Chapter 6: The start
After Ji Won recovered from her sudden outburst, they sat at a bench nearby that has enough trees around to protect them from the blazing sun. Talking and laughing, they chatted for a long while without a care of the time. They have a lot of catching up to do since they were pretty close during the time they worked together when they were young.
They were having a good time talking when their conversation got disrupted by the ringing of Ho Young's phone. He fished it out from his coat in-pocket and looked at the screen. Seeing that it was his secretary who is calling, he excused himself to answer the call. It was a call reminding him of an important lunch meeting that actually escaped his mind.
Ending the call, Ho Young turned to Ji Won with an apologetic smile. "Sorry. That was my secretary. I almost forgot that I still have some work to do. Haha." He scratched his cheek sheepishly as he glanced at her face, trying to gauge her reaction.
Ji Won smiled at him in return. "No worries. Even I lost track of time. Of course work is important. I shouldn't keep you any longer. You better get going. We wouldn't want you to be late, would we?" She stood up from the bench and Ho Young did the same. She reached out her hand then Ho Young took it and shook her hand firmly. Ji Won watched their linked hands, amused. She chuckled as she raised her eyes to look at the gorgeous man before her.
"Mmm, you really are a business man now."
Ho Young simply replied with a confused look that made Ji Won elaborate her words. "It's the way you shake hands. It was firm, a typical trait that a good business person must possess."
Ho Young looked at his hand that held hers just seconds ago. He smiled and again took her hand and passed her his phone. He shrugged his shoulders. "Well, it's been a long time since I changed profession. Anyways... Give me your contact details." He pointed with his chin at his phone on Ji Won's hand.
"Ahaha!. Sure..." Ji Won laughs at his straight forward demand. She dialed and called her number using Ho Young's phone then took out her own phone. She then showed her phone to him where his phone number flashes on the screen as the caller. Afterwards, she returned his phone.
Nodding his head in approval, he saved her number as she does his on her phone contacts. The both of them secretly smiling. They were silently immersed on their own thoughts. It was Ho Young who broke the silence between them. "Gotta run. Let's go have dinner some time... I mean hangout. We still have a lot of catching up to do... My treat. "
Ji Won felt giddy with the word 'dinner'. She also noticed the sudden nervousness in Ho Young. To change the topic a bit and avoid any awkwardness, she smiles teasingly at him. "Of course it's your treat."
They both laughed heartily then after a while, they bade goodbye with an agreement that Ho Young will call her if he's not so busy and has the time to hang out with her. Ji Won is still recuperating so she has a lot of free time on her hands.
