... the target?"

During their battle earlier, Todoroki noticed that his opponent had retracted his strings and, with it, the cocoons in the ceiling also disappeared.

Seeing that only this one cocoon was left, it meant that this was most likely hiding the nuclear weapon in it.

"That's right! I don't have to beat them." Todoroki suddenly came to a realization. "I just need to secure the target."

He sighed. Fortunately, he had entered this room and blockaded the door.

With that, he created a wall of ice underneath his feet and elevated himself towards the dangling cocoon, immediately working on prying away the threads.

...

"Hah..." As I felt a soft tingling from the tiny strings that dangled from my wrists, a grin slowly began to form on my lips. "He took the bait."

"The empty fortress was a success."

I looked at the intimidating wall of ice that blocked our path gleefully.

"Then, shall we give him a taste of our Trojan Horse?"

...

Crack! Bang!

Just as Todoroki was about to pry open the threads, a loud sound attracted his attention and, turning to look, he noticed a large crack on the ice wall.

Shh! Fwoosh!

Suddenly, the threads on the cocoon in front of him unraveled all at once and spread wide, coming alive.

"This!" Before he could react, the threads tangled him up, rendering him immobile.

"Nn!! Just a little..." Despite being unable to move his body, he still stretched his arm forwards.

It's right in front of him! The target was so near!

But, no matter how much he reached, the target still remained out of reach by a few inches.

Bang!

Just as he was trying to quickly untangle himself, a loud sound was once again heard and with it, a figure in a dirtied white costume burst through the wall of ice, surrounded by stray pieces of broken ice.

Before Todoroki could realize what was happening, that figure in white rushed towards him and, the next thing he knew, there was a white tape wrapped on his forehead.

...

"This is..."

"It can't be, right?!"

"Todoroki-kun... He was so close..."

I slowly removed my mask and smiled, the adrenaline beginning to wear off and the fatigue started to catch up.

Ah... I overdid myself today... It'll probably take a toll on my body later.

But, in any case...

"Villain Team... Wins!"

This time, the MVP should be Ojiro-kun... He really did shine today.
