Chapter 10: The Cave in the Abyss
As Blu beat her wings she flew straight down into the abyss the nameless one was startled this was where they were headed.
"Blu why are we heading down the abyss? This place is extremely dangerous! Wait I guess with Blu's wings she can manage this much." As the nameless one thought about this he realized this world was drastically different then the world he came from. Here Blu had wings and was gigantic. He couldn't understand what happened but he knew that right now all that was important was Blu was safe and he was still alive.
Blu Carried him deep into the abyss and flew down into a cave she was extremely familiar with. While she couldn't speak she nudged the nameless one Into the cave and she retracted her wings to land into the cave herself too. She then lead the way deeper into the cave to show the nameless one something special she found all those years ago. She still remembered that all those years ago she was washed down the river as one of the black and purple furred beasts had caught up and attacked her knocking her unconscious. When she woke up she was at the end of the river and had been washed into the abyss shortly after landing at the front of this cave and by sheer luck she survived the fall and rolled into the cave. Here she found what she was currently taking the nameless one too.
She turned her head towards him and simply purred like she did all those years ago and nudged him forward into a narrow gap in the cave. Here a soft glowing blue light shone in a small hole in the cave. The nameless one slowly approached this light feeling an odd soothing connection to it.
"Blu is this what you're wanting to show me;" he asked as he turned to look at her and she simply nodded her head at him to keep going. The nameless one did as she told him and leaned down into the hole and he saw that it was a jagged rock emitting this light. He reached out to touch this rock, his finger making the connection instantly a small arc of electricity leapt out and struck him directly on the finger he was attempting to touch it with. When this small arc hit his finger he immediately felt a wave of energy course through him like nothing he felt before. His senses immediately felt sharpened as if they had been struck across a fine wetstone repeatedly until they were fine tuned. He hadn't realized yet but when this happened he had actually fallen unconscious and was enduring the constant battering of the stones electric energy bombarding him. While not life threatening this energy was far more then his mortal body could handle. After half a day passed he awoke to Blu licking him. It seemed she had gone through a similar experience when being near this stone but it also appeared her results were different from his as she had grown in size and also obtained wings in this process. The only difference he could feel was his senses all being raised to the maximum and his ability to think and process information was supercharged.
"This is incredible" he said aloud and quickly understood how Blu had gotten so powerful. "Blu you must of been down here for a long time huh. Constantly enduring this energy to become stronger and one day fight those beasts for me right?" Blu acknowledged with more purring and a head nod. She was truly happy to have him back right now. They both went and she flew him out of this cave back to the forest. He called on her to go towards his home. He needed to find something important he left behind that he hoped was still there and hadn't been disturbed by the beasts.
She did as he instructed and quickly landed close to the home where he got off of her back and ran into the woods with Blu taking back up into the skies to observe from up above.
"This is truly a blessing" the nameless one remarked as he could already notice a vast difference in his ability to maneuver through the forest he was able to notice the slightest difference in the terrain, hear faint drops of water as they fell from the trees and even see clearly in the dark as night had already set. He never felt more alive and more connected with his surrounding environments. At last he came upon his old home. Two beasts were left here while the rest presumably slept or roamed the forest still searching for him. He quickly and stealthily slipt past the guards into a back entrance and saw his suspicion was correct as three other beasts we're asleep in the home. "
One must still be looking for me" he thought. He quietly went through his old and run down small home to a corner where he had placed his old axe. It was his first axe he made and still a trusty one and he saw it was still left in the same place, rusted after time and covered with thick layers of dust and debris. He grabbed it as quietly as possible and proceeded to approach the sleeping behemoths and finally realized these beasts had grown substainlly since coming to this new world. These beasts regularly stood two meters tall and had large muscular arms with thick powerful legs. a nub for a tail and a broad powerful back however these current beasts we're even bigger at nearly four meters tall they were almost twice as large as he was used to remembering. He took a mental note of this and quickly swung the axe head down decapitating these three beasts in just a few seconds. Blue blood flowed and melted his wood floors in seconds. He remembered the acidic nature of this blood but again this version had obviously become even more potent then before. Getting tired of these surprises he left the Hut and made a loud whistle alerting the two beasts left to guard the Hut as well as Blu that he was ready. As the beasts came rushing over They stopped and searched for a moment for the location of the noise but just as they did this Blu came slamming down onto one of them and proceeded to rip it's flesh apart with her powerful teeth and claws. The other beast was obviously caught off guard but just as he proceeded to help his companion he felt a slab of pain in his head and quickly saw his vision slide apart with the horror that was Blu being his last sight.
"Great work Blu! We made quick work of those beasts." The nameless one said as he removed the axe head from the beasts head he had swung it into. "It's time to finish this grudge and this time we won't be caught by surprise!" he said.
