Chapter 5) Hermione remembered?
The moment I touched the barrier, I felt a little pull and instantaneously I was on the other side. A scarlet steam engine was stationed next to the platform packed with people. A sign overhead said Hogwarts' Express, eleven o'clock. The smoke from the engine hovered over the crowd. There were lots of cats of different colour wandering around and the owls hooted to one another. It was a familiar sight, similar to one I had seen in the movie.
"Are you both okay?" I asked.
"Yes sir, I am good." Micasa answered. Hedwig hooted in affirmative.
The first few compartments were filled with students. Some were talking to their family. Seeing this I was reminded of my mother who used to take me to school daily when I was a child, in my previous life. Well - no dwelling over past.
"Gran, I've lost my toad again." I heard a boy talking to a old woman.
"Oh, Neville," She sighed.
'So he must be Neville Longbottom and his grandmother Augusta Longbottom.' I got a good look of their faces.
Neville had a round face, a small nose and he was chubby looking. His grandmother was wearing a pointed hat.
I also saw two boys who had distinct red hairs and looked identical teasing another boy who also had red but was younger. The older ones were Fred and George weasely, the famous Weasley twins and the younger one was Ron Weasley.
After passing the crowd, I reached an empty compartment. I sat next to the window. Hedwig was sitting on my trunk. Micasa was still sitting on my shoulder.
"You know, you can explore the train, if you like. No one would notice you if you remain invisible." I suggested.
"Thank you for your suggestion sir, but for now, I would like to remain here." Micasa replied.
"Sure."
From the window seat, I could see the Weasley family. There was another boy who looked older than the twins, came striding through the crowd.
"Can't stay long, Mother," he said. "I'm up front, the prefects have got two compartments to themselves-"
"Oh, are you a prefect, Percy?" said one of the twins, with an air of great surprise. "You should have said something, we had no idea."
"Hang on, I think I remember him saying something about it," said the other twin. "Once-"
"Or twice-"
"A minute-"
"All summer-"
"Oh, shut up," said Percy.
"How come Percy gets new robes, anyway?" said one of the twins.
"Because he's a prefect," said their mother fondly. "All right, dear, well, have a good term - send me an owl when you get there."
She kissed Percy on the cheek and he left. Then she turned to the twins.
"Now, you two - this year, you behave yourselves. If I get one more owl telling me you've - you've blown up a toilet or-"
"Blown up a toilet? We've never blown up a toilet."
"Great idea though, thanks, Mom."
"It's not funny. And look after Ron."
"Don't worry, ickle Ronniekins is safe with us."
"Shut up," said Ron again. He was almost as tall as the twins already and his nose was still pink where his mother had rubbed it.
It was exactly the same, I read in the "Harry Potter" book.
Well - at least timeline didn't change much!
Then I heard a whistle and the train started moving. I could see the crowd disappearing at the horizon as the train picked up speed.
After few minutes, the door of my compartment slid open. The youngest red headed boy, Ron Weasley, came in. From up close he looked a lot chubby.
"Anyone sitting here?" He asked pointing at the empty seat opposite to me, "Everywhere else is full."
"Sure." I said.
I knew that he was lying. He was probably too lazy to look for other compartment. I also knew that he didn't recognise me, because I looked very different from the "Harry Potter" described in the book about me, except for the 'N' shaped scar on my forehead. In the book I had messy black hair and wore spectacles.
He sat silently for few minutes, taking occasional glances at me.
"Hey, Ron."
The twins were back.
"Listen, we're going down the middle of the train - Lee Jordan's got a giant tarantula down there."
"Right," mumbled Ron.
"Well, hello there," said the other twin looking at me, "did we introduce ourselves? Fred and George Weasley. And this is Ron, our brother. See you later, then."
"I am Harry, Harry Potter." I said.
"Are you really Harry Potter?" The twins gawked at me. Ron also looked surprised.
"You look different and do you have the - you know - the scar" One of the twins said awkwardly.
I showed them my scar.
"What were you expecting?" I asked curiously.
