Let Me Show You

Ah...

Supposedly, I have already expected it to happen.

I already expected it... but...

I have been paired with Ojiro Mashirao. The guy with a tail for a quirk.

I don't mean that as a bad thing. In fact, I don't really care who I'm paired with but... the bad thing is who our opponents would be.

That's right.

Since I have replaced Hagakure-san's existence in this class, according to the anime, our opponents would be the #1 Problematic childhood hero, Todoroki Shoto (half-cold, half-hot) and his partner, the often forgotten characters crew member, Shoji Mezo (dupli-arms).

This would be troublesome. I actually have to use my brain for this one.

Of course, I don't really have to win but, purposely losing leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

My gamer side refuses to do something like that.

Maybe I could plan the course of action with Ojiro-kun...

As of now, we were in the basement of the target building, watching the first two teams, A and D, as they confronted each other. The members of the teams, A (hero team) consisting of Izuku and Uraraka and, D (villain team) consisting of Bakugo and Iida, soon had their first battle.

Starting with Bakugo's sudden ambush which pushed Izuku to retaliate and separate from Uraraka; both of them heading towards two different directions. Since we could only watch but not hear what was happening, many students began to chat with each other in confusion.

"That's low, Bakugo! Sneak attacks are so unmanly!" Kirishima shouted.

"Yet, they are a valid strategy. This is practical experience!" All Might explained.

"That Midori sure can dodge!" Ashido commented excitedly.

In this test, two teams were set up against each other with one team being either a hero team or a villain team. The villains will be hiding a nuclear weapon in their hideout, which was the target building, and the heroes will have to go in and take care of it.

The goal for this test is for the villains to either capture the heroes or protect the weapon until the time is up and, the heroes would have to capture the villains before the time limit or secure the weapon.

It was a very simple setting that anyone could understand but, the actual process was much more difficult. That is why, we need to have our own strategy.

Bang!

In the monitors, Bakugo was shown releasing an explosion from his hands with Izuku barely managing to dodge.

"He's amazing! Going toe to toe with the person who took second place without using his quirk!"

"Against the guy with the highest villain points in the entrance exam!"

I fiddled with the mask which covered my face in deep thoughts.

Oh, speaking of the mask, it was something that Izuku gifted to me just a few minutes ago.

"Kaito! Here." Izuku handed a thin, silver object to me.

"...This is?" I had just exited the tunnel with Kirishima and this was the first sight that greeted me.

"Hey! Isn't that a mask! It looks hella cool, bro!" Kirishima suddenly said, staring at the mask.

"Yeah, my mom bought it by chance and told me to give it to Kaito, saying that it reminded her of him at first sight." Izuku scratched the back of his neck and smiled helplessly.

"Oh, I see." I nodded in understanding, knowing how fussy his mom could be at times since I had visited his house a number of times in the past. "Tell her I said thanks."

I smiled and took the mask which looked like a smiling jester.

"Bro, you should wear it! I bet it looks cool on you." Kirishima grinned.

"Alright. I got it." I chuckled and tentatively wore it under the two pairs of anticipating eyes. "How is it."

"It really suits you!" Izuku exclaimed loudly.

"Yeah, bro! It really matches your costume!" Kirishima followed.

... And that is how this addition to my costume came to be. Though, I'm really starting to like this mask.

"He's really angry... It's kinda scary." Kaminari shuddered, staring at the monitor as Bakugo chased after Izuku in rage.

"You're Yamori-kun, right?" Just as I was thinking of going to Ojiro-kun to consult about our strategy, he already beat me to it.

"Yeah. You're Ojiro-kun, yes?" I asked back, pretending to not know him.

"That's me." He nodded. "With regards to our actions later on, I think it would be wise for us to form our strategies earlier."

"...Ojiro-kun, it's fine to use informal speech."

"Oh! I'm terribly sorry! I seem to have done it unconsciously." He said apologetically, still speaking formally. "It's just that... your mask looks very intimidating."

"Oh... The mask..?" Slowly, a wide grin began to form on my lips but, as I was still wearing the mask, no one saw it.

