Chapter 54: Copy Cat
Slowly walking out of the hospital, Magna felt rugged and tired as he staggered about. His mother and teacher had lectured him for 2 hours. 2 hours!!!
He looked to his friends for help but was met with angry glares from Argo and the girls and was completely ignored by Qrow, Taiyang and his father. No sane person wanted to get between the woman as they all knew the outcome.
Luckily, they still allowed Magna to leave the hospital as there real wasn't a need for him to stay there any longer.
It baffled the doctors on how he stayed unconscious for almost 2 weeks but what baffled them more was how Magna just decided to leave. Usually, the patients family bar them from leaving for a couple days, just in case something happens.
But, not only did they let him leave, they were the ones who requested it. Since the patient and his family requested it, the doctors had no choice but to allow him to leave.
However, they weren't the only ones baffled by his 2 week coma. When he learned of how long he had been unconscious, Magna howled like a dirty sailor in his head.
He knew that the only reason he fall unconscious that day was due to the pain hitting him all at once, forcing his body to 'shut down'. At most, he should have woken up after a couple days but then the evolution happened.
It must have took his body that long to process all the memories that didn't belong to him. Obviously, he wasn't truly angry about what happened, he was only a little miffed.
Walking a few steps away from the hospital, Magna suddenly found himself in his mother's embrace. A small groan escaped his lips as he complained, "Mum… come on! I can walk perfectly fine!"
Emily completely ignored him as she hugged him like he was a small animal and said, "We are going straight home. No more 'testing' things for at least a week!"
Magna gave her a shocked looked as he struggled, "But mum!!!"
"Don't you 'But mum!!!' me mister! You just left the hospital! I don't want you going back there for at least a week!"
In desperate attempt to sway her, Magna copied Ruby's ultimate technique. Glancing up at her from within her embrace, Magna's eyes widened slightly as he softly spoke in a childish tone, "Pwease~ Mummy~"
<Magna used Puppy dog eyes.>
"Kuh! N-no! I meant it, Magna! No means no!"
<It wasn't very effective.>
<Magna used teary eyes.>
"Pwease mummy~ I swear that I won't do anything dangerous~."
Emily and Magna became locked in an intense stare down. Magna couldn't help but want to test his new ability and Emily just didn't want her son to get hurt.
A long and grueling minute passed by as the pair continued to stare each other down in silence. Suddenly, Emily's gaze faltered as she slowly sighed.
"…You swear that you won't be doing anything dangerous?"
<It was super effective!>
"I promise!" Said Magna as he smiled happily.
Joshua, Qrow and Taiyang could only watch in awe as Emily, someone they knew as stubborn and hard-headed, conceded to Magna's request.
Obviously, Emily saw the looks they were giving her as she rolled her eyes and said, "What? I love my son! Bite me!"
The three stooges almost instantly turned their heads away from her in sync.
The trip home was peaceful. Magna was convinced(forced) by Emily to ride in her arms all the way home.
Even though she allowed Magna to test what his new ability, she had a few rules he had to comply with. One of said rules being that he has to be able to do whatever it is he wanted to do, at home.
That meant that whatever it was that he was going to do, it had to be safe enough that he wouldn't damage Taiyang's home.
Another rule was that, once he was finished testing his new ability, Magna was to finally explain what his actual semblance was.
It was plain as day when they sparred that whatever he created that day wasn't an ability. With the lack of aura and the intricate movements he showed, everyone figured out that what he was using was martial arts.
They were still boggled to this day over it. Emily and Joshua knew for sure that Magna has never learnt martial arts before. So it was a very strange experience for his parents when they saw him fighting like a veteran martial artist.
Magna was fine with the first rule. The second rule however…
He still didn't trust Qrow to not blab about him to Ozpin. Magna had nothing against the wizard of Beacon but if someone asked Magna if he trusted him? That would be a big 'NO'.
From what he could remember, Ozpin was very good at mind games. He would give you a couple of choices to choose from, saying that it was your choice make but he would set it up in a way where it felt like you were compelled to choose the answer he wanted to hear.
Luckily, Emily seemed to be able to see through his hesitation as she asked(threatened) Qrow and Taiyang before they left the hospital.
Finally reaching their home, Emily reluctantly placed Magna down. Ruby seemed to have become extremely clingy as she latched onto his arm as soon as she could.
Everyone quickly convened into the lounge, with Magna and Ruby being the last to arrive. Magna could feel the burn gaze of half the people in the room but he ignored it.
The room was fell silent, everyone staring at Magna as they waited to see what he wanted to do. Ruby adamantly refused to let him go, causing Magna to show a thin smile as he muttered, "Oh well…"
Turning towards the crowd, Magna smiled and said, "Ok… so, what I wanted to test was this new ability…"
Emily's gaze hardened as a small frown appeared on her face. Sweat dripped down his face as Magna hastily said, "It's not dangerous mum! Trust me, it's really not."
Seeing the frown disappear, Magna sighed in relief as he smiled, "I guess the best way to explain my new semblance would be to show it!"
The eyes of the adults all widened in shock as Qrow shakily muttered, "Wait! New semblance!?!"
Gently closing his eyes, a very very VERY faint silver glow rippled across his body. It started from his heart and rippled to its beat as it covered his body. It only took a couple seconds for the changes to become obvious as Magna's skin became slightly paler.
His original jet black hair slowly gained dark red highlights on the tips. Ruby squealed in joy as she rapidly dashed around Magna with starry eyes.
"Oh… my… Oum! You…you look like me! That's so cool!"
Qrow literally sprung out of his seat as he unconsciously dropped his flask. His arm trembled as he slowly pointed towards Magna, "T-there's no way… there's just no way that you…"
A large grin appeared on Magna's face as his body burst into a shower of red petals, circling the room at high speeds a couple times before stopping in the exact same spot.
Pushing his hair out of the way, Magna eyes quickly flicked open, revealing a pair of dazzling silver eyes as he smugly said, "What's wrong Qrow? You look like you've seen a ghost?"

Ability: Allows the user to become those who he shares a bond with.
When the user transforms, he takes on the key physical features of the intended target.
This includes but is not limited to: Eye colour, hair colour, skin colour, hair length and mannerism.
While transformed, the user gains access to any and all abilities the intended target can use, for example: Semblance or bloodline traits.
