Chapter 86: Star of the show
The Scythes came in from all sides leaving no room to escape yet Tral went into a new stance with the left blade pointed at the vampire and the right facing downwards with their blades touching at the base before he dragged the right blade along the left to strike out at Elease.
Energy built up through both to transmit along the path until both weapons were only touching at the tips and when they released from each other a single crescent of crimson energy was released to arc through the air in milliseconds to cut through the vampires spell and sever her fingers in the process.
Elease let out a blood curdling scream as the scythes that were closing in on Tral lost their form to splash down to the ground suddenly inanimate without their source to control them. Doctor was surprised at this and signalled to the werewolf Silvian to retreat. She immediately picked him up before leaping into the air to make for an opening in the ceiling.
Tral first made another slash at Elease forcing her to dodge back before a second energy blade ripped up the floor in front of him which set off a ton of sparks before a massive hole appeared as the entire system collapsed into a large pitfall bellow.
This gave the Doctor and Silvian time to escape out of the building leaving Tral alone with Elease who had gone mad with rage after the lose of her fingers. From the stumps on her hand sprouted new bloods whips that ended in similar scythes while she unsheathed a rapier to wield in her other hand before jumping across the newly formed gap to fight Tral to the death.
Since his eye had fully opened Tral was in a good mood so he entertained her in her last struggle by parrying each of her blows as they seemed to dance at the edge of the precipice exchanging moves in a flurry of strikes both close up and with ranged energy strikes. They went back and forth in their deadly dance yet Elease despite her skill couldn't land a blow on Tral as he stayed on the defensive leaving no opening for her to take advantage of regardless of how she tried to lure him in with her own openings.
Their battle had reached its climax when suddenly the Doctor came flying back into the room from the opening quickly followed by a now bloody werewolf. The doctor shot flames from his shoes to slow his descent completely unharmed while Silvian landed unceremoniously on the ground before struggling to stand up.
At the opening in the ceiling soon stood two figures that quickly used their blazing auras to remove the foul gunk that had covered their bodies. Gè Míng and Elysia Ray posed there grandly for a moment watching Tral's fight.
Elease had become distracted by this turn of events which left an opening for Tral to use as he struck out to disarm her by severing her sword wielding arm at the shoulder which left her to collapse backwards on the ground defeated.
From the entrance to the room Darick finally burst in late to the party as he had to get his bearing once the spell had worn off. "Oh… Ok then it seems you guys have things pretty well in hand here, guess I didn't need to run all over this stupid building then." He remarks as he stares at the mostly defeated opponents.
Doctor Stein laughs madly maniacally at all of this "So you seem to have quite the group with you, so it would be a disservice as your host to not give you a party up to your standards! I seem to recall you mentioning that my machinations weren't up to your standards for which you can have my sincerest apologies! Since we have reach such a climax, I feel it is only right to unveil the main attraction, I was hoping to be far way from here when the star of the show came into the spot light but as they say, beggars can't be choosers."
After he end this speech the doctor crazily types into the keypad built on his robotic arm. Strange noises can be heard from the pit below like large unused doors scraping open followed by the sound of metal bending.
From the deep comes a chorus of ghastly wails that are getting ever closer. Elease starts freaking out at this point trying to crawl away from the hole. "You're mad, how could you release that thing with us still here! The beast is meant to consume the city after we have, not as we stand next to its cage!"
Her sounds seem to draw the noise closer attracted to the smell of her blood that covers the floor. From the opening in the floor a regular human hand appears to hold the edge only a little darkly discoloured, soon to be followed by another. In the matter of moment a large swarm of arms writhes over the edge all fused together at the base.
They half crawl half slither towards Elease at great speed to grab her by the legs. The others can see eyes and ears in the mess of flesh as another stream of body part holds onto the other side of the put to pull up the monsters main body. It is a massive being composed of hundreds of corpse from all walks of life. At its center is a large gaping maw full of various teeth and other sharp bones. Three greater eyes are positioned around this mouth while the main body is mostly made up the still animated faces of those that have been melded into it.
Each small mouth crying out in agony as their faces are twisted in pain and hunger. Elease is lifted in the air by one of the large tentacle of arms to hang her struggling body above the brutal maw. "Stein you bastard how could you do this after everything I've done for you?" She wails her last question.
The doctor responds in a deranged manner "Would you do one more thing for me dear, would you be so kind as to have the beast consume you to make your blood part of its being as that will complete it's transformation into the undead making it effectively immortal? You don't have much choice but technically be reassured that you won't die as I designed it to assimilate each new piece of material alive to make the final product my own work of constantly evolving art!"
She screams in horror as the arms plunge her into the mouth to devour her whole. Afterwards the creature shivers as it's very being starts to transform into that of a blood thirsty vampire. It wailing reaches a crescendo as the faces along its body sprout fangs and the blood from all over the building begins to flow towards the monsters body.
The Doctor in a passionate madness fueled ecstasy proclaims to the everyone "I have created the consumer of life, never would I have imagined that it's first meals would include such mighty cultivator including a heavenly powered vampire of such a rich bloodline! Once it fuses your beings together it will be unstoppable in its journey to reach the top of the food chain!"
After saying this the mad doctor steps backwards as he becomes surrounded by a protective magitech bubble while various controls spring out of the ground which he starts to work on in an insane manner completely disregarding the situation around him.
The monster reacts to his movements to try and grab him but it's attempts merely bounce off the bubble leaving him to his work. Soon the control device that the doctor in encased in breaks itself free from the floor as it is propelled around by a plethora of moving cables that grab onto the creatures tentacle till it starts to borrow it's way into the beast.
There are sparks of electricity that sizzle across the being as it flails about in violent contortions. The group that surrounds it look at each other with worry before Elysia speaks up "I don't know what the hell is going on here but we need to put a stop to it as soon as possible so let's each take a side and rip this thing to pieces, Gè Míng stay up here to rain down heavy attacks to keep it in the hole while we each take an eye!"
After this hasty plan is made Elysia leaps into the fray to unleash a mighty strike at one of the large eyes which temporary splits it in two only for the eye to heal back at a rapid pace. Each of the others does the same while filling their attacks with plenty of Qi.
