As Kichimuri ran in the darkness of the night alongside the other V agents, he found it easy keeping up with their speed. Really having nothing to do as they ran towards their destination, he began observing them as they ran. He found it weird that they all wore uniform outfits of a black coat over a black suit with a black tie and a white shirt, topping it all off with a black hat. In his mind he attributed the clothing choices to maintain agents' anonymity and stealth. His own black on black on black on white outfit fit perfectly with everyone else's. Tonight was to be his first ghoul hunting operation meant to test out his onsite application of his decade long training. Suppressing his excitement at finally getting to kill something and coming into contact with the creatures he came into this world for, Kichimuri could hardly wait to get to where they were going tonight. Making sure to keep pace with the others they soon left the 1st ward and headed straight to the 6th ward if he went by the map he memorized and his sense of location.
Running in the darkness of the night, Kichimuri took the time to observe the man leading the group. He'd introduced himself as Kaiko. He obviously wore the same thing as everyone else but Kichimuri kept wondering what happened that caused his appearance. Hell, the man was bald, had black lips and no irises. Kichimuri couldn't imagine him blending in properly with those features. Probably was here because he'd be useless when it came to espionage and going undercover. The man stood out too much. It felt like the only reason everyone else wore hats that covered their faces was so he'd be able to blend in with the group with his weird eyes. It felt like a huge inconvenience all for the sake of one man. Maybe he was that good of an agent? These were the idle thoughts that wondered through the mind of Kichimuri as the group entered the 6th ward.
"Halt, we've arrived at the 6th ward. We're here tonight for our newest recruit's virgin hunt. We've gotten word about a newly rising gang of ghouls called the Red Foxes. They have been spotted to all hunt together in dark grey parkas and red kitsune masks. We are tasked with exterminating them before they raise the alert level in the area. Spread out in pairs and find any tracks or clues to their location. Once found do not engage alone, signal for backup and retreat while holding on until we get there. If you find any other ghoul not associated with the foxes during your search kill on sight only after ascertaining the threat level. You have your orders. Don't die tonight, move out." The four other agents moved out in pairs in opposite directions leaving Muri with Kaiko who just finished giving his orders. "You're coming with me kid, let's see what you're capable of. Try not to die tonight, I won't help you during your first operation. Let's go do some recon". And so they did, they spent a few hours combing through dark alleys and abandoned building for any ghoul activity all the while concentrating on abandoned and dark areas close to places with high rates of foot traffic or residential areas with high population density. It was one thing to read about all these methods of tracking ghouls in the records library but to experience it had Muri feeling only one thing, bored. He still kept himself on high alert but he didn't want to spend the whole night aimlessly going around the place. Fortunately for him he possessed his radar ability that helps him to track people as blood bags which also differentiated between humans and ghouls. While he was tempted to ditch Kaiko and grab a human to snack on for the night, he suppressed his urges and focused on finding the ghouls on his radar. It wasn't until around an hour past midnight that he finally picked up a moving group of about 13 ghouls. He looked towards their directions and used his greatly heightened vision to look into the distance and focus on the group of figures in dark grey parkas and uniform designs of red kitsune masks. He'd finally found them. His blood rushing through his body at the excitement of finally fighting and killing something after a decade and a half, he racked his brain of a method to alert Kaiko of the ghouls without making him suspicious of his capabilities. He was just about to risk it when he noticed the the paths they were were taking would collide soon at the speed they were going. Muri allowed a vicious grin upon his face as he prepared for battle, his grip tightening on the handle of his black quinque that would soon be bathed in the blood of his first prey in this world. From the moment he'd come into contact with the quinque, he'd been discreetly pouring bits of his energy into his weapon in hopes of activating its cells and changing it to a living constantly evolving weapon that would grow with him into godhood. At this point he had yet to see any changes but he didn't give up. He quite liked the form of this weapon and he wasn't keen on constantly changing his weapon as he got stronger. Taking a deep breath to prepare himself, they were much closer to the ghouls now and both parties had already noticed each other. Kaiko had been quick to spot them and notify the others to converge on his location.
