"Even I feel sleepy, maybe I too should rest." Nezha thought but as he gonna close the circle rock before he sleeps to seal the exit in case there was enemy outside, again he saw a torch and thought it was careless of his enemy that they did not consider the harmful quickly flammable gas.
It would be fine if they well aware of the cave but If they just discover this place it would be too dangerous. Even Nezha himself avoid using torch and change to light from magic as soon as he thought it was safe to use magic.
"The education standard in this world is too low, It was normal to avoid using something like a torch in a place like this. Aren't they afraid of explosion? It was fine with hydrogen sulfide or sulfur dioxide with its weird smell. But what's about Methane that's one was odorless. Wait!!!" Arriving at this point, Nezha suddenly remembered about something.
Nezha cast a light spell to illuminate the surrounding, he looked back at his people and found that many of them were lying down like they were sleeping.
It's true that Methane was nontoxic gas, yet Methane gas explosions were responsible for many deadly mining disasters around the world. As Methane was extremely flammable, when mixed with air it would easily cause an explosion.
But unlike Hydrogen sulfide Methane itself was nontoxic, Methane would cause asphyxia if the oxygen concentration in the air was reduced until it was too low. The reason Methane was not fame for that was the rate it became in a flammable or explosive mixture was earlier than the rate that it would lead to asphyxia.
Realizing this Nezha's heart almost stopped, he quickly laid his mother down and touching her pulse.
Her pulse although weak still beating, this relieved Nezha for a bit. But this situation was not good at all. He could produce oxygen with magic but it would only prolong the situation. Everything would be worse when they ran out of the foods.
It was not like there was no other option but Nezha thought was also under the effect of both outside and inside factors, he could not clearly think as he always did.
"We can't rest here, this is another gas called Methane. It was not as harmful as the previous ones but still enough to cause harm to us. You two help wake those that fell asleep. I will open the exit and went to observe the outside first."
"Roger that."
Nezha slowly moved the circle rock and went through the exit. The outside of the tunnel was the cave room big enough to gather at least two hundred men, it should be sealed from the outside but from the look of it, somebody just visited this place.
There were torches here and there but no signs of people here. This could mean many things, they could just discovering this place or they took a camp here.
Since Nezha did not saw any weapon lying around so he thought there was a chance that this place was gathering spot for hunters. If hunters or foresters used this place he could bargain with them and asked for help or bribe them for help.
However deep down Nezha did not believe that to be the case, even if some people really used this place as a camping spot they would give it for the army during this siege and did not come at all.
The sign of human presence was too fresh, this only means that some platoon or squad just used this place for camping.
To subjugate a squad was risky but manageable, it was not a case for a platoon though. In the worst case that it was a company than fighting was close to suicide. This did not include the experience and other factors in the count.
Nezha covertly observed his surrounding but he found nothing, so he quickly move to the cave's entrance as quietly as he could, he then heard the sound of rain and found that no one stayed to look out at the entrance.
After Nezha observed the area around the entrance of the cave he then went back to consult with his cousins and those that could provide fighting power, although he hated to admit it he also needed his father for help as every bit was valuable.
When Nezha explained the whole situation, there were only two options left; fight or surrender.
If the enemy number was not too much to handle then fight and run if the enemy number was too much to handle then surrender and find a chance to run.
They decided on the place for gathering and other methods to deal with in the case of various circumstances. Only the secret of black powder was not included in this conversation.
They walked in pair and went to the entrance of the cave, Nezha as a leader led at the front as always.
Although Nezha tried to do everything as quick as possible they still a bit too slow Nezha found himself facing the empire soldiers at the entrance.
The light was not much but he could figure that this must be at least a platoon as he heard one of the solider called someone who appeared to be their commander captain, which mean the number of enemies was at least more than hundred men.

Around a few minutes after the mysterious explosion at the top of the mountain. The alarm sound through all of the empire army for an emergency call.
"Cap! There was an emergency call from the front line!"
"Ah! It must be about that thing"
"Do you know what is it?"
"No, but is there anything else that could lead to such a call?"
"Cap, do you know what is that sounds? Is it magic? Does Akkee sect had someone of that caliber?"
"From the history, there were. But fear not as his majesty surely must predict all this before this battle?"
"Ah! you are right. Surely everything must be within his grasp."
"Anyway, we are lucky to choose this place to sleep tonight. Call everyone and make haste."
