Chapter 9: Arrogant!
Noah teleported to his bedroom. He had Bruce settled at one of his hotels with detailed instructions about his situation. Since he could not come publically move.
He checked his phone and called his Uncle. He was surprised to know a person had tried to get an appointment. He agreed to meet tomorrow.
Next day, Noah got ready for his meeting. He went to his office called the person, and waited.

Phil Coulson was one of the best SHIELD agents. He was today meeting a very important person. Fury had informed him that to meet Phantom they had to convince Noah Jones. Professor Charles Xavier had informed them that Phantom had called Noah his friend.
"you can come inside, sir is waiting for you there". Phil smiled at the staff and went to the room.
Inside the room, beyond a table was sitting a young man. He was a man in the early twenties, with black hair and grey eyes. He was good looking, but not extremely handsome. He looked like an honest young boss of a corporation.
Coulson knew that the young man was not simple. He had expanded business in just four years. His rivals companies were absorbed by him. He not only had influence in business, but his power also reached to politics, media, and underworld.
"Hello, I am Phil Coulson of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division'". He introduced himself
"I know, so what does SHIELD want with me".
He observed the young man. There was no surprise there, with his connection, he must have heard of them. So, he went got to the main point directly.
"We were informed that you have some connection with Phantom. We just wanted to get in contact with him. SHIELD also works to protect the earth. We were hoping to talk to him".
Noah was not surprised that they had tried to contact him. He had deliberately leaked information to mutant baldy, to inform SHIELD. He was actually waiting for some time. Yet, he did not get a response.
There was no info available on Phantom. They might have assumed him Phantom at first but he had a clone for the alibi so they could not suspect him. It seems they were not that interested in meeting a middle man before. Fury must have wanted to discover Phantom identity first. Then establish a superior position of SHIELD. But his actions have derailed their plans. His latest show may have urged them to act faster. Thus, he got SHIELD knocking at the door.
"Yes, I do have a way of contacting him. He may or may not answer to your request. It depends upon him alone. I will contact him and we can discuss time and place".
"That would be enough, thank you".
They discussed some details and Coulson left the office.
Noah was not just meeting Coulson for goodwill.
He had read the mind of Coulson during the meeting. He went as far as he could without alerting the other. It is common for a victim to feel a headache if he had gone deeper. So he only skimmed recent outward thoughts. He got a basic understanding of the things around the SHIELD.

Today was the day Noah agreed to meet Fury as the Phantom. He was waiting for Fury. He had sensed their arrival. With his zero-sense, he could observe minute details in the area. Fury had come with several agents. They were stationed nearby.
Fury observed the person he was meeting. A powerful unknown who had changed their gameplay. He had successfully snatched Banner. He initially wanted to observe phantom for some time as he did not know the other completely. But it was becoming hard for him to sit any longer, the sheer number of abilities recorded were diverse, his strength was also off the charts, all in all, he was a perfect superhuman, all-rounder without a weakness.
"You are a very hard man to find Phantom". Fury said looking at the man covered in Black costume. Only the portion covering his eyes was white. It was very hard to imagine his expression under it.
"I will take that as a compliment".
"I will speak frankly, seeing your actions, you want to protect the earth. SHIELD is also the same.
We can work together for a common goal".
Phantom observed Fury for some time, "you really have a way with words. What! 'we can work together', all you want is a powerful asset for under control".
Fury eye twitched for a moment. What a sharp tongue, he was not even given a chance to negotiate, "Phantom, you need to understand we have a proper system for everything, donning a costume will not make you above the laws. You are just a vigilante, we could provide you assistance and security from various government agencies". He did not deny the statement completely.
"Hero, vigilante or villain I do not care how I am viewed. I can't join your organization because my mask is to protect my people. Otherwise, do you think I care for trivial government or countries?"
The conversation was not going as Fury had initially planned. He went quiet for a moment, "you don't know how big is the world you have just entered, you don't understand who you are dealing with in your arrogance. There are numerous people out there with your strength. You could be viewed as the enemy of the world with one wrong move, this is not something you can afford".
Fury did not want to be viewed as weak. He just said what was his belief. After all, no matter how powerful Phantom was he had not experienced the true threats. Phantom did not know that humans were not alone on the universe. He believed phantom was being arrogant after his little stunt.
Phantom remained silent for a moment and replied, "I can't become your lapdog, sorry for that. SHIELD may have the same motives as me. But for me joining will be a hindrance. However, If you will truly need me. I am open for negotiations. You know how to contact me".
Phantom flew in the air and looked at Fury, "It is you who is arrogant. It is you who do know not how vast the world is. Your eyepatch may have also covered half of your wisdom. Let me give you a demonstration of who you are dealing with".
Phantom cupped his hands then drew them to his side, "Kaa mee...
Listening to this, Fury on the ground felt an ominous feeling wash over him. He observed Phantom's hand which were collecting energy.
It was an evening at that moment but a light was shining from that hands like a sun, "agents stand down do not move, I repeat do not move". He did not want someone to get trigger happy at the moment. He was feeling a great danger at the moment.
Fury felt wind seemed to get affected by that move, whatever Phantom was showing felt truly dangerous.
"Haaaa...". At that moment, Fury saw a great beam flowing towards the sky. It was so powerful that the recoil pressure generated by it split the clouds, generating strong winds.
After a few minutes, the beam disappeared along with the Phantom.
There was pin-drop silence.
Each person was not aware that they had been holding their breathing while observing.
Fury wiped sweat from his forehead, "Agent I want a satellite imaging from my position of last half an hour, give me a detailed report on it".
After some time viewing various reports, Fury truly understood what Phantom meant. How arrogant he had been. The energy released from that wave could destroy the whole of North America.
A move to destroy a continent.
one attack to wipe millions.
Phantom had the ability to become a threat of global sclae, with this attack alone, and it may not be his most powerful attack.
'SHIELD could not afford to anger him. F**k! he did not know who on the earth could afford to anger him. It was a good thing that there was still room for negotiation. Phantom may not have joined SHIELD but he also was not an enemy' were the Fury's thoughts.
He needed to inform the world security so they don't make a stupid decision regarding Phantom in the future.
