Chapter 46: Siege at Akkee sect (11)

The patriarch then started to tell Nezha about how the ancestors first arrived at this unfamiliar world and how the sect was formed.

When they first came here, the Akkee clan ancestors were very different from the people who came to this world before. They were different but not to the point of other races, as the gate of origin at that time were put in the capable hand of the human race.

Although the people here accepted them with open arm, there was the difference in viewpoint and culture that made the Akkee sect ancestors alienated themselves with the other human not to say other races.

The former leader of the group believed that they were the more civilized people and the others were those with a lower level of civilization, yet they were weaker and that was unacceptable by the proud people. Unable to communicate and the arrogant conduct of either calling the other people with rude words like barbarians all the time only add oil to the fire, it was surprising that people knew they were swearing or badmouth at without understanding of language.

In just a year after arriving, there was a dispute between the people at the top, one side wanted to find a way to go back, the other wanted to settle and moved on with life these group gained a lot of support from the servants, and they fought inside the peaceful town.

With a weapon they brought with them form the old world destruction to the town buildings was happen, the council of that time tried to explain that fighting with magic would not be used in the town as this was the sacred place. It was around this time that the story of the fire-wielding clan with black hair and eyes started.

In the end, the warming host unable to adjust to these new people politely asked them to leave. Although, the group that wanted to stay win they had to leave.

This group of people wandered the unexplored lands and found the desired place for what they need as a thing to help them with their ambition. The mountain they found was rich in sulfur and the area around the mountain was fertile, it was easily accessed to the water source but still a bit disappointed that the place was not blessed with the mountain.

However, That was not the same thing that all of them want. The lower servant started to gather hatred and discontent, to the point that whether they survived or not were seem to be unimportant.

The long journeys also weeded out the people of the lower class until there were only the strong left, the same with the upper-class but the upper-class number was low to begin with.

Later there was civil war, the lower servants with the numerous number won but the conflict continued with the new ruling people then turned back against each other. Each side used a weapon with gunpowder called fire lance against each other without reserve and almost finished themselves by their own hand without outside interfered.

The last winner later forbid this knowledge from every people to use.

Although they were alienated the long time of journeys made them understand about his new world to a degree, and one of that was magic. Magic was real, only a few people could use magic they were people with a blessing of God, It was common knowledge in their new home.

Luckily the inner conflict lowered the number of people to the few hundred and the survivor unanimous agreed to keep the secret with them to the ground. From then onward, only the patriarch would learn about the truth and forbade all technology from any use except in the time of crisis.

By the time the winner was decided, the importance of compass and printing were obsolete as the winner who was former servant could not read and write while the compass was not that important as they were here. The method of producing paper and gunpowder were there but gunpowder was banned form use.

What's about the paper? Why was there paper in Noseth?

There were people on the losing side who ran away but their chance of survival was low and most were finished by lowly beasts, the winner did not pursue and let them left as they too did not want to cause any more bloodshed.

A few people who ran away but survived would occasionally tell about the gunpowder and other thing but with the difference in language, those things would interpret as some type of magic than technologies.

But the paper was not, its advantage was easily recognized.

Paper became widespread at a very fast speed because those that survived and got help by the native seem to know the paper producing method well, but not with other things.

The first Akkee sect patriarch, decided not to reveal about their technologies to the world. He thought that unlike magic which people believe that only a few upper-class people could boast, weapons with black powder needed nothing more than knowledge to create, it was too dangerous.

Nezha listened to this and disgusted at the first Akkee sect patriarch as the man was selfish like his biological father, but he was wrong about that.

It was true that one of the reason was to preserve the power for his descendants but that was not all.

The first patriarch was afraid of this world, unlike mainstream thinking that human was strong with both martial art and magic. He thought a human race was a weak race with many demerits compare to other races, as the human had bad eyesight, low resistance, physically weaker than many races and short lives.

A temporary winning would end if the demihuman races get hold of technologies that did not require magic yet powerful enough to compensate for their disadvantage of not able to use magic.

Thinking about what would happen if the technologies they brought from their old world could change this world. The first patriarch gained unanimous consent from other like mind people who grew tried of killing each other.

They started to practice on fire magic in the case of unforeseen circumstance as it worked well with their weapon, and using fire magic would smoothy merged them with their fame of outside perception.

With the old fame and the good understanding about the need of education and merit system compare to other, the later generation of Akkee sect soon surpassed the other in the fire magic, thus became what today Akkee sect was.

There were an invasion from outsider sometimes but the Akkee sect always prevailed and survived. However, the isolation policy to prevent the leak of technologies led to many sets back when there was a huge loss of human resources.

Especially, the late generation patriarch 2-3 centuries ago tried to mingled into the outside world even able to become one of the grandmasters and continued to pass the title from generation to generation. They succeeded but it still failed at the end, when their descendent faced with a wrong opponent.
