Chapter 4: Mysterious NPC.

Only a miracle could save Einar. And it happened. Inside the capsule, on the Einar`s body, the bracelet first lit up dimly. Then a bright green light enveloped it completely. The nanobots were destroyed. But the state of the brain was heavy. The bracelet gifted by the grandmother not only saved Einar's life but also started to restore the body and brain cells. Unfortunately, all the energy was wasted on the destruction of viruses. Such a state could be called neither alive nor dead.

But, he was lucky.

The bracelet protected him with mystical force. Unfortunately, the nervous system was damaged seriously so that the body fell into a coma.

The fact was that Einar was in a special capsule with automated life support systems.

Bracelet also restored his damaged organs.

After Einar got into a coma, Anna let his grandmother know about the incident.

In a state of a shock, poor grandmother dropped the tea she drank while reading a book.

Anna responded quickly and called an ambulance.

After 15 minutes, the doctor came and began to study the data coming from the virtual capsule.

Since the virtсapsule was equipped with an analyzer of poisons and viruses, it showed that a deep coma was due to a stroke.

The doctor assured Mrs. Angela that the most dangerous moment was over.

"Mrs. Angela, Einar's health is no longer in danger. Unfortunately, because of the stress and the intense work on his project, he got into such a situation."

"Doctor, I told him many times, take a rest, go for a walk. But he did not listen to me. Tell me please, dock, when he wakes up?"

"Hm, I honestly tell you that no one can answer this question precisely. Everything depends on him. For the whole history of modern medicine, the maximum period of being in a coma was thirty-seven years. But do not worry, I think the chances that he will wake up in a month are high enough, I personally checked the brain waves and the data shows that everything will be fine."

"Thank you, doctor. God, it's good that the danger has passed."

"Mrs. Angela do not forget to give him medicine."

After talking with the doctor, the grandmother went to the virtcapsule and hugged the device.

"Einar wake up, please. Don't leave me alone in this world."

Tears began to drip...

Somewhere in the office of the company "Nirvana Enterprises" that created the most popular game in the world.

A hologram of a middle-aged man stood in the middle of a room.

"Sir, my observers reported on the condition of the young man."

"Did he die?"

"Sorry, sir, he stayed alive. But now completely harmless."

"Coma condition?"

"Yes, sire. According to the reports of the doctor who visited Mr. Einer, it was a stroke. The data from his virtcapsule coincide with the data of our experimental objects."

"Well done Saltis. And do not forget to prepare an analysis of data for the project "alpha players"

"Sir, thank you."

***

All of us in our lives before doing something always plan it in advance.

We think that we have considered everything.

No error can occur and that everything will go as it was intended without the slightest deviations.

It has always been like that.

So thought Mr. Saltis.

For him, the life of a boy who was subjected to attacks by nanorobots was not worth a broken penny.

But how could he have imagined that the artifact left by his father could save his life and moreover be the factor that will change the whole story.

The abilities of the human brain are limitless.

Eighty billion cells that are connected to each other by their axons and dendrites control the body and thoughts of each person.

But the case of Einar is unique.

First, in the time of the Nanobots attack, he was in a virtual capsule and his brain was immersed in the game.

Secondly, even after a virus attack, he did not disconnect from the game.

In the third, an alternative intellect that takes control of the body after the player leaves the game began his work immediately after the attack of the ranaviruses.

But first, you need to clarify one thing.

The player can leave the game only in a safe place.

After the player has left the magical realm, the alternate intellect takes control of the body.

A player may choose a couple of functions before leaving.

For example, leave your personage to rest in a special room.

In this case, when you return to the game character gets a buff to experience.

That increases the speed of gaining experience by 20 percent for a certain amount of time which depends on off-line.

The more you are offline, the longest is your buff.

But there are other options.

For example, players who have chosen for themselves different production professions.

A player under the control of an alternative intellect could create scrolls, weapons or armors.

But the chance of a successful creation was much lower, and plus the player did not get any experience from it.

Low creation and lost experience did not make this option very popular.

But let's go back to Einar.

Usually, if the players left their characters in the library after they left the game, the player would simply get a five percent experience buff.

Since the book must be comprehended by the hero himself.

Even if a character under the control of an alternative intellect reads a million books, then there will be no benefit.

But not in the case of Einar.

The creators of the game could not even imagine that someone could be in the game while being in a coma.

Well, if the only coma, but it was not only that.

Einar's brain lost its ability to control the body and was not conscious.

On the other hand, his subconscious mind worked like a clock.

Without errors, without fatigue and without days off.

He memorized all the books and analyzed all the information that was there.

The alternate intellect worked in tandem with him.

This allowed the brain to read the book much faster. At least five times faster.

But this was not the last strangeness.

Einer's mind was as if in a fog. He could not consciously make a decision or leave the library.

Despite this, he answered questions and could conduct simple dialogues with players or an NPC.

2155 A.D.

A whole year passed after Einar fell into a coma.

Several times the doctors came and checked the data from the virtual capsules.

And every time they said that Einar had excellent health.

That he will wake up from this eternal dream.

Days, months passed but Einar did not wake up.

Mrs. Angela despaired so much that she invited a good specialist to be examined.

It cost her huge costs.

She herself lost her weight and sleep, because of her beloved grandson.

After visiting a specialist, she became much better.

Mr. Lennard conducted a small study of Einar's brain waves and reported the approximate date of his return to life.

"Einar, the doctor said that in a year you would wake up dear."

"Miauuuuu"

"Buere missed you too."

***

Over the past year, the game Magic Realm has become very popular.

No game has ever been so exciting and realistic.

Several times there were even global updates.

The system corrected itself and increased the stability and development of the realm.

But the most interesting moment was happening in the library.

"What kind of bad luck. Because of the fucking ferocious animals, I ruined armor. Now I have to buy a new one."

"Stop complaining. What prevented you from fixing your armor before the trip, bro."

"How did I know that this time the librarian gave us a dungeon map."

"Yeah, it wasn't bad. We killed a bunch of mobs and also good uncommon boots fell from the boss."

"How do you think, can we still get the quest today or not?"

"Are you a fool? Look, what a queue there is."

Where the player pointed out, Einar sat at the table and read a book and at times answered some player's questions.

Behind this player was a huge queue.

Everyone wanted to talk to this mystical NPC.

Half a year ago, one of the players who found the dungeons and earned a lot of items wrote a detailed guide.

There were many such guides in the forum.

BUT, to the surprise of all the players, he received a quest from a simple mystical librarian.

Now every day in the library there was a big line of players.

If you are lucky and the NPC will sit at the table, there was a small chance that after the conversation you could get a dungeon map or some interesting advice.
