Chapter 154: Chapter 149: Explosion
"Freeze."
Huo Yuhao cooly sweep Frostbane horizontally, the ground beneath the Evil Soul Masters was immediately covered in cold Ultimate Ice, freezing half of their bodies and restricting their movements.
"Now!"
Huo Yuhao and his group charged out fiercely towards the dazed Evil Soul Masters.
Of course, he had already discussed the plan of attack to his friends using Spiritual Sharing; though it was more relayed than discuss really as the soul skill only worked one-way—him talking to them.
The first phase of the plan was for Elder Xuan to take their greatest threat away and get rid of him as fast as possible.
'15 minutes.' Was Elder Xuan's reply to Huo Yuhao using sound transmission technique.
The sound transmission technique was a simple technique of using one's soul power to compress their voice and send it to the target's ears.
Most of the Shrek group knew of such a technique, but didn't dare to use it under the presence of the Ghost Emperor Douluo or else he'd pick up their conversation.
Elder Xuan is much more skilled at using it and much stronger than the Ghost Emperor Douluo, which is impossible for him to intercept Elder Xuan's sound transmission technique.
"Wang Dong!"
"Hm!"
Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong'er immediately initiated their martial soul fusion technique: Enveloped in a golden light, phantoms of their respective martial souls appeared behind them, and a mature young man with Huo Yuhao's facial features appeared with a domineering demeanor.
His' mystical eyes brightened and the butterfly patterns in 'his' eyes flapped as if it were alive.
"Kami no sabaki(Divine Judgement)!"
'He' raised his right palm over his head and lowered, bright golden splendor appeared over every Evil Soul Masters; causing their bodies to turn gold, their soul power momentarily sealed, their minds cracked and bodies suffered heavy injuries. The land before them was bathed in golden destruction.
For the Soul Kings and Soul Emperors, such power affected them the most and would take them a while to recover. The weakest among them, the mind and body of a recently advanced Soul King had his body immediately explode upon the impact.
The four Soul Sages however, only had their soul power sealed for a brief few seconds and their minds a bit dazed. Their bodies suffered only minor injuries.
Unfortunately for them however, in a battlefield, the manner between life and death can be easily decided within a moment.
"Kill!" Ma Xiaotao took the lead to charge at one Soul Sage, quickly crossing at least a hundred meters of distance as her fiery phoenix wings spread apart and her soul rings shone brilliantly; initiating the attack.
She didn't hold back, immediately using her strongest soul skills in order to kill the Evil Soul Sage.
"Here's my blessings~!"
"First Day, Speed... Third Day, Strength..."
Both Gongyang Mo and Ning Tian did their jobs well, quickly providing buffs on their allies.
Above Ma Xiaotao's head and others, bright colors shone as if it were blessings of heaven; their physical strength and other abilities were amplified by a certain percentage.
"N-No! Aaaaah!"
"Stay back! Stay back!"
"Y-You cowards! Using such underhanded tricks!"
The Evil Soul Masters bloodily cried out, scattering like mere children.
"Pathetic." Tang Ya coldly snorted as she used her first and fourth soul skill, a mix of yellow and black sheen of light layered over her body as multiple thick dark blue vines sprouted from behind her and started binding one soul emperor and two soul kings, their flesh immediately began melting.
"T-This aura...! Aren't you-!" One of the Evil Soul Emperor's reacted violently but before he could say anything further, a blue purple scaled arm crackling with lightning pierced through his head as if it were a watermelon.
"Do not hesitate! Kill them all!" Bei Bei screamed out, rallying his allies.
Tang Ya, Bei Bei and the rest of the outer courtyard students immediately went to deal with the Soul Kings and Soul Emperors, with Ling Luochen providing them backup with her Ice soul skills.
She also stayed behind in the rear to keep watch over their auxiliary soul masters and the immobilized Chen Zifeng and Yao Haoxuan.
Krackakoom!*
Xi Xi moved like lightning and struck like thunder, with a sharp purple edged dagger in hand; it was a Class 5 Soul Sundering Dagger, a soul tool that a senior from the Soul Tool Department had gifted her last year.
Her first, second and third soul rings lit up successively as she appeared before her target and plunged the tip of the dagger straight through their cranium.
