Chapter 2: Exploring New Abilities

Author Note:Well, In the previous chapter I didn't explain to you properly the function of the "Library of Heaven's Mystic Path" and what is the significance of the word "Mystic" in it. The functions are listed below:

It can copy any book, just by touching the particular book. It then lists all the flaws of what written inside the book.

The person with the library also can see flaws in any action that is taken in front of him, like Martial arts stances, wands movement, rune curving etc.

When a lot of books on same topic are absorbed (copied), it can then compile a title less book that has no flaws.

When the person, who has the library, guides a student and the student feels extremely grateful to that person for the guidance, the person gets a golden page. The golden page helps the person to imprint all the knowledge that was in the library books, on his mind.

When the person is able to comprehend what it means to be a teacher, he or she gains "eye of insight". With it he or she can see the true essence of anything at expense of his or her soul power.

Now the significance of "Mystic" :

When thee library fused with the magic of the protagonist, it mutated to a better version. Its previous abilities remained the same but it acquired some additional functions.

Now after absorbing a certain amount of book,, it can produce a purple page which increases the host's soul power as a result his magical reserve. It can also imprint all the knowledge on his mind.

Previously it could only help a person to reach "level-9 master teacher", but now its upper limit is unknown.

Chapter 2) Exploring the Mystic Library's various function.

Harry's POV

I could feel my body had perfectly healed within three days. But I couldn't inform the doctors as I didn't want to attract unwanted attention. They would be suspicious of me as it was near impossible for such injury to be healed within just three days.

After their first visit, the Granger family didn't come again to visit me. It's not that I was missing them very much but the circumstances were quite suspicious as they had promised but still didn't came. Dumbledore might be the reason behind this. He might have used memory charm or compulsion charm. I was starting to really hate him. Just how far would he go to keep me isolated and unsure if myself , so that I could be moulded into whatever he wants me to, i.e., a sacrifice for the "greater good". It was clear that he didn't want me to be independent or confident. The image of a gentle and grandfatherly Dumbledore, that was portrayed in the story, was slowly crumbling away in my head. It was supplanted by an unfeeling man living in the veneer of tenderness.

The Dursley family visited me once a day just to keep a public image of themselves being respectable citizen and a decent family. Aunt Petunia looked exactly like a typical witch that are shown in mundane television. Pointed nose, wrinkled skin, angular face and a high pitched voice. Her solitary misfortune was the absence of magic. Dudley never came with them, probably my aunt and uncle didn't want him to be infected by my freakishness.

As I didn't have any better activities than just to lay on my bed I began exploring different avenues regarding the library of Heaven's Mystic path that was in my head.

As my hands was supposedly broken, I couldn't touch any book.

So I decided to experiment with the tablets that the nurses were giving me periodically. I had to take a lot of painkillers as I went through a surgery few days ago.

One time I tried focus on finding the flaws of the composition of the painkiller that was given to me.

The library of Heaven's mistake but didn't disappoint me. Within few seconds there was a small tremor that went through my head. A while later, five words showed up on the highest point of the bookshelves.

Heaven's Mystic Path is imperfect!

I still didn't understand why word mistake was added because the original word Noble there was no mention of mystic. I would have to investigate it at a later date.

The moment the five words were formed. A book with a brown cover appeared on the bookshelf but it wasn't intangible like other books earlier. When I extended my arm, it fell right onto my hand.

My heart stopped for a moment. My hands were shaking. It was the moment of truth, to see whether library worked or not. When I lowered my head to see what was written on the cover.

I could see only one word on the cover - PERCOCET

Casually flipping to the first page, I could see a dense concentrations of words. It contained the composition of the tablet "PERCOCET".

"(oxycodone and acetaminophen) Tablets:

All strengths of PERCOCET also contain the following inactive ingredients: Colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, crospovidone, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, pregelatinized corn-starch, and stearic acid. In addition, the 2.5 mg/325 mg strength contains the 7.5 mg/325 mg and 10 mg/325 mg strengths contain corn starch.

Flaws: 3 ingredients. No. 1, 0.05 mg less crospovidone. No. 2, 0.007 mg more pregelatinized corn-starch and No. 3, 0.03 ml more stearic acid."

I wasn't good at chemistry so I couldn't recognise most of the chemicals written on the page.

But all my doubts about the capability of "Library of Heaven's Mystic Path" were cleared.

Time flew by quickly. It took two weeks for my body to heal completely (according to the doctors). During the two weeks of my stay in the hospital, I spent most of the time experimenting with my new ability i.e., the "Mystic Library" and meditating.

