Chapter 2: An Observer

I didn't know how the rest of the day passed. Well, technically, half a day.

As soon as the lunch bell rang, I quickly rushed out of the classroom under the despising eyes of my classmates and the teacher's stunned ones and directly leapt over the school's walls.

Hah~ I don't have time for two so which one should I go to...?

Mm. With the way the plot is laid out, I should probably stick with Bakugo... Just in case a mishap happens. Can never be too careful in this world.

Should be interesting.

After getting on the train to the other side of the city, perhaps my expectant expression was too evident because quite a few people glanced at me furtively. Some mothers even edged their children away from me, blocking them from my sight with their bodies but I paid no attention to it.

Today was a good day! I get to watch two good shows in a row!

Ah~ Life is good~

Suddenly, from the corner of my eyes, I saw a short girl with light blond hair staring at me curiously and, when she saw me looking back at her, she flashed a wide grin.

A small world indeed.

The past times that I've been traveling around, I've never met any characters from the anime but, now that the plot has started, they're suddenly sprouting up out of nowhere.

Ha~

Gleefully, I too, flashed her a careless grin, rather, with my eyes uncovered like this, would it seem threatening instead? Ah, whatever.

Since the protagonist himself said my eyes looked cool, then I won't hide them anymore. Everyone, please look as much as you want! I'll try to look at you too as much as possible.

I never knew not caring could feel this refreshing!

Before I knew it, I was already sitting in a small shop near Midoriya-kun's school, waiting for the trio to exit so I could stalk Bakugo.

I don't even remember how I got off the train, how I got to this shop, or how the following two hours had passed but, when I came to, I was already standing up, about to follow the three people who had just exited the school.

Actually, my main target was just Bakugo and, the other two, quoting from Bakugo's own words, were just extras that happened to be there.

As I slipped in and out of the shadows, trailing behind them carefully, I found a head of light blond hair by a corner, trying to stealthily follow me.

Hah... You're good, kid, but this is a neet exclusive skill. Change your class first before following me.

Let's just ignore her for now but, why exactly is she following me?

Right when I wasn't looking, Bakugo had somehow found an unsuspecting soda bottle lying on the ground and kicked it... hard. While in the midst of cursing Midoriya-kun.

And that's my cue.

I immediately jumped back after estimating the blast's area of effect and hid within the shadows, calculating the best location to view the show and staying there.

Meanwhile, the little follower, probably surprised by my sudden actions, was unable to keep up and just kept hiding in her spot.

As soon as I secured my personal viewing platform, a loud explosion suddenly occurred, causing dust and debris to fly out. The next moment, everything was burning.

"Ah~ Just as I remembered... Bakugo is really so violent~" Unknowingly, I had said my thoughts aloud as my eyes squinted in fascination.

Such explosiveness, that raw and aggressive power... It's really beautiful.

It makes sense how he's the most shipped character in the series. I mean, who wouldn't want to tame and suppress something like that?

Just as I was watching Bakugo being slowly entangled into the gooey and dirty slime villain and thinking of how wonderful it would be if this scene was ever recreated as a hentai skit, soft thumping and breathing sounds came from behind me, causing me to slightly turn my head to check but still keeping track of what was happening below at the corner of my eyes.

"Good afternoon!" A cheery voice said as the girl grinned, exposing her sharp incisors. "I just want to ask, what are you doing?"

"...Observing" I replied carelessly, not bothering to explain any further as my eyes went back to the scene below us.

As I thought, Bakugo's endurance is really strong. If I had his endurance in my previous life, I probably wouldn't have died.

Hah~

But I'm still kind of glad I did die.

It's been two minutes since it started and the scene below had already deteriorated to one of hellish destruction and fire but, right now, the rusted roof panels that we were hiding in, was still quiet and peaceful as we kept our silence, watching. Though, that didn't last much longer.

Oh, the heroes finally arrived. Although, they couldn't do much. Just prevented the fires from spreading.

"Say, why do you like watching something so boring?" My watching companion asked as if she was really curious. "It's obvious that the villain will win any time soon. That boy does have a powerful quirk but, he can't last too long."

"Hmm~ I just like watching. You can say, I'm this world's observer~" I replied casually as I smiled. "And who knows? Something surprising might happen."

As the heroes were struggling to rescue the hostage without being able to do anything, I took a glance at my phone and saw that around ten minutes had already passed.

Wow~ He really can hold on~

If I had him on a choke hold, he could probably struggle for a long time before passing out~

Though I'd probably be on the losing end afterwards, it would be a fun experience~

Somehow, during the time I was lost in thought, my companion had already snuck back into the shadows and disappeared.

How disappointing ~

From the crowd that had formed below, I spotted a sickly looking, blond man and realized it was about time to head down.

"Mm~ It's time~ Midoriya-kun~ I'll have you indebted to me for a while~ So let's be friends, okay?~"

With soft mutterings drifting out, an anticipating grin made it's way to my face.

Undetected, the girl who was supposed to have left but stayed back to watch, inadvertently felt cold at that moment, then, she too grinned.

