Chapter 24: Father and Daughter

EMPIRE DRAGON HOTEL

Shun stepped out from the lift, followed behind were Rudolf and Kier.

The hotel manager meets them in the lounge; relief exhibit all over her face upon seeing them approaching.

"Good evening, President Crow. I'm glad you are nowhere."

"How was it?" Shun asked.

"He's requesting for entertainers, boss."

Shun's face darkened. After he took over the hotel, he transformed it completely. He fired out every hostess and escort entertainer, then replaced them into proper pubs and disco bars with professional DJs and live singers.

He gestured at the manager to leave, then they resumed walking towards the Cabana Suites, his uncle staying.

When the bodyguard sees him, they open the door and let them in but throw dangerous gazes towards the two men behind him. However, they did not quiver but responded to the same threat they threw at them.

"Ah! My nephew! Look at you! You look like a real president now!" his laughs are a mockery.

Shun's left brow twitches upward but ignores his words.

"Uncle Martin, don't expect me to treat you special so you can enjoy your stay. I have a suggestion instead. You can transfer to another hotel anytime you wish," he states sarcastically.

The old man in his age 60s laughs annoyingly. "Why do I? I am still part of the board with my shares."

"And you know I don't allow sex services in my hotel," Shun emphasizes the words 'sex services'. He also shows that he has the authority since he was the president of the Crow Corporation entrusted by the Chairman.

"You truly enjoy being the President for three years, huh?" Martin drank his liquor in one go. He is showing irritation towards him.

Shun is aware of Martin's great interest in taking over the corporation. The old man has spoken of whom he wants to inherit his companies. That makes Martin persuade the favor of the Board of Investors, especially since the Chairman adopted Shun to carry the Crow name legitimately.

Another heated conversation between Shun and Martin was when a beautiful woman interrupted them.

"Papa!" she planted a kiss on the old man's left cheek. "Hello, my dear cousin."

The woman cast a glanced at him then greeted with extra gentleness to her voice. She sounded friendly but hesitant to show closeness towards him. Of course, he always wears that solemn expression towards her.

And Shun seeing her made his face frown. He did not hide his anger. Although the woman always shows geniality towards him, he doesn't like how she acts like a spoiled princess and is rude to other people.

"Hello, Claire," he greeted back without warmth in his voice. He could sense her disappointment.

Claire smiled awkwardly and regained her composure fast. "I am glad to see you tonight to discuss why we are here." She tried to change the atmosphere by bringing up her business. Nothing she knows is what made Shun irritate even more.

"Good evening, gentlemen, and a lady..." Blaire entered the room boldly. She then sits down beside Shun on the sofa, crossing her legs then pursing her lips into a smug smile.

"Ah, dear Blaire!" the old man widened his smiles.

"Good to see you, Master De La Rue," sarcasm could sense in her voice, Blaire making sure of it.

Claire's face frowns, unpleasant to her presence.

"I believe we do not request you to join this meeting," Claire pouted sourly.

"Silly of you, Lady Claire." Blaire laughs.

"It is not funny, Miss Blaire," Claire sprouted annoyingly.

"Indeed. But you must be mistaken about laying your business to the president. Were you aware of that? Because it is unnecessary," she shows who owns the ground, and so she would never back down.

This father and daughter think they are the most important noble, arriving in the country and ordering around.

"Who are you? So what if I talk my business directly to the president?" Claire said arrogantly. She even lifts her chin, looking at Blair.

She laughs. "I am the Event Organizer Head, so all the events go through me." She lifts her chin while answering the arrogant princess.

"If you desire to talk to the president, then I can arrange the appointment for you," she smiled scornfully.

Claire pisses off staring at this woman... only she and Shun have the blood relation, not with this so-called half-sister of his.

Most of all, Blaire made sure to shut her off, and her father just laughed the whole time. Claire glared at him. It angers her most, his father had an eye on Blaire, and she's annoyed about it already as she ended up marrying Meisha.

"Come on, ladies, let us just enjoy the dinner. I make orders ahead," Martin is trying to cool down the fiery atmosphere inside his suite.

"You shouldn't bother yourself. We are on our way out." Shun gets up from the sofas and offers his hand to help Blaire get up.

"Blaire will hear your requests, Claire. She is my Event Director, so that you can tell her your concerns with her. It is her job," he added meaningfully.

Hearing this only means, Shun won't spare time with her anymore.

"See you first thing in the morning tomorrow, Lady Claire." She hooked her hand into Shun's arm. She smiled proudly.

Claire cannot stand seeing this woman without feeling the anger. She watches the siblings swallowed by the door before her eyes. What sums up her anger is that Shun only shows sweet gestures towards his sister.

Her best friends from High Society kept showing interest in Shun, but he just ignored them. Sometimes, she wants to doubt Shun's sexual orientation. Is he gay?
