Chapter 5: My first words
It's been some days since I last did anything other than 'sleep', I was actually listening to my parents' conversations that they had in my presence.
I whilst I was listening I had a revelation, the dragon speak and human language were very similar. The reason I didn't notice this at the beginning was that the dragons had a very heavy sort of accent and the humans spoke faster, nevertheless the languages were to similar to be a coincidence. Of course there were also different words, but those words are easy to learn.
This makes me think, did humans and dragons once live in harmony and did they once communicate with each other? Did both races once share a language, and if we did then was it the war that broke us up?
This knowledge can be used to my advantage, since my goal is to end this war, I can help the humans realise that their ancestors once lived with dragons. My only concern is that I would have to explain how I learnt the dragon speak, my true identity might be exposed. But those are a problem for another time.
It's about time for me to start figuring out how this human magic really works.
As a dragon we learnt the basic forms of cultivation to learn magic, but since dragons don't truly need magic for self-defense (since we had claws, our thought scales, a strong body and our fire) our capacity for magic isn't nearly as developed at the humans'. Of course a dragon can become a mage and a human can specialise in the sacred dragon techniques, but only with special training and a lot of patience. Using this theory (since no dragon has ever become a mage and no ever human has ever learnt the dragon secret techniques it is still in theory that the special skills of a race can be learnt by the other) I believe that I can become the best mage and dragon specialist.
I wonder what the average age for human children is when they start showing signs of magic. If I calculated correctly, I should be nearing the age of two months old. If I start now and cultivate my magic and dragon spirit then by the age of five I will already be a specialist in both. The average human age should be around ten to fifteen so I can play the role of the prodigy son to my parents. This also has its advantages because my parents aren't at all poor so they can afford to help me advance in my studies faster than normal. Although I'm not quite sure about my parents status in the human realm, they seem to be high up, since I have several maids and nannies, for when my mother is too overwhelmed. The room I'm in is also decorated very heavily with expensive items. I must have been born in a high nobility family. Money can't buy effort so I better start cultivating my magical power.
