Chapter 309: Under the stars

Pavel was embarrassed to see his boss dumbfounded at the sight of Aleksis. Alaric was staring at her and seemed to forgot how to blink. Pavel hurriedly picked up all the documents from the desk and excused himself.

Aleksis looked at the departing man with a smile on her lips, and when he disappeared behind the door, she immediately jumped into Alaric's lap who was still astonished at her transformation.

"Why are you looking at me like that? You're staring at me as if you're hungry and I'm your food..."

Alaric swallowed hard again. He couldn't find the words to say.

"Gosh, did a cat eat your tongue, huh? How come you are not saying anything?" asked Aleksis, pretending she did not notice that her new appearance had shocked Alaric.