"Fred..., George..." A male voice interrupted us.
"Looks like Jordan is calling us." The twins said in an unison, "Bye, see you later."
They slid the compartment door shut behind them.
Ron was silent for few minutes fidgeting with his hands. He looked uncomfortable.
"Er - do you remember anything - I mean, the night you-know-who atta -"
"Murdered my parents." I said in a sharp tone.
That made him silent.
Ron might be a eleven year old boy but he should've learned to keep his inappropriate questions to himself.
After that Ron didn't talk much. I also remained silent.
About one and half hour later, there was a great clattering outside in the corridor and a smiling, dimpled woman slid back their door and said, "Anything off the cart, dears?"
"No, thank you." I said. I wasn't fond of sweets. Ron was salivating but he didn't have the money to buy anything.
I thought maybe I would buy some candies for him but decided against it. I didn't want to hurt his pride.
Some time later there was knock on the door. A chubby looking boy came in. He was Neville. He looked a little tearful.
"Sorry," he said, "but have you seen a toad at all?"
I nodded in negative.
"He'll turn up," I said.
"Yes," said the boy miserably. "Well, if you see him..."
Then he left.
After some time, the door slid open again. This time there was a girl with Neville. She had bushy brown hair. I recognized her. She was Hermione Granger.
"Has anyone seen a toad? Neville's lost one," she said. Her tone was a bit bossy.
"Sorry, but no I haven't seen one." I said.
Her eyes fell on me. She came closer, to take a good look of my face.
"You - you look familiar, I can't remember correctly, but have we met before in a place like hospital." She said with uncertainty.
'She remembers me! But didn't Dumbledore wiped her and her parents memories of me?' I was very surprised.
"Right! You were the boy who was injur -" I didn't let her finish the sentence before I took her outside.
"Don't talk about our encounter to anyone, okay? I will explain everything to you after reaching Hogwarts." I said.
"But -"
"No buts, this is very important not only for you but for me also."
"O-okay." She hesitantly agreed.
"By the way, I am Harry Potter." I said extending my right hand.
She was surprised. But she quickly composed herself and shook my hands.
"I am Hermione, Hermione Granger." She introduced herself.
"Well, talk to you later."
I entered the compartment. Ron and Neville was staring at me. I couldn't quite discern their expression. Hermione took Neville to search for his toad.
"What!" I exclaimed.
"What did you two talk about?" Ron asked.
"Sorry, Its personal." I was quite irritated.
After some time, the door slid open yet again. This time it was neither Neville nor Hermione.
Three boys entered, and I recognized them. The middle one was Draco Malfoy, beside him were Crabbe and Goyle. Draco was looking at me with a lot interest.
"Is it true?" he said. "They're saying all down the train that Harry Potter's in this compartment. So it's you, is it?"
"Yes," I said. He was looking at the other boys. Both of them were thickset and looked extremely mean. Standing on either side of the pale boy, they looked like bodyguards.
"Oh, this is Crabbe and this is Goyle," said the pale boy carelessly, noticing where Harry was looking. "And my name's Malfoy, Draco Malfoy."
Ron gave a slight cough, which might have been hiding a snigger. Draco Malfoy looked at him.
"Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask who you are. My father told me all the Weasleys have red hair, freckles, and more children than they can afford."
He turned back to me. "You'll soon find out some wizarding families are much better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there."
He held out his hand to shake mine, but I didn't take it.
"I think I can tell who the wrong sort are for myself, thanks," I paused a little, "It isn't polite to impose your opinion on others, you know."
Draco Malfoy didn't go red, but a pink tinge appeared in his pale cheeks.
"I'd be careful if I were you, Potter," he said slowly. "Unless you're a bit politer you'll go the same way as your parents. They didn't know what was good for them, either. You hang around with riffraff like the Weasleys and it'll rub off on you."
Ron stood up.
"Say that again," Ron said, his face as red as his hair.
"Will you just shut up and get out of the compartment, already?" I yelled. I was quite frustrated by his childish banter due to his hurt ego.
