Chapter 1: Number One - My Friend From The Other Side - Vex
As I woke up from my cold bed, I turned on the lamp beside me. The warm light flowing from the hot bulb lit up my room beautifully. I sat up, only half awake. Part of me wanted to go back to sleep, but the other knew I had a big day ahead of me. I got out of my bed, clumsily walked to the door, opened it, and left the room. I walked down the stairs, took a deep breath and smelt a familiar scent coming from the kitchen. I couldn't put my finger on it so I rushed to see what it was. As I rounded the corner, I saw my big sister, Melisa Harvel, holding a spatula flipping pancakes in a skillet. As she went to flip another, I snuck in and yelled, "Are those pancakes?!"
She jumped and sent a half cooked pancake slice hurling toward the ceiling. The uncooked pancake slapped on the ceiling, then landed back in the skillet. She took it off of the burner, turned off the stove, and laughed. "Parker, that wasn't rly nice!", she said still laughing. "Sorry.", I said "Just thought it would be funny!" "Well, I've made some breakfast for the both of us", she said with a wide smile on her face. I sat down at the breakfast table and stared through the doorway leading to the livingroom. My mom, Diana Harvel, rounded the corner and sat down next to me. "You know it's your first day of your new job right?", my mom asked my sister. she replied, "Yes ma'am." in an annoyed way
The doorbell rang so I hoped up from my seat and opened the door. I was greeted with a face full of fist
, slumped to the ground, and blackedut. I woke up and the first thing I realized was that I was in a basement of sorts. The second is that I was in a chair with my hands and legs firmly taped down. A man wearing a black and white tux walked in, turned on a lamp, and shines it directly into my eyes. "Do you know why you are here?" he asked. I remained silent. He got annoyed and punched.
me I'm the face. I could feel my nose bleeding. I manage to rip off the tape and make a break for it. The man grabed me by the back of my collar, pulled me down to the floor, and started to kick me.
I blacked out again and woke up two and a half hours later. I looked over to my right and focused my eyes on this giant blood puddle and what seemed to be a body beside me. "did I do this?" , I asked myself. "No", couldn't have been me, I told myself after examining the body.
I look beside the bloody mess and see this guy standing over the limp body, looking at it. the figure seemed to have red eyes. The dark figure looked at me, smiled, and waved. After that the figure disappeared out of existence. That was the first time I used my powers, and I still don't know what all happened when I was unconscious.
