Chapter 4: 16 means answers
For the rest of the week I did not see my uncle. Also I decided not to think too hard about it as it was clear I was not going to get an answer about any of it.
Finally the day had come, it was my birthday. My 16 birthday, my answers to this strange situation. I ran down the stairs my red hair flowing behind me. When I reached the bottom my mother and uncle were waiting for me.
" Finally! I get my answers!"
"Yes indeed my sweet niece but, first shall we have breakfast. There is no need to rush, I already bought the ingredients and your mother made it."
"Fine." We sat down and ate a breakfast of ham, bacon and hashbrowns. As we finished our food my uncle spoke again.
"Now I shall tell you. Before you were born a prophecy from a great seer arose. The prophecy said that a child born on the month of January, with shining red hair and of the surname of Andree shall meet at the great tree on the day that the sun is covered and the world goes dark. Also they may not be told before the day of their 16 year and no later than the same. At first we were sure it was your father for he had red hair, was born in January and his 16 birthday was two days away. We told him of the prophecy on the said date and continued with our lives but, then you were born in January we thought it might just be a coincidence, than you grew red hair a month before he left. We were not sure who it would be so we decided unless your father died before the date it was him because, it was told days before his birthday. Now we know it is you because your dad is dead and it is to happen in two years."
"Well that was unexpected...."
"Can you bring me that knife?" I passed it to him and he called me to sit in front of him I sat and he cut my hair. "From now on you are Ross my apprentice. Meet me in the forest tomorrow. Also you will need to wear these." He passed me a pair of brown trousers and a green tunic. He said goodbye and left.
