Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Brain Eater

Gyrom's personal cave room was a large and spacious soft rectangle shaped area that looked to be about 21 feet long and 14 feet wide upon initial viewing.

When I entered the room I tossed the head to the floor and let go of the body to inspect my new cave room.

There were a total of five torch lights on each corner and one in the center opposite to the entrance, the room was unremarkable and mostly empty.

Underneath the center torch there was a large green fur carpet spread out which I assumed functioned as a bed or resting area.

To the left of the carpet there was a row of large sealed ceramic urns that looked primitive in design and craft all identical to one another colored a soft beige.

And to the right side of the carpet was a large wooden chest with a metallic outline and lock hole which I assumed was iron.

Out of curiosity I decided to check out the first closest urn to me and unsealed the lid what followed immediately after was an unpleasant surprise.

My senses after evolution were much more greater than my yellow goblin form and when I removed the lid my nose was immediately assaulted by the stench of old rotting feces.

I had breathed in a mouthful and nearly vomited as I gagged and choked on the rancid taste and smell.

I quickly sealed the lid and removed the urn from the room leaving it outside by the goblin tunnels.

I was reluctant to try the other urns but my curiosity got the best of me and I proceeded to unseal the remaining urns.

Two of them were filled with water while the other two were filled with a strange nut that resembled japanese peanuts but had a much darker shade of brown and blue mixed into it.

I wondered if this was the old red bastards food supply or secret stash of snacks?

I found it weird that he would align it next to his equivalent shit bucket instead of somewhere else like by the wooden chest.

Because I was hungry and my stomach growled I decided to give one of em a shot I picked one up it had a soft hard shell texture to it they were round and lumpy.

Using the strength of my fingers I popped it open to find nothing inside?

They were hollow? Was the shell the only thing that was edible how are these grown? I took a whiff of it to make sure I wasn't eating something weird that wasn't food.

With my new nose I could tell from the scent that it was from the forest and had a bit of a salty smidge to it.

I put the shell in my mouth and chewed on it taking in the flavor before swallowing, it tasted dry and salty like a flavorless bland salted peanut but without the peanut butter taste.

I don't hate it but I don't love it either I think I'll just have my fill on meat instead but before that I should check out that chest first.

I walked over casually and busted the chest open with my bare hands.

I obviously did not have the key and I was not going to waste my time looking for one either.

Inside the chest I saw a messy assortment of various items which included a pair of Gyrom's iconic Fire Fox Skull Mask.

Some Fire Fox pelts and clothing and a few accessories none of which were my size rendering them useless to me.

I kept digging until I found something interesting and pulled it out, a beautiful golden bladed dagger.

It had an intricate carving on the green jade like handle of a foreign language I couldn't read.

If I had to guess where this dagger had come from I would assume it was some fancy Elven Dagger going off the design and aesthetic of the blade.

I took the blade outside of the chest and tossed it into the large green fur carpet on the floor to play with it later.

Hoping to find another goodie inside I completely emptied out the box until I found something else!

It looked like a magical staff similar to the one Gyrom had.

The wood was carved but kept gnarled the only real difference I could tell between them was the magical shard lodged inside the tip.

It was not a red pointy shard like Gyrom's other staff but a smooth round orange gem orb.

I wasn't a rock expert so I had no idea what kinda rock or gem it was or if this type of gem even existed in my old world.

I gently tossed it to the green fur carpet out of fear of it breaking or exploding like Gyrom's did.

I couldn't help but snicker at recounting the explosion that blew his hand to smithereens.

That Old Red Fuck was going to die by my hand anyways but that explosion sure made things convenient for me.

All that was left for me to do was try out my new skill so I activated my blue claws and picked up Gyroms severed head from the floor.

The skull mask he wore pretty much fell apart the moment I picked up his head again, I had to remove the remnants before I could begin eating his brain.

When I removed the broken skull mask I finally saw his ugly old face without the mask.

His face was nothing special just an old and ugly Goblin with wrinkly red skin and sunken green eyes.

He had a look of horrid disbelief he was missing his lower jaw letting his tongue hang and stick out.

The hanging jaw he had fell out when I dropped it to the floor earlier how cute I hadn't even noticed.

I could see his dirty yellow scattered teeth from the upper half that reminded I need to brush and keep my teeth clean.