[A/N: I will be calling "Library of Heaven's Mystic Path" as "Mystic library"]

On the day of my discharge from the hospital, the doctor got rid of the Casts that were on my appendages.

Oh! it was such a great relief to be able to finally get rid of the Casts.

"Boy, get in the car." Uncle Vernon said sourly.

"Okay, Uncle Vernon." I nodded as I slowly got inside the car.

Only Uncle Vernon and my cousin came to pick me up from the Hospital . Aunt Petunia was at home, probably preparing meal.

My cousin was surprisingly quiet. I didn't know whether uncle had said something to him or he was just feeling guilty for being the reason behind my injuries. No matter what others said, Dudley was just a child. His bad nature was due to his father's (Vernon Dursley) influence. As it was quite correct to say that no one could be perfect. One could become a good person if he tries hard enough. Also I would be nudging him in the right direction along the way.

The ride back home was quiet. I was both nervous and excited. Nervous because in my previous life I lived in a big Mansion with my parents but after my mother died I moved to my own Apartment which was also pretty big and I knew that Harry lived in a small room more like a cupboard that was located under the stairs. I didn't know if I could adjust to search different living condition. Well "beggars can't be choosers". I knew that the Dursley family didn't physically abused Harry but the emotional abuse that Harry received was bad. Every moment of his childhood he was reminded of his worthlessness and how his folks were lushes who kicked the bucket leaving their useless tyke to them. I couldn't envision how Harry stayed rational subsequent to going through his adolescence with such hateful relatives as portrayed in the story. He was a reasonable case of the statement, "lotus that develops in the mud, the more profound and thicker the mud, the more wonderful the lotus sprouts."

It took half an hour to reach the famous address i.e., 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey. It was a nice home. But unfortunately, my room was going to be the small cupboard room with a solitary little window.

That day was not exactly what I anticipated. My uncle and close relative were treating me with aloofness which was much superior to anything what I was anticipating. They didn't even ask me to do any chores, which was good, as I got more time alone. When, I entered my room, I was disgusted with the condition of the room. There were spider webs everywhere. Oh! I remembered, as little Harry didn't have any friends until Hogwarts, so he used to converse with the spiders in the room. It was both adorable and creepy at the same time.

My first goal was to build my mindscape which would be an extraordinary safeguard against legilimency. I could probably show false memories to whoever endeavouring to pry into my psyche and with my "Mystic Library", it would be a piece of cake to build such a mindscape. The other things, I would be focusing on, would be computer electronics and programming. With the help of this Library I could literally build a perfect AI (Artificial Intelligence) like Tony Stark built JARVIS. It's the dream of every fan. The AI would be able to help in various stuffs in the mundane world (A/N: I find the term "muggle" offensive) and I would obviously be looking for ways to magic and mundane technology. My secondary goal would be learning all kinds of other skills like martial arts, Calligraphy, archery, shooting, drawing, sculpting and so on. I would also be retaining books on mundane science and mathematics.

(A/N: the library has a function to absorb all the knowledge of a book by just touching it).

I was thinking about visiting the Granger but after some careful thinking I decided against it. I didn't wish for them to get hurt because of me. I had no idea how low would Dumbledore stoop to keep me friendless and I wasn't going to test that.

Upon entering my room (if one could call a cupboard, room), the first thing I did was a thorough cleaning. I got rid of all the spider webs, the broken toys and worn out picture books. I packed all the wastes in a polyester bag. I also noticed that all my clothes were a little old and of bigger size than mine. I sighed sadly, what a miserable life, Harry had. It took about an hour to get rid of all the mess. Now the small cramped room, looked a bit more spacious than before.

I was exhausted after all the work. I would have to start exercising from the next day. I would likewise be visiting the public library.

I woke up at 5 am next morning. My uncle and aunt were sleeping soundly. My cousin was talking in his sleep. I couldn't understand what he was saying.

I entered the kitchen quietly, to grab something to eat. Memories of my childhood came flooding through my mind. My eyes moistened. When I was little, I used to stand beside mother, curious how she cooked such good food.

'Oh well! no dwelling in the past.' I thought as I wiped my wet eyes.

I fixed my self, some heavy and healthy foods. My body needed some good nutrition. I also cooked some extra food for my relatives. It might keep their ire of me, at bay.

After having my breakfast, I went for some serious running. I realized that I could run pretty fast. It might be because, Harry was always running from bullies. My reflexes were also good. After an hour of running and exercising, I returned home.

"I'm home." I said out loud at the door as I rang the bell. I had to jump to ring the bell because of my short stature.

