Chapter 10: A normal day.
Training under Renji was tough. I would do my usual physical exercise followed by his training in Iiado. The only things I knew about Kenjutsu was how to swing a sword. Renji was quite dissatisfied with my Kenjutsu techniques.
"First you will learn about the basics of Iaido."
This was followed by the hard part, the cliff climbing. I was asked to climb up a snow covered cliff without any equipments or proper clothing. This was hellish during summer seasons, which were short, blizzards were not that frequent and temperature was just below freezing point of water. In the winters, I did not know how I survived in the constant blizzard, bone chilling cold and falls in a bottomless pit. During training I fell many times to my doom but Renji jumped and saved me in the nick of time every time. It took me one year worth of training to reach the top in one go. Even Renji was amazed by it.
After this torture, we would meditate and he taught me a chakra control exercise called leaf concentration technique. It is an exercise where one tires to hold a leaf on their body using chakra as a focal point. I was immediately able to hold on to the leaf on my forehead because I had a certain level of control due to learning Ninjutsu at Kodon clan but-
"No Rheo you are using too much chakra lessen it otherwise leaf will be dest-" before he could finish lead got electrocuted. Then began his rants.
"Because chakra takes time and a great deal of training to gradually build up, the key to its use is not actually having large amounts of chakra but instead being able to sufficiently control and conserve it." he explained to me.
He also enlightened me about the uses of chakra control; can be helpful in escaping or causing Genjutsu. How important it is for medical purposes and augmentation of one's own prowess.
"You can have superhuman strength and have greater general awareness using sensing techniques. You can also heal yourself."
Last part caught my attention so I enquired about it. Renji assured me that he can get someone to teach me this if my chakra control gets high enough.
"*Sigh* Since you already have large enough chakra reserves and high affinity for lightning release I might as well start teaching you Samurai Sabre Techniques."
He then unsheathed his sword and covered it with chakra dense enough to see with naked eyes. "Watch Attentively" He said and all the chakra that wrapped around the sword turned into lightning and made *chirp chirp* sound.
"Do the same as I did. You can produce lightning by increasing the high frequency vibration of chakra." he said it like it is the easiest thing in the world.
I tried to mimic him. But producing dense enough chakra was already taxing enough along with wrapping it around the sword. I failed miserably. I could not even produce sparks.
"Don't worry Rheo you have enough chakra. You need training to do these stuff. First you have to improve you core."
I also had to hunt which provided me with money. I had to pay for rent, food and taxes along with miscellaneous necessary needs and payed for the tutor and books too. I also had to train my Ninjutsu and basic Taijutsu I learned at Kodon clan. By the time I got home, I would be too exhausted to do anything other and having food.
"Life was easy at the orphanage. No doubt Wardon was so heartless at times. She had to balance a lot of things and then handle clueless and thankless brats. Superwoman!...zzzzzzzzz."