After taking care of her target, she then moved to another Soul Sage with great haste.
At that moment, Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong'er separated from their Martial Soul Fusion. Both of them looked fatigued, especially the latter, as they had pushed their Martial Soul Fusion Ability to the limit so to eliminate them all.
"Dong'er, stay here and recover. We'll handle the rest," Huo Yuhao muttered softly as he brandished Frostbane once more, he didn't want to take any chances with an Evil Soul Sage.
He once fought against one after all, and knew just how tricky they can be.
Wang Dong'er helplessly nodded. "Be careful." she then went back to the back where Ling Luochen and the others were.
Huo Yuhao's figure blurred as he used Body Flicker, with his Sharingan glowing fiercely, he came off as a sort of demon as he appeared before a middle aged man with a unshaven facial hair.
His clear green eyes showed that he was starting to recover from the damage on his spirit and the golden layer over his body was receding.
Huo Yuhao didn't hesitate to slice the man's head clean off, there wasn't even a spray of blood as his body turned into an ice statue in an instant.
After decapitating the Evil Soul Sage in one move, Huo Yuhao let out a soft breath. He was now running low on his energy; from using the Ice God's Sorrow, purifying those corpses, constantly using his Spiritual Sharing Detection, and using a Martial Soul Fusion Technique.
'I wish I had my clone sent me a batch of Milk Bottles, I shouldn't prioritize on just combat-type soul tools.' He thought to himself.
Milk Bottles, or Energy Restoration Soul Tool for its scientific name, is a soul tool that is used to replenish one's soul power. Both soul masters and soul engineers can use this item. The milk bottle can be a soul tool of any class, but only soul masters from rank 3 and above can make it have a given effect.
The only downside to it is that one has to stop and absorb the soul power with all their mind and soul. If one does not focus, they will fail to guide the soul power into their body. As such, the user must not to use the milk bottle in battle.
This sort of soul tool is indeed very useful and Huo Yuhao had added it to a list of things his clone and Ye Guyi in the Akatsuki HQ to make. The blueprint on making one was available in Shrek Academy, which his teacher Fan Yu had easily given him.
But he didn't put it as a priority, and being in this situation, he realized just how stupid that decision was.
"... This went smoother than I anticipated." Huo Yuhao said as he looked at his friends eliminating the Evil Soul Masters, the last one being a Soul Emperor that was killed by Jiang Nannan.
'Yet, what is this uneasy feeling in my heart? Did I miss something?' He frowned and activated his Spiritual Detection once more and found nothing, he even scanned Chen Zifeng and Yao Haoxuan to see if the Ghost Emperor Douluo had planted something on them.
When he saw Elder Xuan flying back towards them with a corpse in hand, Huo Yuhao shrugged the uncomfortable feeling off. He was probably just being paranoid—
His eyes widened, with his Spiritual Detection, he saw how the bodies of Chen Zifeng and Yao Haoxuan glowed an ominous orange glow, as if their skin was crumbling away. All the while Gongyang Mo, Ning Tian, Ling Luochen, Xiao Xiao(who had walked over to check on them) and... Wang Dong'er remained oblivious to the danger that was about to happen.
In Huo Yuhao's eyes, time seemed to slow down at a snail's pace.
His mind started racing for all kinds of techniques he could use at that moment, the distance between them was 120 meters; if he disables his weights, opened at least the 1st Gate and used Body Flicker, then–!
'No! I...I won't make it!' His eyes turned completely bloodshot, the tomoes in his eyes revolved crazily. The weights around his limbs had barely just deactivated when the boys' bodies brightened.
Desperation etched upon Huo Yuhao's face as he realized the imminent danger, and that there was nothing he could do.
'No! I'll save them! I can!' With a surge of adrenaline, Huo Yuhao sprinted towards his friends, his thoughts racing for a solution. He started using Absolute Domain to the fullest, trying to get as close as possible; inch by inch, even if it causes his brain to fry.
With blood running down his orifices, he tried calling for Skydream, Ice Empress, his Ancestor or even Elder Electrolux to come help him–!
"—RUN!!"
But unfortunately...
Booom*!
Flesh and blood was ripped apart, golden red eyes turned completely red as the feeling of despair, sorrow, and pain grew within him as he blacked out.
