After the tiring press interview and meet and greet. Chris Monteverde went back to his room to take a rest. Once inside he removed his racing suit and change back to a comfy white shirt and shorts. Before laying on his bed he picks up his phone and made a call.
"Sonny, where are you?" Sonny is his right hand man and assistant.
"Boss, I'm on my way. Be there in less than an hour."
"OK then. See you later." After ending the call, he throws himself on to the bed.
His racing team is already in Singapore. Since its already Friday and the Race is on Sunday he will start practicing before the qualifying sessions begins. He can practice as much or as little as he wants during the sessions, but their team goal is to sort out how to set up the car to achieve maximum speed on that particular track, in specific weather conditions. He and the engineer will choose suspension and aerodynamic settings, pick tires and determine optimal fueling. They will continue to communicate and tweak their strategy during the race.
Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix is scheduled at 6 pm on Sunday and will happen at Marina Bay Street Circuit. But before the final race there would be two qualifying sessions, one on Friday and the other one on Saturday. The qualifying sessions will determine the starting position of each car racing driver. The better your performance in the qualifying sessions the more advantage you will gain during the start of the final race.
The two qualifying sessions almost immediately follow the practice sessions. Friday qualifying measures one thing -- speed around a single lap. The car has to carry only enough fuel to get it around the track once. The results from Friday determine the lineup on the next day.
Saturday's fastest driver gets to sit in the pole position on Sunday, which means he starts from the very front. This has obvious advantages in any kind of race, but for Formula One, it is particularly advantageous, mainly because overtaking another car is a rarity. Therefore, his main goal is to be in the pole position (1) to have an advantage on the race day.
After an hour, a phone call woke him up.
"Boss, I'm here at the door."
"hmm." He ended the call and open the main door.
"Wait for me here, I'll get ready for the qualifying sessions." While he points at the sofa.
His assistant waited patiently and at the same time coordinates with the Technical Director [2].
When he went out of his bedroom, he is already in his racing suit. Right after Sonny finished sending his message to the Technical Director, they both head down to the race circuit [3].
His crew were already waiting for him at the race circuit. He already made a two one and a half-hour practice this morning so he is physically and mentally ready for this qualifying session.

They reached the Empress Grandstand at exactly five in the afternoon. The Empress Grandstand is located in front of the Victoria Theatre, between the thrilling turns 11 and 12. From this position, you will be able to see the cars braking to tackle the curves right in front of you before speeding up to pass through the famous Anderson-Bridge arch. When they arrive there were already few people waiting.
They were all excited and nervous at the same time. All eyes were focused at the wide screen placed in key areas of the whole racing track when the Race is about to start. When the race begins people were already cheering and you can see every hand holding their cellphones ready to capture memories of the race.
Sammie almost shouted his heart out when Chris Monteverde grapple the curves in front of them, making a swift turn 11 and 12. When the qualifying race was done he was able to secure a good spot and will give him better chances for the next qualifying session.
It was already late when they reached the hotel and since it was a very tiring day Sammie almost past out upon entering the bedroom. Good thing she is still manage to change into her pajamas before totally passing out.

Back in Marina Bay Sands Hotel room, Sonny is preparing Chris Monteverde's things for the next day qualifying session.
"You did good today Sir." he then handed him a bottle of water.
"I need to do better tomorrow." he said as he passed by him heading to his bedroom. As he was about to enter the room he turns his back
"Don't forget to lock the room when you leave." then went inside the bedroom and closed the door.
Sonny shocked his head as he watches the door close. "Hmm... he is not satisfied with his performance today" he thought. After he is done, he locked the door and left.
1. Pole Position - It’s the number one spot on the starting grid for the race.
2. Technical Director - The technical director heads up the crew of engineers, designers and R&D scientists who construct the cars. In many respects, the technical director is more important than the driver because a fast car is such a high priority in Formula One.
3.. Circuit - a racetrack for automobile races