What a cute reaction~

Maybe I should wear this mask often~

The whole class shivered, suddenly feeling cold.

Ashido Mina, "Uwah! Why did it suddenly feel colder?"

Kaminari Denki, "F-freezing! Is the A/C broken?"

Tokoyami Fumikage, "I sense evil intentions."

...

"With that, our strategy for if we are chosen to be the hero team is mostly covered but, what if we become the villain team?" Ojiro asked, furrowing his brows in deep thoughts.

"Then, that would be easier." I grinned. "Have you heard of the Trojan horse? Or the Empty Fortress strategy?"

"If I'm correct, the Trojan horse was a giant wooden horse that was gifted by an army in the ancient times to their enemies. Unknown to the enemies, the horse actually carried the army in it, which then, attacked from the inside when they let down their guard." Ojiro recalled. "And the Empty Fortress is- wait... are we going to use that?!"

"You catch on quick." I gave a thumbs up. "Alright we'll do it this way..."

"Mm... I see... Oh!" As we were whispering to each other, Ojiro let out quiet sounds of agreement. "That's really black-hearted! I'm not sure I could..."

"I suggest you temporarily forget whatever conviction you have for this test if we ever play as villains." I sincerely adviced. "All Might himself said that those acting as villains should adopt the mindset of real villains. This is also part of the test."

"...I suppose you're right." He answered hesitantly.

...

"Hero team... WIIINNNSSSS!!!"

In the end, I didn't manage to watch the first match clearly since we were too caught up in coming up with our own strategy.

The next thing I knew, the building began to shake erratically and, a few minutes later, Izuku was being carried out on a stretcher.

Since it took a whole episode in the anime, it felt strange knowing that the time limit was only 15 minutes.

"What the hell is this..."

"The losing team is nearly unscathed... while the winners are down for the count..."

"They lost the battle... But won the war, so to speak."

"It's just training though."

Uwah! He looks so depressed, it's creepy!

I felt inwardly conflicted after seeing Bakugo not even having the energy to glare at me. Fortunately, he'll go back to normal tomorrow or else I'd be stuck with this disgusting feeling.

Who knew that being yelled at by Bakugo constantly would grow on me. Now, I kinda miss it.

...Did I unknowingly develop Stockholm syndrome..? Or is it some form of masochism?

"Well, I'd say..." All Might began to speak, causing the class to quiet down. "The MVP of this battle was Iida-kun!"

"Whaa?!" Iida exclaimed in surprise.

"Not Ochaco or Midoriya? Even though they won?" Tsuyu asked.

"I wonder why? Does anyone know?" All Might asked for the class's opinion.

"Yes." Yaoyorozu raised her hand and answered. "It's because Iida-kun was the one who adapted the most to the scenario."

"From what I saw, Bakugo's every action... was motivated by an obvious personal grudge. And, as you mentioned before, sensei, using destructive attacks indoors is very foolish. Midoriya-kun's performance suffered from the same results. Uraraka lost focus halfway through, causing her to expose her location, and her final attack was too reckless." Yaoyorozu explained in detail, causing Bakugo's already dark expression to darken even further. Uraraka herself looked to be in self-reflection.

"Such an attack would be unthinkable if the nuclear weapon were real. But Iida-kun formed an actual counter strategy... and he envisioned what an actual struggle would look like. He was only a little too late in reacting in the end. The hero team only won because this was a training excercise with exploitable constrains."

...That explanation is needlessly long and detailed. Mm... Let's leave situations like this to her.

She really is the number 1 recommended student, Yaoyorozu Momo. If it's her, I actually don't mind losing a few times since she has the actual capabilities to win it.

Then, it was time for us to show our abilities next. As expected, Team I, consisting of me and Ojiro-kun, were chosen as the villains, going against hero team B, consisting of Todoroki and Shoji.

Hah...

I sighed helplessly and patted Iida-kun's shoulder as I passed beside him. "You did your best, trying to imitate a villain but, you've probably never seen a real nasty villain before, right?"

"I-I... Huh?" Iida was confused.

"Don't worry. I'll show you what a real villain looks like." Leaving those words behind, I strode off towards the next target building with Ojiro-kun.
