Chapter 4: Unexpected Friends
Jaydi was lying down on the ground, she endure the pain she was feeling, grinding her teeth to surpress it.
"Now, you are going with us." He abruptly held up Jaydi holding her other uninjured hand.
"Argh! Where are you going to take me?" she struggled to spoke.
"You don't have to know"
As they surround her and escorting her out the park, Jaydi tried to break free from their grip. They only give her a punch on the stomach to stop her from struggling.
"Why are you all out here? Lifting an injured girl? What are you all up to now boys?" a familiar voice heard by Jaydi, she could hardly recognized the face but she knew the persons voice.
"Master Zen" someone spoke from them, they look like scaredy cats now, terrified in the person infront of them.
"We were just helping her sir, right?"
"Yeas sir, she tripped in her bicycle earlier"
"Is that so? Then I'll bring her there since I have some medicine to pickup from clinic"
"No sir, we can do it"
"Right sir, its a bit inconvenient for you sir"
"No, no, its fine. You boys still have things do right? You must all be home by now."
They were hesitating to give her by reasoning to Mr. Zen but in the end they gave Jaydi to him. They retreat with a look of defeat and annoyed at the same time. They thought the girl was lucky Mr. Zen arrived.
"Thank you sir" she says when they were heading to the infirmary. Mr. Zen was lifting Jaydi like a bride, which Jaydi could smell him clearly. She was hidding her face from him since she was blushing when the time she made an eye contact with their homeroom teacher.
"Not really, It was just a duty. Anyway, you're really lucky I passed that area."
They arrived at the front desk of the infirmary, where they saw Nurse Sy. She got worried when she saw Jaydi's condition. She immediately help Mr. Zen to place Jaydi on a bed.
"She's all yours now Nurse Sy since I'm not staying too long, so take care of her"
He went out the room, leaving them.
"This will be a little painful so just brace yourself" she straighten Jaydi's dislocated arm, which made her squint her eye and clench her teeth. After a little while the nurse was done dressing her wounds and giving her an arm sling.
"Thank you Nurse Sy"
"Don't mention it, I just did my job. Well, what happened? How did you end up like this?" she ask, as she return all the things she used and cleaning the area.
"I really don't have any idea, but there was just a group who wants to take me but I refused and fought back, and this happens to me."
"Do you recognized any of them?"
"No, they just said they will take me to someone. That person maybe know me to do an errand to fetch me"
"Do you have any idea who you might offended earlier before that happen?"
"No" she thought deeply, but thee only one she thought was the group of girls who approached her. But, that does not mean they would do that for the sake of an assignment. That's really childish of them.
"You should figure it out. Well, good thing Mr. Zen saw you"
"Right" she thought how they were scared when they were facing Mr. Zen. So they also have fears on the teachers.
Nurse Sy gave Jaydi a ride home to ensure she went home safe. She opened the door for Mandy and help her up.
"Thank you very much Nurse Sy"
"No probs, Bye Jay" She went back to her car and she gave Jaydi a last wave.
As she entered their house, her Mom was already home and cooking their dinner. Her mom noticed her entered the house and went upstairs. Jaydi got dressed and went down for their dinner. Her mom noticed her bruised as she sat down, but before her mother could react she talked first.
"I just tripped in a banana skin, where I got thrown. So no need to worry much."
"But, you just broke your arm, so I must worry. Are you okay with skipping your class tomorrow to rest your injury? I can call from your homeroom teacher"
"No need mom, I can still manage. This will heal up within two weeks so no need to worry about it"
"Are you sure?" Jaydi just nod at her mother.
The next day, Jaydi had a hard time on changing her cloth so her mother help her dressed up. They leave their house at the same time and separate ways for work and school.
Jaydi had no choice but to commute for now, since her bike was gone, also even if she has it she can't use it.
She arrived at their room with the sticky gaze of her classmates, they were whispering at each other. She ignored them and sat to her seat which was now vandalized.
Until their P.E. time arrived, they were gathered in the gym. Since Jaydi was injured she was excuse from the subject, which make her classmate grumbled. But their teacher shut them up.
