Leon was like an Asura who was released to the mortal world in the battlefield. He killed and killed again. He bathed in the blood of the enemies, even some organ parts could be seen on him. It was a brutal scene to look at, even Leon's comrades were scared when they saw him, lest the enemies.
Leon also didn't know how many soldiers that he killed, he didn't even know his name at the moment. He wasn't fully conscious at the battlefield, his sight dyed with red, even his consciousness was fading. He only gained his focus, when he got cut with a sword that wasn't foreign to him. The sword didn't seriously wound him, it was only a flesh wound around his ribcage.
Leon immediately retreated, but the knight that he fought yesterday didn't want to let him go. Leon knew that he couldn't kill the knight yesterday, even now he still wasn't sure that he could kill the knight. But he noticed that the movements of the knight became duller and his sword wasn't determined to cut Leon. Leon didn't know the reason. But if he were to guess the reason, he would say his killing intent was pressuring the knight. Even just with that, Leon was content with the results of his [Asura Domain].
When Leon widened the distance, he and the knight looked at each other. Leon could see that the knight was surprised to see that Leon got powerful in such a brief time. It wasn't Leon got stronger, he was just using the killing intent to pressure his opponents, including the knight. Of course, Leon couldn't clear the misunderstanding in the battle.
The knight looked at Leon, he didn't say anything, but his eyes became determined and he was releasing killing intent. He didn't think that the cannon fodder from yesterday would become stronger in just a day.
["I have to kill him."] thought the knight. If someone could get stronger in a day and continued in such manner during the war, it would bring disaster to their soldiers. Leon didn't have to think so much to figure out what was the knight thinking. In his previous life, he was taught that he needed to emphasize with people and became a habit for Leon. This habit came with Leon to his next life, he would always try to put himself in others shoes to think. After battling and pursuing the immortality with selfish reasons, he was trying to destroy his habit because it would burden him, but the dog wouldn't give up eating sh*t.
The knight jumped towards Leon with unimaginable speed to leave afterimages, and Leon didn't wait him to come, so also jumped with his spear pointing to the knight. The knight parried the spear and aim to Leon's head with his sword from above, Leon dodged it and move to side with a swing of his spear. It was the first exchange and neither of them gained the upper-hand. When landed to the ground he was in the middle of enemy soldiers, so he just swung his spear and cut them in two, then immediately turned to face with the knight. As he turned he saw the point of the sword was a few meters away from his face. Leon immediately swung his spear to deflect the sword. The knight attacked again and again, Leon deflected all of his attacks, but he couldn't land a single strike to the knight. Aside from attacking each other, they were also moving in the battlefield as Leon wanted to put a distance between them and the knight was trying to close that distance. Both of them couldn't wound each other aside from the first wound that Leon got when his vision dyed with red, but it was also showing signs of healing. Even thought Leon didn't bring his body with him to the illusion world, he created a body tempering technique based on the secret manual of the army. Healing from a shallow flesh wound wasn't that hard.
Leon and the knight didn't just exchange moves between themselves, whenever and wherever they came across an enemy to themselves, they kill them to release their anger. Leon was using the body tempering technique that he created and [Asura Domain], so he wouldn't get tired, but the fight was mentally tiring. Dancing on the border of death wasn't an easy thing to do, even with Leon's experiences with killing monsters, got mentally tired. Killing a human or to be exact, a humanoid, was daunting for him. He knew all of that was an illusion, but he couldn't help but stress over it.
Leon and the knight continued to battle as they killed enemy soldiers. Leon didn't gain the upper-hand as they battled, but as he killed the enemies, he continued to temper his soul and his body. With that, he started to pressure the knight as the time passed. The knight also noticed that Leon was getting stronger as they battled, so his attacks were getting more and more ferocious. As they were getting closer to the end of the battle, they mutually wounded each other numerous times.
As Leon was getting stronger, he also noticed that the knight was getting weaker, so his attacks became more precise and unpredictable. The knight also noticed that, so he got defensive, and didn't attack Leon just waited for chances to counter-attack. Leon didn't give any opening to the knight, at least not the one that the knight could use.
As they battled, Leon saw an opening and attacked to arms of the knight. The spear pierced the lower-arm of the knight, and his face contorted in pain. Leon didn't let go the opportunity and continued his fierce attacks. He wounded the knight numerous times, but he couldn't take his life due to knight blocking his vitals.
Leon fought with the knight for two hours with the upper-hand. In the end he stabbed the knight from the left side of his ribcage, it was a deadly wound in a battlefield, Leon didn't stopped and pulled the spear with a twist to make the wound more serious. The knight also felt the death with his wound, so he started to retreat in a hurry. Leon didn't give him any chance and continued his fierce attacks. At last he pierced knight's throat. The knight gave Leon a last fierce gaze with blood coming from his mouth.
Leon sighed and pulled the spear from the throat of the knight that he didn't even know his name. Surrounding of Leon was filled with silence, the enemies and the comrades saw that he killed a knight. For a regular foot-soldier to kill a knight was an unimaginable feat. The enemies filled with fear and the comrades were awed.
Leon didn't say anything and cut the head of the knight, then he took it. After that, he jumped into the middle of the battlefield. After he entered the battlefield, he continued to kill any enemy without effort. He knew that killing the knight would bring him benefits, but he didn't know exactly what they would be. He didn't kill much enemy due to the horn, which signaled the end of the "shift". After hearing the horn he just went to the tent of the general to show the head.