It's gonna be tough since this world has no tooth paste, best I could do was rinse my teeth out with water but my pearly white razor sharp shark teeth will eventually become a shiny yellow overtime.

This place could use a shower too and a proper toilet I also need a real bed If this place was going to be my new home.

All these green and red fucks look the same to me only a few stand out from the generic crowd of goblins and what worse is that most of these weird fucks are unhygienic.

I should enforce bathing policies as there new leader and demand better living conditions in the future.

I tossed Gyroms head around between my hands with a mocking smile on my face thinking about how sweet my revenge felt against this old red fuck.

My grudge against him for burning me alive and turning me into a goblin barbecue had been resolved.

Jack: " Talk about a face only a mother could love, yeesh. "

Using my right index and middle finger entwining them into a small blue claw blade I carefully scalped Gyroms top head off.

I wanted to be careful as to not mess up the brain so I took my time with it carefully carving his head as blood oozed out..

In a funny way it was like carving the top of a pumpkin out… A really ugly pumpkin.

When the skull was exposed after removing the layer of flesh on his scalp I jammed the blade in.

I made sure not to jam it in too deep but just enough to get a good hook in there.

Before I started slowly forcing my finger blade in a circle to remove the newly made lid of his Skull cap exposing his brain.

The brain of goblins was pretty much identical to the human brain in terms of appearance, only being smaller in scale.

Something which I assumed was due to all goblins being natural born midgets.

My hands were large enough to grab the entire brain and lift it up in one go.

The warm and gross sensation of shoving my hands into his head was like sticking them into a box of warm spaghetti.

I brought the brain to my mouth holding it like a burger before I could take a bite out of it when I opened my mouth as wide as I could exposing my shark like teeth.

I noticed that my Jaw was able to unhinge seamlessly allowing me to fit half of the entire brain into my mouth before chomping down.

It only took a few bites from my shark like mouth to turn it into mince meat after swallowing it with a loud gulp.

I opened my mouth again unhinging my jaw as I put the rest of it inside and scarfed it down.

The raw brain of a goblin was a taste I would have to get use too when using my Cannibal Collector skill.

The taste was not bad and even more preferable than those weird nuts in the urns so it was nothing to complain about.

After swallowing the last bits of brain I walked over to the two water urns and chugged them both down feeling cool and refreshed despite it being unfiltered water.

I walked over to the fur carpet and sat down waiting for something to happen as the skill took its effect…

Jack got bored of waiting and picked up the Elven Dagger inspecting and admiring the craftsmanship.

He looked at himself from the shiny golden reflection of the blade to check out his new face.

The first thing he could think of when seeing his new face for the first time was.

Jack: " That's One Ugly Mother Fucker! "

Jack: "Jeez Louise and I thought that old red fuck was bad looking but this is just...."

Jack did not know wether to laugh or cry at his appearance by now he had already forgotten what he looked like as a human so the feeling of loss was not too great.

But he felt that he had somehow managed to become even uglier than he was before as a yellow goblin.

Jack touched and caressed his large and rough face, thoroughly examining every inch of it, taking it all in as he started to accept his new image.

His nose did not stick out so much like it did before as a Yellow and Green Goblin it was still large but it did not block his vision like before.

The shape of his nose was now a long hook it could be described as being a big aquiline nose or a Roman nose.

His hairless brows had become so fucking thick that it bordered on being ridiculous now.

-{x}-

The only thing Jack could compare it too was from an old cartoon he liked, where the main character Son Wukong I think? had a third super form that had him grow a ridiculous set of brows.

Jack could not quite remember the name of the show he watched as a kid but it was probably something along the lines of Dragons Testical X or whatever.

The show Jack was referring to was the Dragon ball Z anime and the character he was referring to was Son Goku in his Super Saiyan 3 Form!

His brows had become reminiscent of Goku's Super Saiyan 3 Form!

-{x}-

When Jack opened the old chompers and saw his shark like teeth he accidently unhinged his Jaw again exposing all of the razor shark rows of teeth he had grown.

Just when Jack had finished looking at himself he felt an electrifying Zap tingle from inside his head which he assumed was affect of his Cannibal Collector skill.

Jack: " The skill must finally be taking its effect! It's about time."

Jack could feel all of Gyrom's information and memories flood into his mind.

It was like he was reading a book and watching a movie at the same time that recounted all of Gyrom's experiences and knowledge to him.