It was my aunt who opened the door.

"Where were you, freak?" She yelled. It was more like a high pitched shriek.

"I went for a little jogging in the public park. I didn't notify you because I didn't want to wake you up. The doctor said, it would be good for my body." I said innocently in a low voice, with my head down. I acted scared and meek.

From the corner of my eyes, I got a good look at her face. Her expression was priceless. Although I couldn't discern whether she was angry or shocked. At least she didn't hit me.

She then led me to dining table, where I had kept the food, I cooked earlier.

My uncle was sitting on the chair , frowning . Beside him, Dudley was sitting quietly thinking deeply, which was an unusual behaviour for him.

Uncle Vernon folded the newspapers noticing me. He looked at me seriously. I was having trouble keeping a straight face. His angry plump face looked so hilarious.

'Remain calm Harry! If you laugh here, you may end up in lot of troubles with relatives.' I mentally berated myself.

"Boy, what is all this?" He asked in a commanding voice, pointing towards the table full of cooked foods.

"It was very early in the morning, I was hungry, so I cooked myself some good but then I thought why not cook for the whole family." I answered. I had to act nervous.

'Enjoy yourself while you can, my dear uncle. I am acting this meek because currently I am helpless. But soon all will change and then you will get your due.' I thought smugly.

He then took a bite from the toast. His expression changed from angry to blissfulness. He quickly composed himself, his face turning serious.

"Boy, the food taste decent. From today, you will cook for us daily. It is your punishment for causing trouble using your freakishness earlier." He said loudly. He sounded a little peculiar. His tone was both commanding and blissful at same time.

'Decent my arse, it was definitely delicious. Anyone can discern from his blissful expression while eating.' I was mentally cursing my uncle.

So that's how I got the responsibility of cooking food for my family. Oh well! At least they were treating me better.

The school was closed due to winter holiday. So, I decided to visit the public library. My uncle had gone to a business meeting. Only my cousin Dudley and aunt Petunia was at home. After making lunch, I packed myself some food.

"Auntie, I'm going to the library. I may came home a little late." I said, while getting ready. I clothed myself with a white shirt with blue cross strips and blue jeans with a faded effect around the thigh area. It fitted me decently.

"Harry! Wait! I have something to say." I heard Dudley's voice from first floor. He came running downstairs in a hurry. He paused in front of me while grasping for breath. He really needed to cut short on his food intake.

"Umm..." He was staring at me, attempting to state something yet dithering. Dudley was really acting weird after the incident (Harry was almost dead, from the fall from mid air and Dudley being the cause).

He took a long, deep breath.

"Just say whatever's on your mind. I am in a hurry." I said impatiently.

"I am sorry, okay! I didn't know you would be almost dead." He said loudly. He then ran upstairs without looking back.

I was slack-jawed, unable to believe what I had just heard.

Dudley just apologized! The famous bully, "Dudley Dursley" just apologized! It was completely out-of-character for him. It must've taken a lot of courage to admit to his fault.

It also showed that he could grow up to be a good person.

He didn't give me a chance to reply. Well I would talk to him later.

- scene change -

It took me 20 minutes to reach the public library. I had to ask the people for direction of the library. It was called "Weybridge Library". ( A/N : I don't know if such library exist.)

The library building looked anew. It had automated sliding doors. When I entered the main library, I was greeted by a typical sight. I saw several rows huge wooden shelves with numerous book stacked on it. Each section was labelled accordingly.

The librarian was a lady in her mid forties. She had this penetrating blue eyes that seemed to pry into your soul. Her face was oval, she had a typical frowning look on her face. It was probably because of some article on the magazine that she was holding between her hand. Her hair was pitch black and straight. It was short, it reached only down to her neck. She might've had a haircut recently. She put down the magazine on the desk and looked at me questioningly.

"Good afternoon, madam." I said politely just like a gentleman. My goal was getting my hands on several books that are too advanced to be read by a nine year old kid without looking suspicious.

I was trying to sound like a gentleman.

The frown on her face instantly vanished. It was replaced by a gentle smile.

"Good afternoon, kid." She replied with a smile. She was looking at me curiously.

"Can you please direct me toward the section of the library that has books about human mind and psychology." I requested politely. My body was of a nine year old kid but mentally I was a 20 year old man. I knew how to act like a gentleman.

"Oh! and why would a nine year old kid require such advanced books?" She asked, surprised. She was caught off guard by my unusual request.

