Leo gets off his chair, goes and kneels on the floor. He puts his ear to her belly. "We really are looking forward to meeting you soon. Please, stay healthy and come to us soon." He kissed her belly and got back up. He sat down and finished eating the food they made together. 'Honestly, I wish every day could be simple like this but, that is not the case due to our special secret lives we have both been leading.'
Kitty watches Leo for a short time before saying, "I'm going back to my room. I have to wrap some of my books. They may burn you if you touch them directly. I don't want you to get injured while helping me." She gets up and walks back to her room. She knew that Leo could find his way back to the room now that he knew where it was. She got back to the room and picked up a book, then grabbed a cloth. Carefully she wrapped the book up and started stacking them on the bed.
Leo cleans up the dishes and washes them quickly before he heads up to the bedroom. "What are the contents of these books? I know you said that they are from your father and that he was a warlock. So does that make you a hybrid?" He looks at the wrapped books and picks up a container.
"I am. That is why I have all these different powers. I don't even know if I have uncovered them all yet." Kitty turns and watches Leo. "If you feel anything through the wrapped books, I will have to put them in the box. I don't want you to get injured. You need to be able to drive us to your place." She finishes wrapping the books and pulls some things from the closet.
He picks up the books and can feel the slight rejection from them, but it doesn't hurt. He starts packing them up. "I'll be fine. It just feels like the books are rejecting me. Is there anything in the closet you'll need help getting out?" He finishes getting the books all packed up.
"There is a box with books on the floor. The books need to go on the empty shelves." She pulled out some picture frames and set them up around the room. "We have many ways to desert a place. I'm setting this room up to be a funeral room. To be in honour of my mother who passed away." She moves out of his way and lets him grab the box of books. "Thank you for your help. I'm going to make a phone call. We will be taking Cindy with us. She is the one person I need from here to come with me." She picks up the phone and calls Cindy. "Hey, Cindy. You need to pack the essentials. I'm leaving town in the morning."
"What do you mean, Kitty? Is there an emergency?" Cindy sits on the couch and listens carefully.
"Yes, Julie is going to lead the evacuation for me. I am in the most danger, so I am leaving first, and I want you to come with me. I need you to help me with the baby. There's too much to explain but start your packing, and We will come to get you so that we can leave in the morning."
"I understand. I will pack up everything that is needed. I take it we will be moving in the vehicle you have set aside at your place. I don't have a lot that I have to pack. I need about three hours, and then I will be ready. I will take care of you and the baby."
"Thank you. Yes, I need to move all the books here. We will come to get you in three hours then. See you soon." She hung up the phone. "Okay, so as you heard, I am taking Cindy with us. I forgot to mention that she is my midwife. She has gone to school for this." Kitty looks at Leo to see his reaction.
'I guess them having trained midwives would be the easiest for their kind.' "One more person at my place won't matter much. Besides, it would be best to have someone there when the baby is born, and a regular doctor wouldn't understand why you have ears and a tail. So bringing along Cindy is a wise choice. You said she needs three hours to get ready? That gives us enough time to finish up here and head on over." He smiles at her.