Both Ron and Draco looked a bit frightened.
"In the future, don't tell me, I didn't warn you," Draco said as he composed herself, "Crabbe, Goyle - lets go."
They left.
"That was brilliant!," Ron exclaimed, " the way you made him shut his mouth."
"I've heard of his family," added Ron darkly. "They were some of the first to come back to our side after You-Know-Who disappeared. Said they'd been bewitched. My dad doesn't believe it. He says Malfoy's father didn't need an excuse to go over to the Dark Side."
"You also shouldn't impose your beliefs on others, okay?" I said sharply. That shut him up. He also looked uncomfortable.
It was getting dark. I could see mountains and forests under a deep purple sky. The train did seem to be slowing down.
'Looks like we will be reaching soon.' I thought as I stood up.
At the same time, a voice echoed through the train: "We will be reaching Hogwarts in five minutes' time. Please leave your luggage on the train, it will be taken to the school separately."
I changed into my Hogwarts' robes. Ron did also.
The train slowed right down and finally stopped. People pushed their way toward the door and out on to a tiny, dark platform. Other students were shivering a little in the cold night air. I had used warming charm on my clothes. It kept me warm. Then a lamp came bobbing over the heads of the students, and I heard a familiar voice: "First years! First years over here! All right there, Harry?"
Hagrid's big hairy face beamed over the sea of heads.
"Come on, follow me - any more first years? Mind your step, now! First years follow me!"
We followed Hagrid down what seemed to be a steep, narrow path. Some students slipped and stumbled down the path. It was very dark on either side of us. Nobody spoke much. Neville, the boy who kept losing his toad, sniffed once or twice.
"You will get your first sight on Hogwarts in a sec," Hagrid called over his shoulder, "just round this bend here."
There was a loud "Oooooh!"
The narrow path had opened suddenly onto the edge of a great black lake. Perched atop a high mountain on the other side, its windows sparkling in the starry sky, was a vast castle with many turrets and towers.
"No more than four to a boat!" Hagrid called, pointing to a fleet of little boats sitting in the water by the shore. I was followed by Ron, Neville and Hermione into my boat.
"Everyone in?" shouted Hagrid, who had a boat to himself. "Right then - FORWARD!"
And the fleet of little boats moved off all at once, gliding across the lake, which was as smooth as glass. Everyone was silent, staring up at the great castle overhead. It towered over them as they sailed nearer and nearer to the cliff on which it stood. It looked so majestic. I was also mesmerized by the sight.
"Heads down!" yelled Hagrid as the first boats reached the cliff; they all bent their heads and the little boats carried them through a curtain of ivy that hid a wide opening in the cliff face. They were carried along a dark tunnel, which seemed to be taking them right underneath the castle, until they reached a kind of underground harbour, where they clambered out onto rocks and pebbles.
"Oy, you there! Is this your toad?" said Hagrid, who was checking the boats as people climbed out of them.
"Trevor!" cried Neville blissfully, holding out his hands. Then they clambered up a passageway in the rock after Hagrid's lamp, coming out at last onto smooth, damp grass right in the shadow of the castle.
They walked up a flight of stone steps and crowded around the huge, oak front door.
"Everyone here? You there, still got your toad?"
Hagrid raised a gigantic fist and knocked three times on the castle door.
The door swung open at once. A tall, black-haired witch in emerald-green robes stood there. She had a very stern face.
"The first years, Professor McGonagall," said Hagrid.
"Thank you, Hagrid. I will take them from here."
She pulled the door wide. The entrance hall was very big. In the book, it was written that the entrance could whole of the Dursleys' house in it. Well - the description was quite apt. The stone walls were lit with flaming torches like the ones at Gringotts, the ceiling was very high, and a magnificent marble staircase facing us led to the upper floors.
The moment I crossed the door, my magic sense was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of mana present in the air and also numerous wards that protected Hogwarts. I couldn't breadth for a few seconds.
"Are you alright?" Hermione asked gaining the attention of others including the professor.
