Chapter 1: Prologue

In a dark room lit only by the roaring fireplace two men sat in matching leather recliners. A oak coffee table spanned the gap between them. A dark green carpet laid underneath concealing the dark hard wood flooring. Tall book cases seemingly with no end stood like guards around the edge of the room.

*Chink* the sound of ice shifting in the man's bourbon glass echoed out.

"How about it, are you willing to make the trade?" inquired the man, leaning forward.

"Hmm..." I thought about it, as I stroked my barely growing stubble, " So let me get this straight. This fragment I found is a piece of a long dead god---"

"Yes, named Kronos, and he was a titan not a god to be exact." The man interrupted, relaxing into his chair.

"Well whatever he was, you're saying that you, a god, is willing to exchange it for a chance that I can be reborn in any world I want?" I continued, resting my head on my left fist.

"A crude summary, but yes." The god replied, amusement dancing in his eyes.

"Well, then" A rare smile gracing my lips, as I placed a golden knuckle bone on the table and slid in towards him, " A pleasure doing business with you."