"Well! You see, I am a bit advanced for my age. My classmate including the teacher calls me 'little genius'. I just want to surprise my teacher by presenting a project on the topic 'using one's mind to it's maximum potential'. Our mind is as limitless as it needs to be, and as constrained as is evolutionarily practical. If one has a penchant for sentimentality, it is not unfathomable to compare the human mind to the sky. One goes on forever inward, while the other goes on forever outward. In the mind there is an infinity of possible thoughts. That thing about how no thought is original— I think that's ridiculous. Yes, perhaps we lean toward the same human truths, but just the fact that we experience things in different places and at different times makes each thought unique. In this way, the mind is limitless. " I just basically spouted what I had read in an article. It was about "how the human mind is limitless". I read it somewhere on the Internet un my previous life.

She stared at me wide eyed, probably surprised by my analysis on human mind. It was normal to be surprised. No normal kid of my age should've such profound thinking. I wasn't sure if my act would be enough to get my hands on the books I wanted.

She composed herself. The surprised look on her face was replaced by a serious look.

"Okay. But first you'll have to answer some of my questions. I need to know, how much of a genius you are." She said in authoritative voice.

'Oh! How wrong I was to think that I could trick her by just sounding like a genius.' I mentally cursed myself.

"Sure." I replied confidently.

She clasped her hands together and rested her chin on it with a thoughtful expression.

Few seconds later, her face lit up. She might have decided the questions, which she would be asking me.

"Ahem..." She lightly coughed to get my full attention.

"My first question is : Who developed the processes allowing the mass production of ammonia for use as fertilizers and explosives?" She asked.

'Well! That's an easy one.'

"Its Fritz Haber. He was a German chemist who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1918 for his invention of the Haber–Bosch process, a method used in industry to synthesize ammonia from nitrogen gas and hydrogen gas." I answered with confidence.

She had a shocked expression on her face, clearly not expecting me to answer her in details. She hurried composed herself.

"My next question is: László Bíró sold a patent for what specific device to a French baron in 1950?" She asked, anticipating my answer.

"It was ballpoint pen."

Then the third question.

"During WWII, Alan Turing developed what machine to decode encrypted messages sent by the German military?" She asked.

"The Enigma machine."

She was again surprised by my instant answer

Then the fourth.

"What Austrian biologist discovered blood groups and developed their classification system?" She asked in a daze.

"Karl Landsteiner" Came an instant answer from me.

"What godson to Queen Elizabeth I invented the first flushing toilet in 1597?" Now she was clearly excited.

"The first modern flushable toilet was described in 1596 by Sir John Harington." I was getting bored. The questions were pretty easy.

Well! it might be easy for me, a 20 year old guy but they were pretty advanced for a nine year old kid.

She took a deep breath. She was not trying to hide her shock anymore. I had answered each of her question perfectly.

"Okay, now my last question: Born in Mesopotamia in 1136, what was name of one of the Islamic empire's greatest technical geniuses?" She asked seriously. It was a difficult one.

I thought for few seconds. She was looking at me with anticipation, clearly waiting for an answer.

"Badīʿ az-Zaman Abū l-ʿIzz ibn Ismāʿīl ibn ar-Razāz al-Jazarī. He was a Muslim polymath: a scholar, inventor, mechanical engineer, artist and mathematician. He is best known for writing The Book of Knowledge of Ingenious Mechanical Devices." I answered perfectly. The name was quite mouthful.

She started clapping which attracted everyone's attention. Her clapping was silenced by a man in his twenties wearing spectacle. He was reading a thick book. I couldn't see the title from such distance.

It was hilarious to see a librarian getting shushed by someone else.

"Ahem." I coughed lightly to get her attention.

"Mam, my books?" I asked her.

"Ah! yes, just go to the right most section. The bottom shelf has all the books you require. You can reach all the book. Still if you need any help, you can come to me." She said softly.

'Phew! That went well.' I mentally sighed.

- scene change -

At the right section of library...

There were hundreds of book just on human mind and psychology. I took out the first book, flipped some pages.

In the "Mystic Library" in my mind, a copy of the book appeared.

I repeated the process for all the books about Human mind which were available in the library.

At the end, all the copied books in my mind combined into a single books. It had no title.

I named it "The Perfectionist's Mind". (A/N: My naming sense is pretty bad.)

I flipped through the first few pages. The book had a clear and perfect way to create mindscape. It also had description of how to activate inactivated parts of brain, how to train one's mind to gain a near perfect memory, exercises to gain control over one's emotion, etc. There were no flaws listed in the book.

I decided to keep the reading at hold, for now.

