Artist, Writer, and Length

"Is 5 or 6 long enough?" asked the Artist curiously.

The Writer stopped writing and looked at the artist with a questioning gaze. She wondered why the artist was talking about numbers and length. Her mind immediately thought of something she shouldn't and tried really hard to maintain her face from cracking its stoic expression.

Very. Very. Hard.

But when the Writer took notice of the genuine and innocent look on Artist's face, she had an idea what the Artist was talking about. "No. It's not long enough." she then focused on her project, typing away.

The Artist hummed. "I see... How long should it be then?"

Still typing, the Writer shrugged her shoulders. "Probably 9 or 10. Longer would be better as long as it can satisfy me."

The Artist nodded and then grinned mischievously. "Satisfy you huh... How long should it be to satisfy you?"

A deep sigh escaped the Writer's lips. Even without looking at the Artist, she could tell that her flatmate was smirking like an idiot. "If it doesn't bore me within fifteen minutes." she stopped writing and faced the Artist. "Why are you even asking me the length? And please do confirm we are talking about the same 'length' here or so help me, the window would need to be replaced."

"Because I was curious to how long these so-called oneshot should be. Some said it should be 5000 words below while others said it should be 6000 words." The Artist explained with a toothy grin.

"Words. Word count. Why say five or six vaguely if it should be 5000 or more? It givesー"

"An innuendo. Yes. That was my point." The Artist laughed while the Writer groaned in disbelief.

"I should strangle you," the Writer said weakly, turning her attention back on her paper.

The Artist cackled like a mad scientist. "But you won't. Rent and bills."

"I can pay the bills easily." The Writeer glared at her chortling roommate, several ideas of how to stab her with any form of writing materials being imagined.

After the cackling subsided, the smile of the Artist turned into a teasing grin. "Tho... If we are talking about lengths and your satisfaction... How loー"

The Writer pointed at the door. "Out!"

"But we're in the livingー"

"Go to your room!" roared the Writer to which the Artist laughed at before exiting.

Before the Artist entered her room, she made a one last glance at the Writer who was still glaring yet blushing. "You know, I don't think any man can satisfy you." she winked and ran inside her room before a vase came flying and hit the wall beside the door.

"No man indeed."