Miko Katsune had been having a great week of hunting with her gang of ghouls as they had recently moved into this ward looking for available hunting grounds. She'd heard rumors of a ghoul named Orca in charge of this ward but didn't think whoever it was would mind a few ghoul eating a few humans here and there. And if whoever it was did, she'd kill them and take over. If that wasn't possible she and her team could always pack up and run to another ward. Hell she didn't mind abandoning her team to die if it meant she could survive to eat another day. They could try submitting to Orca but she doubted whoever it was would be quick to accept a group that just tried to invade their territory and kill them. She knew she wouldn't. Maybe she'd just submit if she got caught and not try to kill whoever Orca was, considering the person had the strength to keep control of an entire ward. She wasn't arrogant enough to think she had that level of strength, yet. She'd keep fighting, surviving and growing until she got strong enough to take control of one of the weaker wards then raise a small elite army of ghouls like her who'd rule and feast like kings. Yeah she'd make sure she and her army never went hungry again. Miko was drawn out of her thoughts upon noticing a pair of figures who were heading on a collision course with them. Thinking they'd be a pair of ghouls out for a midnight snack like them, she decided to head towards them and maybe pry or force some information out of them on the current situation in this ward. It wasn't until she got closer that she noticed their weird matching getups consisting of a black coat over a black formal suit matched with a black tie, white shirt and to top it all off a black hat. She was wondering what kinda weirdo ghouls didn't even wear mask when she noticed the briefcases they were carrying. Instantly she went on alert as she already knew that was a dangerous sign as only ghoul investigators carry around briefcases. She watched with caution as both figures got closer and began to transform their suitcases into weapons. She watched the gap between them become shorter as one of the two investigators seemed to rush forward with a black sword like weapon. She was stunned at his speed and agility as she only had time to quickly jump back only to feel chilling fear as he tore his weapon straight down the middle of one of her men. She could only stare in horror through the blood and gore at the pair of haunting golden eyes that seemed to shine in the dark coupled with a vicious grin on his face as he seemed to take great pleasure in killing the ghoul in front of him. Miko immediately knew she and her gang had encountered a dangerous unpredictable enemy not even taking into account the other figure who had yet to make a move. She briefly considered retreating before deciding they'd have a higher chance of survival by risking it all to end this fight quickly before they called in any reinforcements. With a roar she and her comrades rushed towards the man with golden eyes from all possible directions risking it all and keeping an eye out for his partner standing a distance away.
The moment the gang of ghouls were within reach, Kichimuri's body was so tense that he jetted off like he was on a tight spring after releasing his quinque as he rushed towards the nearest ghoul. Knowing he couldn't utilize any of his non-human abilities, he decided to focus on killing them all with his strength, agility and swordsmanship. The moment he cleaved the ghoul in half and splashed his blood everywhere like a water balloon, he felt a contentment and ecstatic exhilaration like he'd just come home to his lover after being away in a desert for a long long time. He allowed a vicious grin on his face as his body bathed in the blood of his first ever prey in this world. He so wanted to have a taste but was aware of Kaiko examining his performance. Suppressing his bloodlust, he exerted his sensory radar as the ghoul in grey parkas and red kitsune masks came at him from all directions. Using his eyes and radar to time the arrival of each of them he formed his plan of attack quickly by deciding to work them off one by one in a clockwise direction depending on how close they were to him. He decided to avoid getting injured since he didn't want to have to answer any questions about why he could visibly heal from injuries. Having his plan of attack figured out he jumped quickly to his left dodging the kagune attack of the ghoul coming at him. Taking a moment to analyze the kagune of all members of the gang, he was mildly surprised to find they were all bikaku type ghouls. Recalling his knowledge and training, he realized he wasn't capable of long range attacks to overwhelm them so he decided to hit fast and hard. He moved into the personal space of the ghoul attacking him and cut off her head before kicking it towards the next approaching while grabbing her body to block an attack from another approaching ghoul's kagune. Not wanting to waste time and risk losing the upper hand, he upped his speed another notch and dodged two attacks from two incoming ghouls. He passed between them to cleave in half the ghoul right behind them before turning around to slice off their heads as they were turning around to attack him. He got in between the falling bodies and kicked them towards two pairs of ghouls. He narrowly dodged a trio of attacks trying to corner and kill him as he felt adrenaline pumping through his veins telling him this is what it meant to be alive. Proving your right to exist through battle and rising up on the corpses of the dead. Kichimuri felt a thrill he hadn't felt for so long since his battle with the god of his world. He almost cried as he killed the last of the ghouls coming at him. Viciously grinning beneath his black hat, he looked up at the last one who was probably the leader. He could sense her fear and looked at the curvy figure defying the grey parka trying to hide her gender. She stood there tense seemingly looking for an avenue of escape. She unleashed her reddish orange bikaku kagune as she rushed at him but not before surprising him as she had a rare case of multiple tails. She brought out three tails which seemed to be her limit before sending them at him from different directions. Considering his options, Kichimuri lagged his movement then tripled his speed to throw off her perception and groove. He manage to get in close with a swing of his weapon but she contract the reach of her kagune to block it with two of her tail before using the last tail to try and pierce him. Thinking quickly he dodged to the side before kicking her in the face with enough strength to take off a human's head. The mask exploded into pieces as the ghoul screamed when some pieces tore into her face. Kichimuri quickly retreated to prevent getting injured by her raging tails that viciously swung erratically in order to somehow hit him. He watched as she kept hitting everything around her with a wrathful vengeance. Luckily they were in a deserted part of the 6th ward. Not that Kichimuri particularly cared about civilian casualties caught in the crossfire but he'd rather not have that in his record for his first ever operation, he was trying to build up a pristine reputation here to mask his undercover less than honorable future activities. Upon sensing the female ghoul tiring out from overexerting herself with the pain of being blinded by the mask pieces, Muri rushed at her while concentrating to cancelling the noise of his movements. By the time she sensed his presence it was too late as he stabbed his sword right through the back of her head. Looking into her ravaged bleeding face he could tell she was a beautiful girl and the beautiful reddish orange hair going down her curvy body showed how with her strength she was able to assemble a somewhat formidable gang of ghouls that would follow her to hunt across the wards of Tokyo. Her body slumped to the ground as Kichimuri withdrew his sword from her skull. He turned around to see Kaiko and the other agents who had long arrived watching him as though judging his performance and liking what they saw. They approached him and examined his face and to note any psychological issues such as fear or nausea from murdering for the first but simply nodded when they found no such issues. It's not like Muri would have any such issues when all his existence he'd witnessed such things through the memories of the billions of lives lost during the war plus having personally experienced it as he practiced his battle techniques on the underwater civilizations back on his home world. Showing them an arrogant smirk to hide his unnatural maturity, he raised his arms wide to his sides as though to show them an art exhibit he'd just set up and wanted to hear them sing his praises about what a great job he'd done.
