Chapter 68: Burning intensity

Back on Japing Tral had come ashore walking straight out of the harbor to go directly towards the tower of combat.

Once there he noticed security was on high alert especially after his arrival although they kept a healthy distance so he pretended not to notice but they weren't the only ones to pay him quite a bit of attention with many mumbling rumors about the night before to each other.

He went straight to the sixty first floor to find that many of the fighters there were waiting specifically for him including the opponent who was dressed in a different prim and proper attire.

"Oh so you still have the guts to show up even after that fiasco yesterday with your friend? It matters not because you better be ready to pay up bug!" The gentleman makes snide remarks as he unbuttons his shirt to reveal chiseled muscles underneath.

Tral casually steps into the ring with a comment of his own "I could say the same about your sorry lot who pays to get rid of competition, say where is that other friend of yours who is strangely absent from licking pony jerks boot?"

Tral throws off his jacket to expose his own well toned muscles that faintly radiated a sanctimonious aura that he had started to develop from practicing the righteous calling.

This aura wasn't much at all as he had only started to train in the technique but he had put all his effort into the making of the aura as a way to try and cover for at least some of the weaknesses of vampirism while completely disregarding other aspects of the training for now.

The two competitors stood on opposite ends of the ring staring daggers at eachother in silence after that. They both suddenly leaped at eachother as if a hidden signal had told them it was the right time.

When they clashed each move they made was blocked or deflected by the other resulting in several strings of strikes failing to deal a single meaningful blow.

The gentleman's moves were smooth deflecting attacks like flowing water only to quickly strike with sudden ridged fingers like a spear

Tral on the other hand had opted for hard punches or parries and elegant dodges that left for little chance to land a blow without his enemy receiving a hard hit in reply forcing the other man to pull back at the last second each time or receive a harsh retaliation that both know Tral was waiting for reliant on his vampiric to trade blows.

The gentleman eventually took advantage of that with a piercing strike that shockingly escalated to his hand growing hot with flames which Tral was able to take in the shoulder instead of a more vital area while respond with a very solid punch to his opponents ribs but the man simply used most of that force to escape backwards as his body semi transformed in flame revealing his own innate power.

He laughed at Tral mockingly who was flexing his arm as it was having trouble healing due to the burn "Nothing but a casual that became a vampire to over come your lower class. You face a sky rank flame form powered now you lowlife."

Tral laughed back at this as he ripped the burned flesh on his arm off so that it could heal properly "Sky rank, you must be joking? You barely have those qualifications or can you show me some ranged attacks to change my mind puff ball?"

After saying this he took up the sumo stance of a previous opponent of his to channel energy from the ground to punch out a ball of compressed air at his opponent who easily dodged it almost gliding around with a body seemingly made of fire.

The flaming man shook his head sadly "such a poor technique won't do you good, I'll burn you to a crisp." He claimed before charging at Tral's position.

Tral unleashed many strikes filling the air with ranged attacks that his opponent slipped through easily like a blazing phoenix prepared to land like a comet on Tral's body to end this once and for all.

At the last second Tral raised his leg from the ground to unleash a vicious horizontal kick that sent out a crimson crescent energy blade from his shin to bisect his burning enemy at the waist who was unable to dodge such a wide strike at that range immediately separating his legs from the rest of his body as he flew past Tral to leave the ring in pieces.

Healers quickly arrived in an attempt to save his life stopping the blood from flowing from his lower body. His friend (the ponytail man) was furious yelling "That was a killing blow judge, that vampire should be disqualified!"

Tral calmly replied despite being tired from using up some much energy "He was alive when he left the ring and still is but I understand that you are looking out for him considering he wagered tens vials of blood in this fight which I doubt he could survive giving up anytime soon unless he really does die."

The judge had to agree with Tral as the winner by ring out despite the severity of the wounds as his opponent was still alive. As for the bet it placed in terms and conditions of the fight by both parties but the judge added a clause to state that he would need to be medically cleared for each vial extracted.