Jack became affected by the sudden stream of information blending into his own memories and thoughts as the skill was processing all the information to him at break neck speeds.

Jack was in a trance like state as he sat down staring blankly at the ceiling like a dead fish.

He was unable to interact with the outside world as his soul and consciousness were being affected by Cannibal Collector.

If not for Plum managing the transferring of information and memories Jack would be experiencing an identity crisis unable to discern whether he was actually Jack the once human boy or Gyrom the Old Elder Goblin.

Gyrom was much older than Jack and as a result it was natural that he would have more knowledge and experience then Jack.

Jack's consciousness was like small puddle trying to hold in an ocean of water.

Gyrom was a centuries old Goblin who had at least fifteen times more content to be processed over than Jack who had barely lived over a decade.

Plum was managing and sourcing all of the information to Jack outstandingly without his consciousness getting lost or being absorbed by Gyroms content.

She was manipulating the process so that Jack's consciousness would remain dominant throughout the whole process and retain his former self.

Normally if Jack had used this skill without the assistance of Plum on someone like Gyrom or anyone who was vastly older than him.

His consciousness would have been consumed or lost in the huge transferring of information.

Jack would have woken up believing himself to be Gyrom if not for Plum's careful and expertise assortment of skill in mental manipulation.

After what felt like hours to Jack but was only fifteen minutes of real time all of Gyrom's memories and knowledge had been transferred over to Jack who retained the dominant consciousness over his body.

Although Jack could not have lived any longer than thirteen to fourteen years he felt much more older as his soul matured thanks to Plum he retained his former self and would not be affected with a split personality.

To Plum this extensive effort of hard work was not done out of any kindness to Jack but as a necessity to keep him docile and under her control.

Plum was tired from accomplishing such a difficult task she was mentally exhausted and needed to rest falling into a deep sleep inside of her domain in Jacks brain.

Plum did not worry about Jack using this skill again while she slept now that Jacks mind had absorbed Gyrom's into it.

Jack was able to freely use it on anyone who contained less information than his and Gyroms mind put together and would only help to improve this skill.

The more Jack absorbed from smaller minds into his the stronger his would grow.

She would only need to worry if Jack used it on someone or something much older than Gyrom to be affected by its drawbacks.

Of Course if it ever happened she could always dig his consciousness out but such a task would require a large amount of time and effort to pull off.

Her plans were coming to fruition without Jack even knowing it, he was a puppet in her hand.

Plum could not help but feel an intense sense of smug satisfaction as she prepared to rest to recover her magic.

Jack lacked maturity and critical thinking at times this lack of common sense or disregard for life would get in the way of Plums manipulation.

Right now she needed to find a way to integrate Jack into the tribe and make him think it was his own desire to further her mission.

This was a backlash Plum faced by keeping Jack emotionally stunted he was too short tempered and impulsive to move accordingly with precision to her will.

His mind was too volatile and fragile to forcefully manipulate with stronger forms of magic without running the risk of completely destroying his mind or soul in the process.

But now that Jack's soul had been strengthened by absorbing Gyrom's she could use stronger forms of mental manipulation magic to keep him in check.

Jack could not see the bigger picture and if one day Jack were to actually resist her control she would have resort to a possession.

Plum had the special ability to Hijack souls and forcefully possess a body in case of emergency this was her trump card.

However in doing so it would have unforeseen consequences that even she was not aware of what they were.

Plum had never possessed a host that did not immediately die after the possession was complete.

This was because the host soul was an essential fuel and power source during her possession that determined how long she could possess a host for.

The victim's body was like a battery that would eventually burnout and die after her possession used up every piece of the host soul.

Hopefully if she kept strengthening Jacks soul it would better prepare him for such a contingency plan and allow him to survive a temporary possession.

Plum had never stopped mid-possession to allow the host soul to survive.

There was too much risk involved since her own soul was not immune to suffer any backlash in using such a technique and stopping it before completion.

Once out of curiosity Plum had asked her beloved Goddess what would happen if such an event came to pass .

However her goddess only smiled and avoided the topic.

As a loyal servant to her Goddess she would obviously never bring it up again and pushed the matter to the back of her mind. to ease her worries

Her Goddess said that if things were to go awry that she was allowed to use this method on Jack should he ever resist and break free from her control.