Letting out a deep sigh, Kaiko examined the bloody scene created by his latest recruit. He'd originally stayed back to see what the kid could do before jumping in if he was overwhelmed but he was really surprised at his capabilities. What kind of monsters were they making at the garden these days. First it was Arima and now this brat. At this rate they'd have human monsters running around wiping out all the ghouls. He could see something special in this one though. Kichimuri Washuu, an illegitimate bastard of the Washuu patriarch and head chairman of the CCG. Seems he had on his hands another battle genius like Arima if not better. Kaiko was excited about training this one, anything to strengthen the organization. "You did good kid. Judging by the capabilities of these ghouls you just killed I'd say estimate you to be at the level of a Rank 1 investigator bordering on First class. You'll be given the corresponding allowance and freedom to move around provided that you respond and show up when you're called for missions. You have a responsibility to exterminate any ghoul you come across. Keep your communication lines open for when I call upon you train you. Do you have any questions kid?" Thinking to himself a bit, the kid shook his head. "Okay then here on this note is the information on the locations and procedures you'll need to know when you want to contact the organization in the event you lose your communicator or you want to pick up your monthly allowance or anything else you need whether it be identity papers, certificates of ownership, new weapons etc. Again remember to keep your communicator on as there will be weekly check ins to see if you're still alive and summons when there is a mission. Memorize the details on the note and destroy it when you're done. Notify us on any ghouls you come across and exterminate even the ones you couldn't handle so that an agent could be dispatched to handle it. Okay, that should be it. Welcome to the Vasuki Organization, we are the hands in the darkness keeping the balance between humans and ghouls. Try your best not to die kid"
Kichimuri was sitting on the roof overlooking the bloody scene long after the other agents had left after telling him everything he needed to know. He'd long memorized and destroyed the note taking note of the locations on the way to the wards he intended to go ghoul hunting in. After making sure there was no one around to possibly observe what he was doing, he drew the blood of the thirteen ghouls towards him. He'd spent the last two hours examining the bodies of the ghouls and noting the make up of how they got their powers. He attributed it to the red organ also known as the kakuhou growing at a point along their spine that stored their RC cells which when released form the kagune which they use to fight. Kichimuri noted that he could absorb the blood of the ghouls right now and easily form a similar kakuhou and kagune to theirs. He wasn't even tempted as he'd figured out something from observing and comparing their bodies. Why should he take and copy the kagune of other ghouls when he could be innovative and mould a unique kakuhou that suited him and his needs. Thus Kichimuri merely condensed the blood moving towards him doing the same to the RC cells contained in them so as to raise their quality. He'd create a kagune stronger than any other with only the peak quality of RC cells. He couldn't have any common quality of kagune. Only the best would do for him. Muri could feel the ambition rising in him as he set a goal for himself to work towards. By the condensed blood and RC cells had gotten to him, it had shrunk massively leaving behind unneeded bloody waste that the clean up crew coming soon could take care of. He found that he could use blood to break down the bodies to gain more value out of them and strengthen his physique but he decided to not do it now since the arriving clean up crew would be expecting bodies to clean up. Taking one last look at the site of his first battle and true slaughter in this world, Kichimuri allowed himself another vicious grin as he turned around to disappear into the shadows beginning his long campaign to hunt down ghouls and create the strongest kagune ever seen in this world.
Wow another long chapter. I hope you guys liked this battle chapter. It’s my first time writing one and I don’t believe in drawn out fights. You can see it in the fighting style of the mc. He believes in speed and vicious one hit kills. Of course real drawn out fights are not to be wasted on these scrubs. Our mc has finally killed someone apart from his mother but that doesn’t count. Please notify me of any errors you notice so can be careful from now on. Thank you for the support