The girls and boys was separated for the sport they played. The girls was playing volleyball, while the boys plays basketball.
She got bored watching them, when suddenly someone sat beside her.
"What are you doing here?" Jaydi recognized the person.
"I've heard you got beaten up by a group"
"Well, news sure spread so fast. Why are you telling me that now?"
"Their group was usually dormant when it comes to beat someone. Except, they got an order from their leader"
"Then who is this leader you've been talking about?" This guy sure is a gossiper, she thought.
"It's the boyfriend of one of your classmate, Ethan"
"So, you're saying?"
"You should be careful on offending someone specially in your section. Most of the guys on your section are part of a group."
Great, so everyone of her classmates were troublemakers. So, she really can't avoid it. She really hates to act like a push over, but she must do something to overcome it. They sure like a spoiled brats living in this place doing whatever they want, but why does the teacher won't do anything for it?
"Good thing, Mr. Zen was the one patroling the place."
"Huh? Patroling?"
"It is to minimized the case on injury caused by most of the student here. Every teacher was assigned to watch the whole campus for some fights and bullying."
"Then how come they won't do anything for it?"
"They were aloud to stop them, but they still cannot control the heads of the students, so they've decided to make this setup"
"Then they could over power the teacher whenever they're alone? Why is that a good solution? They might take advantage from them"
"No, of course they can't overpower the teachers since the teachers here are not ordinary like you experience in other school"
From hearing not ordinary, Jaydi understood immediately. That's why they back down when Mr. Zen approached them even they were great in numbers.
"Hey, Rave who's you have there?"
"Drey, what are you doing here?" Jaydi rolled her eyes, she had the same question when he arrived but she got caught up with the info he was saying.
"Man, you're so selfish. Is this the girl the whole campus was talking about? It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. MontBlanc" he picked her uninjured hand and kiss the back off it, which Jaydi snatched away immediately.
"Join me in, you're such a wuss Rave, you should already introduce us to her"
"Not you again Riz, I've already tell you guys already about this. She hates me"
"Then, why are do you come here then? Oh, right... I'm really sorry, how does you feel now?"
"I- Uh- Ahm, well this is getting a little awkward" she whispered to herself, not heard by them.
"That might be a little off hand. Anyway, I'm a fan of yours. You are the newest top one ranking in this school. You've beat the unbeatable record of the first ranker of this school, well maybe not yet with the athletic side but in academic part"
"What?" It was a news to hear she just beat someone, not literally beaten someone up, but academically. Who is this person they've been refering to? She continued to listened from them.
"It was a big fuss around the school, since they've been expecting he still holds the title but you've just come into picture"
"Who's this person you've been talking about?"
"It's Xian Parkinson" she whispered, since she was afraid someone might eavesdrop on them. She recalled the name, its the man who's sitting beside her in the class. No wonder he's been so cold to her.
"Did you guys come here just to chat away those things?"
"Well were not really here for that, we just want a favor to ask from you" Riz turned bashful all of a sudden. Jaydi wait for her statement, which Riz understood she's all ears to her.
"Canyoubeourtutor?" Jaydi could hardly catch up with what she just said.
"Well, its not a free tutoral but we'll pay for it" Drey joined in. Rave just face palmed at what his friends said. 'Is this what they were planning on how they would turn her to be our friend?' Rave thought.
Jaydi tought for a second before she answered.
"Well, if that's worth something, but I have my conditions. Well only having a session inside the school library and on saturdays only"
"That's great the, can we have your number?"
"No I don't have one, we'll settle the time of meet up and place" She instructed them and talked about their weak subjects.
They separated their ways when they were called by their respective sections. Jaydi gather towards her section, her classmates gave way for her. Someone bump her, when she was about to reach the line.
"Hey, watch- "She looked for the person, but her tongue got caught, it was the guy they've been talking to.
"Next time watch where you're going" He then glide away the crowd. Jaydi was left unmoved, she was too scared and at the same time conscious around that person. She feels that, she can't offend that person even it was his fault. The aura surrounding him tells her.