As I had lot of time on my hand. I thought of copying all the books to my "Mystic library". In the web novel "Library of the heaven's Path", the protagonist only needed to touch a book to copy it, so I would be doing the same.

The second shelf from the bottom had books on human biology. I touched the first book and concentrated. A copy of the book appeared on my mind. I then repeated the same action for the whole shelf.

When I finished absorbing all the book. Just like last time, the books combined into a single book with no title.

In a similar fashion I absorbed all the books available in the library. I didn't make any noise. Some people who were reading books in the library looked at me curiously. But I ignored them.

I was only concentrating on observing the knowledge from the books. It took me an hour to finish absorbing the book.

I was very content at the result. There were books of lot of different topics. Some of the more important ones were books on Computer technology and programming, robotics, language including Latin, Egyptian, Greek etc., medication, metallurgy etc.

Then I said goodbye to the librarian and also enquired about establishing a library card. I had established a good relationship with the librarian.

I finished eating my lunch, that I had packed earlier, on my way home.

- scene change -

In my room (cupboard under the stairs)

According to the instructions in the book that was combined by the Mystic library, I was able to construct a fully functional mindscape within 3 hours. I started my mind said to be a maze, an intricate one at that. All the other mind exercises that were listed on the book boosted my memory exponentially.

At night when I was exploring all the combine books in my Mystic library I noticed a blank Purple page. I was surprised. I didn't know anything about this page. In the Web novel, there was only mention of Golden page. The protagonist gained the page when his disciple were specifically grateful to him for his guidance.

I clearly remember that I didn't take any apprentice so that meant that I shouldn't get the golden page or a similar one.

I was first hesitant to utilise the purple page but at the same time I was curious.

After considering for couple of minutes, curiosity got better of me and I decided to use it.

The minute I contacted it, a crude unadulterated power raced through my being. I could feel the stream of enchantment through each cell of my body. All the learning that I consumed from the books got engraved at the forefront of my thoughts. I could now recall anything from the books which were consolidated by the Mystic library. Fortunately I didn't lose consciousness.

'So, that means the purple page's function is to increase the magical Reserve of a person. It must be the new function that the library gained after fusing with my magical soul. Well that's a bonus.' I was very excited.

The library event created a new computer programming language which was quite advanced and with the knowledge of digital electronics and earlier I now good build Advanced Computer system myself.

I will hold the knowledge of algorithm required to construct a new AI, an advanced one at that. I was planning on making it very life like. It was unfortunate that I didn't have any access to the magical world, as Dumbledore would surely notice.

With a fully functional mindscape and a near perfect control over my emotions, I could influence the mind of weak willed people with my magic, like my relatives. At least dealing with them will be safe from now on.

What's more, other helpful thing I got from engrossing the various books, was my dominance over painting, calligraphy, acting, composing, and so on. I wouldn't need to worry about a source of income as I could now sell paintings at high price. Of course, I would be using an alias.

The next day I subtly used compulsion on my uncle and aunt, influencing them to treat me like a normal kid and buy some decent clothes. It worked perfectly. I also found out that they got a monthly fund that was probably from the trust fund my parents set up before their death. I was very furious. They got the money to take care of Harry but didn't even show a shred of kindness to him. They were so petty.

There was a clear difference the way they treated me, before and after my use of compulsion charm. The only problem was that I would have to use compulsion at a regular basis. Dudley was surprised at such sudden change in his parents attitude towards me. He didn't complain much as he was treated same as before i.e., with love.

They didn't yell at me and also didn't order me to do chores. It was quite refreshing.

My goal for that day was to get some painting supplies and draw a masterpiece or two and selling them. Although I didn't have any "eye of insight", but the skill I got from those library books was enough.

The money from selling of my art pieces, would be used to get my hands on various computer parts. With those parts I would build a high end computer. The next thing I needed to do was designing my own advanced operating system and my own AI. I didn't decide the name for it yet. But first thing I needed to do was to move to Dudley's second room. With uncle and aunt under compulsion, it wouldn't be troublesome.

To be continued...

Author Note : Well guys how was it? Please let me know in the review. And I know some of you are excited about the Artificial Intelligence Harry would build. I myself is excited about it. The next chapter will be interesting it will be about building his computer, designing his OS and creating his personal AI. The magical element will start from chapter 4. The progress seems slow because, I need to flesh out the details so that to create a solid base.

The up coming chapter "Naming my AI" will be exciting and I will try to improve my writing. I am still stuck with how to make a conversation flow naturally.

Well, good bye friends, I hope you find my story exciting.