Plum was secretly very worried what would happen to her in such an event and would only resort to such a method as a last resort.

But because Plum had an undying love and loyalty towards her Goddess she trusted her judgment above her own.

Plum swore to herself that no matter the backlash if it meant doing the bidding of her beloved Goddess she would use her possession ability without hesitation.

Plum went into a hibernation like rest inside of her domain to recover her magic.

During this process she will not be able to interact or influence Jack until she had fully recovered.

Plum would not have to worry about Jack becoming mentally unstable anymore.

Now that his soul had matured and he had gained an extensive amount of information and experience to survive as an Elder Goblin.

Jack would not be so easily deterred by his mental instability unless under extreme pressure.

As plum closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep she accidently muttered one last message to Jack.

Plum: "Stupid boy dont mess this up…"

Jack was brought back into reality the words that guided him awake left a deep impression on him as he wondered who the cute voice belonged to.

When Jack came back to his senses from his trance like state he felt different from normal.

Although he still felt like he was the same old Jack he always was at heart.

His personality and demeanor changed no longer was he the wild and unchained youth of yesterday.

Jack felt an odd but strong determination to get over his troubled past and to forge the life he wanted to live in this new world,

He was ready to accept himself no longer would he see himself as a human boy but as the mighty Goblin Jack!

He did not care if he was a goblin or a human anymore all that mattered was that he was Jack and that he needed more power!

Jack: " Power, Power!, Power!!, I Need More Power!!! "

Jack's mind felt as clear as a blue sky, from now on he was ready to grab this life by the balls and squeeze them tight until he became the strongest being in the entire Universe!

Jack's obsession with power became his obsession to life he wanted to be strong and live life how he saw fit.

Jack looked down at both of his hands as he began to laugh in a familiar sinister way that turned from the excited laughter of a strong youth to the sadistic laughter of an evil wizard!

Gyrom had become his fist stepping stone to attaining ultimate power and with his knowledge Jack learned much about this new and strange world to help guide him.

His knowledge although limited by Gyroms rank and life experience was still enough for Jack to take his next step to power.

Jack set his sights on the other Elders of the lower floor levels and the Chieftain of not only this tribe but every other tribe in the Dark Forest!

But first Jack needed to improve his floor level this floor was a barren waste of space it was a neglected mess that served as a glorified living hole for these worthless goblins.

Gyrom had only made profits ruling over this place by taxing green goblins who used the cave entrance and his own subjects to fund his lifestyle.

Of Course he had limited this charge to Green goblins only as Gyrom could not dare to charge the Yellow Goblins that served other Elders from fear of there retribution.

The Dark Forest was home to seven other Goblin Tribes and Jack had become part of the Giiing Tribe.

The eight Goblin Tribes lived scattered and isolated from one another the details on why are unknown to me.

According to the legends from Gyrom's memories long ago there had been four rival Blue Goblin Kings who ruled over a glorious kingdom of Goblins.

But when the Goblins became a worldwide public enemy to every race who stood alongside the Lords of Light they were exiled and hunted to the point of mass genocide.

The four kings escaped into the Dark Forest to avoid death and banded together to create a new Goblin Kingdom in the domain of the Dark Forest.

Together they started another glorious kingdom but overtime as the Dark Forest expanded its territory more and more enemies and dangerous super predators would appear.

Eventually leading to the kingdoms ruin from there the survivors of the last Goblin Kingdom became the twelve great goblin tribes.

But as time passed they were dwindled down to only eight and had lost the title of Great…

What interested Jack the most of this story was not the history or lore but the mention of Blue Goblin King's that meant that Jack could still evolve and become stronger!

But according to Gyroms memories all of the Chieftains and Elders were Red Goblins.

A blue Goblin hasn't been seen since the last Goblin Kingdom fell.

Jack could not help but smile as he had something to look forwards to in his next evolution.

While Jack was caught up in his thoughts the Blue Screen appeared before him asking to learn Gyrom's signature Fire Ball skill.

He immediately clicked yes and replaced it with the Bug Catcher skill.

He did not need to practice it with the staff as he already had over a hundred years worth of experience using the spell.

Jack went on to eat Gyrom's headless corpse, picking it down to the bone to fill his belly before falling asleep.

Jack was eager to start his path to power tomorrow as the new Elder of the first floor...
