Chapter 3: 2.5 Young, Rich and Hot.

"HELLO BELLA"
"WHAT IS IT KATE!"
I had a huge headache.
Was this a sign?
Maybe I should just cancel.
Sighing I turned around to see my best friend since birth.
"Sooooo. What are we wearing?".
I peeked into my closet.
What else?
"Black and black of course".
She rolled her eyes.
Kate was half Filipina and half white. Just like me. Except I was brunette and she was blonde.
We flew back and forth between L.A and Manila quite often and recently moved to Philippines permanently as per request of our families.
Her parents owned probably 85% of all the gas stations in Metro Manila.
"You always wear black".
I smiled. "It's the color of my soul".
She looked up from her phone.
Ah here it comes.
Three. Two. One.
"So you gonna spill on this mystery guy or what?"
Right on cue.
"It's been a while since you hooked up...more so talk...about anything regarding to the opposite sex".
This wasn't wrong . I was so over boys. Cliche, I know. Everyone I knew just wanted one thing.
How cringe.
"I mean Bells. You also calmed down quite a bit".
I hissed back at Kate.
"The past is the past Kate".
The past is over.
She laughed.
"Calm down it's not unusual. We're young, rich and hot. What else are little rich kids like us supposed to do but spend mommy and daddy's money to fill up the void of them never being home".
I turned around to look at her. We both knew how true this was, but it was more of a joke now.
But Maybe to Kate it wasn't that much of a joke. I was used to being on my own. You just adapt to the type of environment you grew up in.
"I mean I wasn't the one who just up and quit the scene suddenly"
Here we go again.
"Kate I—"
Right before I could say anything back I was interrupted by Martha.
"Miss Bella. What time would you like the driver to pick you today"
Martha, my maid since childhood.
I didn't want to get into this now with Kate.
"9:30 pm Martha, thank you"
She nodded and left my room.
I looked back at Kate.
"Kate. We both know that...that lifestyle wasn't the most healthiest. I love you and I'm sorry for leaving you alone that year"
How annoying. I hated when she brought up things like this.
She looked up at me. I could tell she was hurt.
"Bella. I'm sorry too. Let's just have fun tonight. It's been a while since you've been out".
She's right.
It has been a while since we've been out together. She found herself a new partying crew not too long after I left the partying scene.
Kate looked genuinely excited. I smiled at her.
I didn't hate Kate. Not at all. I just wanted to grow up.
More or less I was just tired of the fake people.
Guess I can't cancel after all.
"Let's have fun tonight. You can have the new guy. He's not bad. Half too"
She licked her lips.
"Yum. My favorite"
