Chapter 8: Side Story - Emily's Daily Work
black*Yawn*
'It's already dawn. Let's go to work~.'
Emily woke up and arranged her bed.
She was getting ready for her daily work. She dressed in her maid uniform and combed her silky long red hair.
She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled.
A Goddess.
'Let's go to Diane's room and wake her up.'
She thought and moved towards her room, and sneakily walked. She was walking slowing in order not to let a sound out. She wanted to wake her up in surprise, but it is proven hard as she had a very sensitive ear.
A trait of demi-humans.
'I must make her wake up in surprise.'
She had a determined looked. She had done this every day but not of her attempts worked out. She tried walking around with a rag on her foot to camouflage the sounds made by her, but it was for nought as she heard her excited breath and in exchange, she was the one who got surprised.
'I will not make a mistake today.'
She sneakily walks and very 'slowly' made herself enter Diane's room.
'She is still in the blanket, perfect!'
She was rejoicing that she is still sleeping. She saw a blanket that was bigger and which clearly told that there was a sleeping figure under it and walks slowly towards it. She was walking on a snail pace move.
She then arrives on her target.
She was preparing to pounce her and dig her fingers into her bellies.
But-
"Boo!"
"EIHHH!"
She jumps towards the bed.
She got surprised on a sudden voice behind her back. She saw her making a triumphant pose.
"I win again."
"Ugh, not fair! You cheated!"
Emily was throwing a tantrum. She was sure that the blanket there lies in the sleeping figure of Diane.
"I didn't che-at~."
Diane coyly said and harrumph.
She was on a victory spree again. But Emily was getting smarter and smarter at each attempt.
This time she was forced to use her secret weapon.
Her body clock.
The demi-human body knows the accurate time and the environment on their bodies. They use it mostly to identify the seasons and their hunt for food.
Diane was already prepared when Emily will come through the door. She was waiting beside the door, and when the door opened, she was ready to surprise her.
"Muoh, I will get you next time."
Emily had a pouty face as she crosses her arms.
"Sure, sure. Anyway, let's get to work."
"Ok~."
Emily replied with a smile and followed Diane to the kitchen and prepared for their breakfast.
Emily picked up some potatoes and put it in the boiling pot. She then picked up some flour and eggs and put it on the table. She combined it and moulded it together to form the bread.
Diane was outside tending the animals. She carried a pail of water and moved towards the barn to water the animals. She then fed the chickens and cleaned out their coop, and she took the eggs that were newly laid on a tray and went back to the kitchen.
"Emily is the breakfast finished yet? I'm hungry."
"Yes, I'm preparing them now."
Emily replied. She was also done with her work and currently placing the plate on the table along with the newly cooked bread, eggs, and potatoes.
Diane headed to the table where she saw her finally done placing everything. She saw the appetising breakfast and immediately ate.
*Chomp* *Chomp* *Munch*
Diane felt the delicious taste of bread. The soft, warm bread and the eggs put inside of it melting in her mouth.
'Oh, it's so good.'
She felt that her body regained energy.
"How is it, Diane? I'm so good right~?"
Emily had an air of victory in her.
She may have lost the battle earlier, but she won the war!
"It's not de.. li.. cious"
Diane reddens and doesn't like to admit, but it tasted so good.
"Are you sure about that? Your face betrays your words."
Emily saw right through her.
Diane hurriedly finished the remaining and immediately goes out of the kitchen.
"Anyway, I'm done eating. Prepare the breakfast for the young master and the young lady. I'm going to continue cleaning outside the mansion."
"Ok~."
Emily happily replied.
"What should I make?"
Emily was immersed in her thoughts.
"Fish is it then."
She finally chosen and immediately prepare it.
After she finally finished cooking, she headed to the rooms of their masters. She knocked and opened the door and saw the handsome sleeping face of her young master.
"Young master, wake up its already morning."
Emily spoke softly beside him, and John woke up.
"Good morning, young master, how was your sleep?"
Emily smiled. She watched her young master groggily open his eyes.
"Good morning Emily, It's good."
"My glad to hear that young master. I have already prepared your breakfast. Now I need to wake up the young lady, young master, please excuse me."
"Alright"
Emily walked out of his room and headed to Celine's room.
"Thank you."
John replied and got up from his bed and opened the window.
*Inhales*
"It's a good beautiful day."
John took a deep breath and decided to walk out of the room.
He heads to the dining room while waiting for them to arrive.
Emily arrived at Celine's room and knocked and entered.
She saw her cute lying figure making a mess on her bed.
"Young lady, wake up, or I'm gonna tickle you~."
"No, don't wanna wake up yet. Let me sleep for a few more moments."
Celine heard Emily and picked up her blanket and covered herself.
She wanted to sleep more!
"Young lady, it's not good for your health, and you will get fat."
Emily moves towards her and tickles her exposed feet.
"Nooooooo! Ahahahaha! Big Sister Emily stop, hahahahaha!"
Emily further tickles her on her belly.
"I will only stop if you get up from your bed and have your breakfast."
"Ok, ok, stop I will get up now."
Celine got up from her bed with a pouty face.
"Let's go."
"Hai"
Emily and Celine walked out to the room and headed to the dining hall, and they saw John waiting.
"Sorry for making you wait, young master, I will immediately prepare the breakfast."
Emily walked out of the room and headed to the kitchen.
Emily put the breakfast on a put them on a tray. She headed back, saw them talking with each other, and she then placed their breakfast on the table.
"Young master, young lady, please enjoy your breakfast."
Emily stepped aside and waited behind them, waiting for them to finish. She watched them enjoy eating and talked about how good it is. She was never tired watching them praise her cooking, and it was her forte.
They finished eating and thank her for the beautiful meal they had. She then picks up the plates and washes them on the kitchen. Later she will prepare some snacks with Diane making the tea, and she was skilled in cooking while Diane is experienced in making tea.
After finishing washing the plates, she then resumes her job cleaning inside the mansion and occasionally watch the young master and young lady walking around talking and doing something.
'They are both having fun~.'
Emily enjoyed watching them.
She continued cleaning until she was finally done. She then rested and headed on the library.
She opened the door and sat down on a chair. The young master already allowed them to do what they want after their work. She picked up a book about cooking and enjoyed her free time reading.
She loves reading a book. The library had many books stored on the bookshelves, and the books she likes to read the most is about cooking. She wanted to try the recipe inside and adjust them to make it more delicious.
'I want to make this.'
She saw a crescent moon cookie and saw their recipes, she then took note and headed immediately on the kitchen. She then made that cookie, but it wasn't good enough, and so she adjusted them to her desired taste.
And after she finally made it, she then told Diane about it to taste if it was good enough and fortunately Diane ate it all in which said the answer.
'It is delicious.'
She then made it and served it for their snacks which made them astounded by the deliciousness of her cookie.
She was happy.
She wished to serve them with more delicious food in the future.
