The night was young for some people who're inside the bar, enjoying their time flirting, exchanging lusty glances at the girls nearby, wearing almost nothing except the small tapestry covering their naughty parts as they sway their hips into the dance floor, sipping their drinks like who-knows-what, and listening to the loud exchange of youngsters' "oohs", "aaahhs", "yeahs", "woahs" as they jam into the lively music like there's no tomorrow; for some it will be kind-of relaxing as they listen into the deafening rhythms of the bar's music, trying to forget their hateful, painful experiences in life; others it will some kind of reward for their hard-earned payment from work; for others, it might be a get-together after not seeing their friends for a long time; and maybe for the rest who are inside just went in out of curiosity.
Holding onto his drinking glass, frowning, his day was no better. Joshua's mood had been off since the afternoon. Well, you know already.
By the looks of it, it was supposed to be his day when he can tease the gang. Sitting at the balcony with his friends, all eyes were casted on him, trying to decipher what had happened to the "coolest" ass in town.
They couldn't imagine that the guy who's a master at making fun at them lost his cool. It was a big "hurrah" for them. Such an opportune is rarely seen.
"It seems that the "young master of making fun of us" is now, well, how would I even say it? Broken hearted? Or…" sitting across him is his best friend Jay, smiling ridiculously teasing him first. They all laughed while Joshua's veins are popping one by one.
"Or maybe got dumped?" then Duke butts in, feigning ignorance to his best friend's foreboding aura.
"Or maybe he is starting to bloom!" says Tomas who's pouring drinks into empty glass.
"No, maybe…" Alfred who's giving Joshua a meaningful teasing look finally said, drinking his liquor before continuing. "Maybe he is finally getting laid!"
"Woooooaah!" the four chorused in amusement at their friend's guessing joke.
"Oy pare, who's the luckiest girl?" still menacingly smiling, Jay asked in a curious tone.
"The luckiest girl to finally enlighten our "ooh-so-ever-virgin" ass?" still can't get enough, Tomas butts in.
Finally, having all his veins popped up altogether in his head, Joshua can't stand it anymore as he loudly and irritated voiced out his surging emotions. "Fuck it dude! I'm not like you. And even if I did, I won't even dare masturbate in your presence!" And so he finally lost it.
"HA HA HA HA!" At last, they finally got their payback time. Such satisfying moment worth remembering for their entire lives!
This is the true karma, baby! Payback's a bitch!
"Actually, we've never seen you like that before, Josh." Alfred admitted frankly, grinning. The rest of them nodded, elegantly sipping alcohol, the mockeries stil plastered on their faces.
"Yeah, it's something new to us." Said Duke who keeps casting funny glances to the rest of the gang, as if finding confirmation and approval of what he said.
"Well, he FINALLY got his match!" then boom, Derek hits the spot…at last. Smirking, he took a sip from his glass. "Ahh, this alcohol tastes great!"
All of a sudden, Joshua as if he just processed a whole bunch of ideas, exclaimed, "WAIT WHAT??" Joshua stood up, his voice thankfully didn't echo in a place so loud, with such force, almost shouting in disbelief.
He was totally shocked to hear it from Derek.
"You mean this?" Raising his glass, pretending not to know anything what his spoiled friend meant.
"No, no, no, no.. Not that. Rewind."
Derek grinned widely. "You FINALLY FOUND HER." Derek smirk before sipping his cold drink. "Your MATCH!"
Then everyone laughed.
Last week, I was out attending a conference for the youth and was also in sort of looking for inspiration. Actually, aside from looking for a cure for my Author's Block, I am also trying to collect lots of vocabularies in order for you to have a more fulfilling reads, moreover, to express what I want to imply in my story further.
So, here is a short chapter.
Hopefully, my mind will start to weave more looms of words.
