Chapter 82: Curses and legends
Back at the temple of Elysia's master, Darick had just woken up. He was in a humble room with Gè Míng who was also up. He went to ask Gè Míng what happened but he didn't get a response other then a hand gesture before Gè MÍng ran off to get the others.
Tral soon arrived along with Elysia to check up on him as Gè Míng sat interested in the corner quietly. Tral spoke first "I'm glad you weren't out too long buddy you just missed out on Kalsar turning into a hell hole thanks to these civil disruptors."
They then proceeded to catch him up on recent events before Darick asked what happened to him "I'm kinda afraid to ask but I'm not a werewolf or cursed now am I?"
Tral chuckled sadly at this "You're lucky as you are the only one not cursed at this point. Elysia is getting treatment but will take a while before he is back to his peak as his curse is constantly feeding off his energy while Gè Míng has been muted by that devilish hand. They have been stabilized but Gè Míng needs more help before he will be able to talk again while you only the other hand just have a body that is protesting all the shit you have been putting in your system specifically the strength formula which has been playing havoc with your whole system but that's still a better price to pay then it's usual body explosion that it does for normal people."
Darick was in shock then yelled "So you did this to me you asshole!" Before quickly calming down "Sorry for the outburst, I know I asked for and I'm better off then the others.. it's just frustrating to be left out."
Tral patted him on the shoulder "It ok we are on holiday till we find that elusive Dr.Stein but when you are ready we'll go talk to Elysia's master about crazy old man prophecy stuff if it makes you feel better."
After he says this Gè Míng quickly hand signs a few things at them which Elysia translates "Gè Míng says you better suck it up cry baby cause there are no weaklings allowed in the Gè sect"
They laugh about that giving Darick a hard time before moving to the main room where the master is meditating.
She raises her head as they enter to wait for them to sit down before she begins "I have waited a long time for the coming of my teacher's prophecy. He spoke of four orphans and four skilled warriors. The four orphans were raised together while their four allies were each trained personally by great masters to hold the power to change the fates of the universe. Here we have before me two orphans and two warriors who have just set out on their journey to save this world from a being far more terrific that even the caretaker must bow down to."
They were all shocked at this "You mean to tell us that the god of all of Chanetquiets is just a servant to some greater force?" Elysia exclaims with great surprise "why have you never mentioned this before master?"
She shook her head with annoyance "I haven't told you because it mattered not and until now most of my masters prophecy seemed like his usual crazy nonsense. He would speak of other worlds out in the stars and of this world as if it were a farm with the people here being simple grains being grown for the harvest. Often calling the Caretaker a simple country hick or the church a bunch of berry pickers. Speaking of time and space as relative to eachother or that the sun was a million times larger then the world so it is hard to take all his stories seriously but he did say that I would one day train on of the warriors and that another would be a child hero who leads a sect of none. He would go on about the foolish creator, the unbreakable man, the energetic genius or the shape shifting egomaniac who he would speak fondly of as if remembering old times. He claimed that one day you would all gather together to over turn the order of this world and stop the great harvest that would consume the lives of all most. The enemies you will face before the Caretaker wakes for the coming of his master are the four horsemen that being devastation in their wake."
At this point she stops to let this sink in as she takes a sip of her tea. The others had a hard time coming to grips with this fantastical tale as Tral asked a question.
"So are we supposed to find the others to defeat these horsemen to stop this apocalypse from taking place and if so where do we even begin to look?" His question is followed by nods from the others in agreement.
She sighs at this before replying "I don't know much about the horsemen other then their names but I do know where you can look for the next warrior as he is said to train in the far north east of the continent in the harshest frozen tundra of this land. A Drow battle mage who's moves are like water is all I can tell you as well as the names of the horsemen you will face which are Conquest, War, Pestilence and Death. I warn you though, do not to try and defeat them until all eight members of the prophecy have gathered together as they wield powers well beyond this earthly realm."
The others were appalled by this with Tral asking again "So what, you think we can't handle them even with six or seven of us even though we don't even have a clue as to the whereabouts of the last warrior? What if we just all train really hard, there is no way we can be stopped if we fight them one at a time?
She held a very stern look on her face at this till everyone calmed down before responding "There is little time left to train as two of the riders have already started to move. My master said that by the time I see you there will only be five years to mark the coming of the Devourer of worlds and before then the riders must all be defeated as well as the Caretaker or all shall suffer for none can leave this place while the Caretaker controls the heavens and no-one can defeat the great Devourer except the Devourer it's self."
