Descent

It came smashing down from above, that awesome mass of energy and raw power concentrating into a tiny glimmering mass, burrowing straight through bedrock like a razor through butter, entrenching itself deep into the planet's crust. It would continue to pulse and glimmer for the next several billion years, slowly rising closer and closer to the surface as the plate tectonics churned the landscape in a battle of creation and destruction. It awaited its descent upon a new chosen one, one to rule it all.