"I am okay? J-Just a little nervous, that's all." I said, loud enough to be heard by the professor.
We then followed Professor McGonagall across the flagged stone floor. I could hear the drone of hundreds of voices from a doorway to the right - the rest of the school must already be here - but Professor McGonagall showed us into a small, empty chamber off the hall. The first year crowded in, standing rather closer together. I stood at the back.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall. "The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room.
"The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honour. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours.
"The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting."
Her eyes lingered for a moment on Neville's cloak, which was fastened under his left ear, and on Ron's smudged nose. She looked at me for a moment, then turned her attention towards other students.
"I shall return when we are ready for you," said Professor McGonagall. "Please wait quietly."
She left the chamber. I started humming.
No one was talking much except Hermione Granger, who was whispering very fast about all the spells she'd learned and wondering which one she'd need. I was amused. She must be very nervous. Well, everyone was quite nervous except me, I suppose.
I kept my eyes fixed on the door. Any second now, Professor McGonagall would come back and lead him to his doom.
Then I heard several people standing in front of me, screaming.
I covered my ears.
The students around me gasped. About twenty ghosts had just streamed through the back wall. Pearly-white and slightly transparent, they glided across the room talking to one another and hardly glancing at the first years. They seemed to be arguing. What looked like a fat little monk was saying: "Forgive and forget, I say, we ought to give him a second chance-"
"My dear Friar, haven't we given Peeves all the chances he deserves? He gives us all a bad name and you know, he's not really even a ghost - I say, what are you all doing here?"
A ghost wearing a ruff and tights had suddenly noticed the first years.
Nobody answered. A question struck my mind. Were they real soul? Or just a manifestation of their will before they died? I didn't have the answer but I would look into it soon.
"New students!" said the Fat Friar, smiling around at them. "About to be Sorted, I suppose?"
A few students nodded as did I.
"Hope to see you in Hufflepuff!" said the Friar. "My old house, you know."
"Move along now," said a sharp voice. "The Sorting Ceremony's about to start."
Professor McGonagall had returned. One by one, the ghosts floated away through the opposite wall.
"Now, form a line," Professor McGonagall told the first years, "and follow me."
I got into line behind a boy with sandy hair, and slowly the line walked out of the chamber, back across the hall.
The sight before me was magnificent. It was lit by thousands and thousands of candles that were floating in mid-air over four long tables, where the rest of the students were sitting. These tables were laid with glittering golden plates and goblets. At the top of the hall was another long table where the teachers were sitting. Professor McGonagall led the first years up here, so that they came to a halt in a line facing the other students, with the teachers behind them. The hundreds of faces staring at them looked like pale lanterns in the flickering candlelight. Dotted here and there among the students, the ghosts shone misty silver. Mainly to avoid all the staring eyes, I looked upward and saw a velvety black ceiling dotted with stars. I heard Hermione whisper, "Its bewitched to look like the sky outside. I read about it in Hogwarts, A History." She was taking occasional curious glance at me. I just smiled back.
Professor McGonagall silently placed a four-legged stool in front of the first years. On top of the stool she put a pointed wizard's hat. This hat was patched and frayed and extremely dirty.
Then the hall became silent. They were staring at the hat. Then the hat twitched. A rip near the brim opened wide like a mouth - and the hat began to sing:
"Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"
The whole hall burst into applause as the hat finished its song. It bowed to each of the four tables and then became quite still again.
"So we've just got to try on the hat!" Ron said, "I'll kill Fred, he was going on about wrestling a troll."
I ignored him.
Professor McGonagall now stepped forward holding a long roll of parchment.
"When I call your name, you will put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted," she said. "Abbott, Hannah!"
A pink-faced girl with blonde pigtails stumbled out of line, put on the hat, which fell right down over her eyes, and sat down. A moments pause -
"HUFFLEPUFF!" shouted the hat.
The table on the right cheered and clapped as Hannah went to sit down at the Hufflepuff table. I saw the ghost of the Fat Friar waving merrily at her.
