Chapter 14: Buy a House

Henry plane arrives in San Jose Airport after just 4 hours of flight. Henry already informs his parent to pick him up so he looks for them. After searching for 5 minutes, he found them waiting in the waiting room while sitting and chatting. Soon enough, they notice Henry and Susan as they come over.

Margaret then holds Susan hand as she prying her eyes all over Susan body.

Susan feels nervous as this is the first time she meets her boyfriend mother. Although she already hears from Henry how nice his mother, but it's natural she is feeling nervous now.

"You must be Susan, come here to mom." Then Margaret hugs Susan as she is feeling happy for her son finally get a girlfriend.

After chatting for a while, they decided to go back to home as here is not convenient for chatting.

Knowing Henry and his girlfriend will come, Margaret especially cooking a lot of food. After eating, then Henry tells about how he lives in the university to his parent and about his career. Margaret and Jacob just laughing as they feel their son finally has grown up.

Henry then talks about his career and caused Margaret and Jacob heard it with interest as they were curious how many money Henry has made. After hearing how many Henry has made over the past 7 months, Margaret and Jacob shocked as the number is too shocking for them.

"Mom, Dad, I want you not to work hard anymore as you know my money can support your entire life. Not saying you must quit your job if you like it, but no need to work hard or overtime anymore. I will give you $5 Million for you to do whatever you want." Henry then persuades Margaret and Jacob as he feels they should enjoy life early.

After Margaret and Jacob heard that, they agree as they know Henry net worth will not run out even if they live quite luxuriously. Even Jacob feels excited as he already feels quite tired for teaching at Stanford as many times he must work overtime and caused him to rarely meet his family if not in the morning.

Then, Margaret and Jacob decided to travel around the United States and maybe go to Europe. They know Henry did not need them to worry anymore as he is already an adult. So they decided to begin their holiday in 3 days as Jacob must settle his job as a professor at Stanford and Margaret must arrange her bookstore to her assistant.

Henry decided to live here tonight with Susan as Henry decided to buy a house tomorrow.

The next day.

Henry wakes up with a refreshing feeling. In his side, there is Susan that still sleeping, he then takes a look carefully as he feels Susan face quite adorable when she is sleeping. He then wakes up her as today they gonna buy a house. When she heard Henry want to buy a house today, she quickly gets up and rushes to the bathroom to clean herself.

Henry then quickly go to the bathroom as he wants to shower together with his girlfriend.....

After finishes clean their self and wear good clothes, Henry and Susan then go to the garage to take Jacob old car which is Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454. After that, they go to the biggest Real Estate agent as they have a detailed list of the house.

They arrived at the agent. The front desk lady immediately welcomed Henry and Susan as she can she this is potential customer judging from their temperament, especially Henry. Even though their clothes just some not really expensive clothes, but temperament can't be faked especially the like of Henry.

Temperament can only be formed by their living condition and innate status. So judging from this, the lady quickly knows this is an absolutely potential customer.

"Good Morning Sir, may I help you?" The lady politely ask

"I'm looking for some house, can you recommend one for me ?"

When the lady heard that, she smiled as she already knows her commission is secured, so she said. "It's a wise decision for you sir to choose us as we are the best agent in the San Jose area. Please follow me, sir."

Henry and Susan then followed the lady as she brought them to a room. Then the lady said to the person in the room, "Manager, this sir want to buy a house."

The person in the room is a slightly blessed lady in her 40s, she then asked Henry. "Good Morning sir, do you want to buy a house? If yes, then please sit down." Even though Henry and Susan just a teenager, but the manager know basic courtesy and know how to judge good. She assumed maybe the man is children of a rich man but whatever as long they buy the house.

Henry and Susan then sit down.

"May I ask you what budget you provide, sir?" The manager asked so she can better recommend something.

"$5 Million" Henry said in a casual manner as this money is just a little compared to his net worth now. He didn't care about $5 Million as the net worth he has now is enough for his company establishment.

When the manager and the front desk lady heard that, they shocked as this is unimaginable for them. You must know Real Estate in 1973 is not as expensive as the future as the average house is just cost for $30,000. So you can imagine what kind of house you can buy for $5 Million in 1973, so the manager and the front desk lady is shocked.

"A....Are you sure sir ?" The manager asked with a trembling tone as their most expensive house not even close to that figure. This makes the manager feels a little regrettable as she knows the $10 Million cannot fully be consumed.

"Of course, do you think I'm joking ?" Henry then asked with a sharp tone

"N...NO, it's just our most expensive house available for sale is just for $1.8 Million, so your budget exceeds my imagination a little bit." The manager hurriedly says as this probably the biggest customer she ever encountered.

"Then bring me to that house, I'd want to look at it and decided after that." Henry then stands up, seeing Henry stand up, Susan too stands up as she feels quite unbelievable too by Henry budget. But quickly she throws away the thought as this is her man!!

The manager stands up too with her little fat trembling, and quickly command the front desk lady, "Quick, inform Jack to prepare the car, tell him a big customer coming." The front desk lady then quickly search for Jack, the company driver.

"No need for that, I'm taking my car, you go in your car and guide me." Henry said as he grabs Susan's hand.

The manager then quickly go too as she didn't want the big customer wait. After 4 minutes, the manager car set sail followed by Henry car.

After driving 5 minutes, they came to a mini forest composed of a maple tree. Now it's almost time for winter, so maple leaf is everywhere in the air so they formed an amazing spectacle. Susan's eyes widen as she feels this scene is so beautiful and romantic. Now there is only two of them in the car and surrounded by maple leaf, so the atmosphere quickly goes romantic.

"It's so beautiful, it's must be nice to live here for a lifetime." Susan said while she looking at Henry who driving with a tender eye. This moment her love for Henry reached it's peak so she can't bear steal a kiss to Henry's cheek.

Henry just ignored Susan as he is focused on driving, but his smile can't be obstructed and he quickly think about something. After 5 minutes of a romantic journey, they finally arrived at a big estate. The name of the estate is Flood Estate and its address is 331 Greer Road, Woodside and the estate style is a Classic America. (Search for the address if you want take a look at the estate)

Built in 1941, the Flood Estate sits on more than 40 acres of gorgeous rolling hills. The property includes plentiful gardens, a gatehouse, tennis court, swimming pool, and colonial-style main house with nine bedrooms.