"Hello. Do you need any help?" I said with a polite smile as I appeared behind Kamui Woods who had just dropped the rescued boys. "If I may, my quirk might be helpful."

"Thanks, kid, but this should be left to the pros. Just stand back and let us handle it." Indifferently, I was pushed aside. But this too, was within my expectation.

"Ah~ My quirk is just useful for securing the hostage. I don't need to get close. That's just about all I could do, though." I explained patiently.

"Really?! Then that would be a great help!" A loud voice exclaimed above us. We looked up to see Mt. Lady struggling to squeeze between the narrow buildings.

"But he's still a student! We can't afford to put him in danger!" Kamui Woods shouted as he disagreed.

"Isn't it fine? I'll just stomp on whoever approaches!" Mt. Lady reassured confidently. "Look! That boy over there can't possibly last any longer! We have to take this chance!"

As they began to argue back and forth, a head of green hair rushed past the blockade and desperately ran towards the villain.

"KACCHAN!!!"

"Ah~ Midoriya-kun~" An elated voice slipped from my lips but, fortunately, it was too noisy so no one heard it.

"You... Why?!" Between ragged breaths, Bakugo squeezed out two words somewhat desperately.

"My legs just started moving! Why? I dunno!"

As Midoriya-kun struggled to claw out the slime and drag Bakugo out, he suddenly grinned although his eyes were desperate. "You... You looked like you needed saving!"

"Ah~ I'm sorry~" I said and ran forward, a few strings, much thicker and stronger than ones I had shown Midoriya-kun this morning breaking through my skin and flying towards the two boys that were entangled with the villain.

"Stop... it!!! Just a little longer. So stop getting in my way!!!" Bakugo screamed at Midoriya-kun.

It was obvious that my sudden actions startled the heroes as they all gasped and tried to drag me back to safety but, were too late. I had already passed through the fire.

Although it was easy piercing through the slimey exterior and wrapping around Bakugo's body, it was much harder to pull out as the slime had thickened around my strings.

Even when I had already dragged Midoriya-kun to safety, Bakugo was still stuck halfway in. Fortunately, he was already able to breath.

As if to cooperate, his hand grabbed onto my strings tightly while his other hand blasted the slime that still stubbornly clung onto his lower half.

"DIE YOU SLIME BASTARD!!!"

With his shout, Midoriya-kun looked up and saw his rescuer. "Yamori-kun..? How?" Although elated, his eyes his a tinge of sadness.

Drip.

Ah~ It bled again...

From my wrists where the string had slid out from, crimson blood began to trickle down.

Hah... This is why I can't release too much.

It was only for a single second but, under the barrage of fire blasts, the slimes had retreated and I took advantage of it, immediately pulling Bakugo out but the force was too strong so we ended up crashing onto each other.

Ah-oof! My poor otaku body... I have not exercised in a long time so I'm very delicate~

Fortunately, I pulled him out in time though, since as soon as we crashed onto the ground, a loud booming sound was heard.

"A pro should always be ready to risk his life! DETROIT... SMASH!!!"

Ah~ All Might~ Late as always~ But this is good~

I was able to complete my plan with no hitch.

Shh...

And... It's raining. This is good too. At least, it would wash away the blood on my hands.

"No way, the air pressure... That rising air current..." Midoriya-kun muttered from somewhere behind us.

"He changed the weather with a single punch!"

"Amazing. That's... ALL MIGHT!!!"

I laid unmoving on the ground, allowing the cold rain to cool down my body. Next to me, an angry blond hastily got up despite his heavy panting and glared at me hatefully.

"You!!! I didn't ask for you to save me! Got that?! So FUCK OFF!!!" He shouted so hard that his veins began to pop out.

"Said the guy who grabbed onto my strings so desperately~" I smiled. If he talks like this, it just makes me want to tease him and make him angrier.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, SHITTY EYES!!! THAT NEVER HAPPENED!!!" He screamed louder in anger. At this point, sparks were already appearing on his hands, making sizzling sounds as they made contact with the raindrops.

"Haha~ Sure~" I replied offhandedly to stop the argument as the heroes were already approaching us.

"Kid! That was dangerous! You-"

"Good job, kid! That was awesome!" As Kamui Woods began his lecture, he was immediately cut off by Mt. Lady and they began another round of bickering. Honestly, they really should be a couple at this point.

After that, All Might was surrounded by reporters and Bakugo and I were surrounded by heroes. Midoriya-kun too, was taken by a few heroes but, unlike us who were being surrounded by heroes trying to recruit us for if we ever became pros, he was taken for a scolding.

Ha... This really is a world run by strength.

Being a neet in the future will be hard. How troublesome.

But... with this, I have secured my future, along with the protagonist being indebted to me.

Today's rewards are bountiful enough.

After the heroes had backed off, I stood up and dusted my clothes. I refused the police department's suggestion of taking me home and walked away, leaving Bakugo who was deep in his thoughts alone.

Although I still wanted to watch the scene of Midoriya-kun being taken under All Might's tutelage, I will try to refrain myself since my presence there might have a detrimental effect.

Well then~ Until we meet again~