"Bones, Susan!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!" shouted the hat again, and Susan scuttled off to sit next to Hannah.
"Boot, Terry!"
"RAVENCLAW!"
The table second from the left clapped this time; several Ravenclaws stood up to shake hands with Terry as he joined them.
"Brocklehurst, Mandy" went to Ravenclaw too, but "Brown, Lavender" became the first new Gryffindor, and the table on the far left exploded with cheers; I could see Ron's twin brothers catcalling.
"Bulstrode, Millicent" then became a Slytherin.
"Finch-Fletchley, Justin!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
I noticed, the hat shouted out the house at once, but at others it took a little while to decide. "Finnigan, Seamus," the sandy-haired boy next to Harry in the line, sat on the stool for almost a whole minute before the hat declared him a Gryffindor.
"Granger, Hermione!"
Hermione almost ran to the stool and jammed the hat eagerly on her head.
"GRYFFINDOR!" shouted the hat. Ron groaned.
When Neville Longbottom was called, he fell over on his way to the stool. The hat took a long time to decide with Neville. When it finally shouted, "GRYFFINDOR," Neville ran off still wearing it, and had to jog back amid gales of laughter to give it to "MacDougal, Morag."
The scene was similar to what was shown in the movie.
Malfoy swaggered forward when his name was called and got his wish at once: the hat had barely touched his head when it screamed, "SLYTHERIN!"
Malfoy went to join his friends Crabbe and Goyle, looking pleased with himself.
There weren't many people left now. "Moon"..., "Nott"..., "Parkinson"..., then a pair of twin girls, "Patil" and "Patil"..., then "Perks, Sally-Anne"..., and then, at last -
"Potter, Harry!"
As I stepped forward, whispers suddenly broke out like little hissing fires all over the hall.
"Potter, did she say?"
"The Harry Potter?"
I touched the battered hat with the intention of analysing it with mystic library. I wanted to find its flaws, so that I could get sorted without it being rummaging through my head. Well - I didn't get the result I hoped for but I got a solution that was more reassuring. The hat had a major drawback. It had a temporary memory. The moment one takes the hat off, it forgets everything, it had seen in that person's head.
Well, that meant I wouldn't have to be afraid of my secrets being leaked.
I sat on the stool and put the hat on. I felt a little intrusion in my head.
"Oh! What a ingenious method to fool legilimens! Very advanced for a kid of your age," it exclaimed, "A layer of irrelevant surface thoughts, then a strong occlumency shield that even I, a ten century old artefact with two ley-lines powering me, can't break. But it will require you to lower your occlumency shield for me to sort you."
"Sure." I quickly agreed. Well, the sorting hat wouldn't retain anything, it had seen in my mind.
"Ah! What is this! You are not Harry Potter! You are from alternate reality! You have this thing in your hea - "
"Just do your sorting." I replied sharply, mentally .
"Okay. No need to be so rude. Hmm... lets see, you are cunning but it's your minor trait. You are quite hardworking. You also have plenty of courage, but your thirst for knowledge is prominent among your other traits. So lets sort you int - "
"Just sort me into Gryffindor." I insisted.
"But you can get loads of knowledge in Ravenclaw." It argued back.
But I was quite insistent on being sorted into Gryffindor. I also threatened to burn it down.
"Okay, okay, if you are sure -
GRYFFINDOR" it shouted out loud.
I took the hat off, placed it on the stool. I heard loud cheering from the Gryffindor table. The prefect, Percy Weasley shook my hand vigorously. Well, as show of decorum, I returned his gesture. The Weasley twins yelled "We got Potter! We got Potter!". I sat beside Hermione.
"I will talk to you tomorrow, okay." I subtly whispered to her, so that no would notice. Others might misunderstand us to be couple, though rather young.
And now there were only three people left to be sorted. "Thomas, Dean," a Black boy even taller than Ron, joined Harry at the Gryffindor table. "Turpin, Lisa," became a Ravenclaw and then it was Ron's turn. The moment he put the hat on, it shouted, "GRYFFINDOR"
Ron ran to the Gryffindor table. He sat on the empty seat beside me.
"Well done, Ron, excellent," said Percy Weasley pompously across me as "Zabini, Blaise," was made a Slytherin. Professor McGonagall rolled up her scroll and took the Sorting Hat away. I was actually getting quite irritated by Percy's pompous attitude.
The food appeared on the empty golden plate. Ron immediately started gulping down the food as if he was hungry for quite some time. I knew that he didn't get to eat luxurious foods home but still one should eat properly and being a growing boy wasn't an excuse. I ate the food slowly like a gentleman while ignoring all the glances that the other students were throwing at me.
I looked the at high table where all the teachers were sitting. I noticed Hagrid giving thumps up. He was sitting at one end nearest to the Gryffindor table. The Dumbledore in the movie and the Dumbledore in real looked same. His silvery beard shined quite brightly along with his fancy robe. I also noticed Professor Quirrell. He was a purple turban and looked very nervous. Well, many would be nervous with a dark lord growing in the of his head. He was talking with a professor sitting beside him. It was Professor Snape. Description of him having greasy hair was quite accurate. He also had a pale skin, slightly less paler than me but my skin became pale because of change in my magic and his because of lack of Vitamin D for spending most his time in dungeon.
His eyes fell on me. I couldn't quite discern his emotions from the look on his face. He had mastered occlumency quite well. Then I felt an intrusion brushing past my minds surface layer which was basically filled with useless thoughts like, how would be the new school? Would I make new friends here? And so on. He was using subtle legilimency. I averted my gaze from him.
At last, the desserts too disappeared, and Professor Dumbledore got to his feet again. The hall fell silent.
"Ahem - just a few more words now that we are all fed and watered. I have a few start-of-term notices to give you.
"First years should note that the forest on the grounds is forbidden to all pupils. And a few of our older students would do well to remember that as well."
Dumbledore's twinkling eyes flashed in the direction of the Weasley twins.
"I have also been asked by Mr. Filch, the caretaker, to remind you all that no magic should be used between classes in the corridors.
"Quidditch trials will be held in the second week of the term. Anyone interested in playing for their house teams should contact Madam Hooch.
"And finally, I must tell you that this year, the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a very painful death."
It was clearly a set up. A trap to lure Voldemort out or to make a confrontation between me and Voldemort. It could've been logical to set a trap somewhere else other than a school with bunch of children and the main question was that was the philosopher's stone real?
"And now, before we go to bed, let us sing the school song!" cried Dumbledore. I noticed that the other teachers' smiles had become rather fixed.
Dumbledore gave his wand a little flick, as if he was trying to get a fly off the end, and a long golden ribbon flew out of it, which rose high above the tables and twisted itself, snakelike, into words.
"Everyone pick their favourite tune," said Dumbledore, "and off we go!"
And the school bellowed:
"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot, just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot."
Everybody finished the song at different times. At last, only the Weasley twins were left singing along to a very slow funeral march. Dumbledore conducted their last few lines with his wand and when they had finished, he was one of those who clapped loudest.
"Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here! And now, bedtime. Off you trot!"
I had covered my ears during the whole singing. Still I could hear it.
"Sir, I think magicals have weird taste in music or is it just Dumbledore?" Micasa said in a low voice.
"He must be hoping to sound eccentric but I find it quite crazy." I replied.
"All the jokes aside, could you confirm whether Quirrell is possessed or not." I requested her.
"It shall be done by tomorrow, sir. Any other things you want me to do sir?" She replied seriously.
"Hmm... let me think ... no, not for now, at least."
"Ok, then." Then she flew off my shoulder, still in her invisible state.
to be continued...
A/N : You might think why I used original version here. Well, it was for to show that the story still didn't diverged from the original. From the next chapter there will be major divergence.
Here's a question, what is Harold's title? What is his mother's name? I didn't mention it, right? Well, there will be little hint here and there in the next chapter.
So stay tuned! And be sure to comment. Please, for my motivation's sake.
