The day after Sagar had visited the library and had his 'Unique and Specialized Magic' class, he had the other class he was most interested in taking which was the 'Weapon Mastery I' class. Like the 'Unique and Specialized Magic' class 'Weapon Mastery I' took place during the afternoon so Sagar trained in the morning same as before. This time the class wasn't located in a actual building instead it was being held a the training grounds.
The class had it's own reserved section as to not bother other students who had come to the training ground to do their own training. What was surprising to Sagar when he arrived was that the teacher was actually there before he had most of the other students. In his other classes usually the teacher would get to class right when it was time for said class to begin, an exception would be Mr. Stoor.
This teacher wasn't alone either it seemed that he had other instructors with him probably to help out the teaching of the other students. While Sagar didn't doubt that there was someone out in the world who has a mastery over several weapons, he guessed this teacher wasn't one of them. It was either that or he found people who are just use a single weapon as they would be more familiar with it than him.
As Sagar was standing around waiting for the class to start he felt a tap on his shoulder and he turned around expecting to see Umbra as he knew she had this class as well. Sagar was correct about it being Umbra but she wasn't alone, she had a friend with her but it was someone they both knew, Klaus. Klaus had a bit of a smile on his face that was a bit mischievous probably because he saw that Sagar was a bit shocked to see him suddenly.
Thinking about this Sagar realized that him being in this class as well was probably on of the reasons why he seemed happy when departing from Talia and him from their history class earlier this week. Either way, this also allowed Sagar to see the family crest of the Ortnit family was he didn't get to have a good look at it last time. The crest had a man wielding a sword seemingly being reborn from a phoenix's flame with said phoenix's silhouette taking form behind the warrior. Overall the crest seemed to fit with what Sagar had heard about the Ortnit being so called 'Immortal Warriors'.
Looking at Umbra she was of course wearing her school uniform also accompanied by the royal family crest, the only difference was that she had her hair tied up as it was usually allowed to flow freely, well that and she was actually carrying a weapon. Students don't usually carry weapons on them unless they were going to the training grounds so Sagar had not been able to see what kind of weapon Umbra used until now. There was that and the fact that Umbra was a mage which made her a bit of an oddity in the class as the rest were warriors. Sagar was also technically included in this but as far was everyone knew he was a mage and wasn't capable of using internal energy.
Umbra's weapon of choice was a longsword of a decent length, which Sagar thought it was mainly due to her not being fully grown up but he was pretty sure that this longsword would look big on Klaus. Klaus himself was carrying around his zweihander on his shoulder's so Sagar compared the weapons a bit and while the longsword that Umbra was carrying was smaller than Klaus' zweihander Sagar wouldn't think it would be by too much. Sagar wondered if Umbra was going to use it like a two-handed weapon considering how big it was but he didn't really ask her anything about it.
Looking at Klaus, Sagar began talking, "I certainly didn't expect to see you here Klaus but maybe it should have been a given really."
Raising his head in laughter Klaus responded, "Well when I saw that we were having this class together I decided to surprise you with my appearance. I also happened to meet Umbra along the way which was nice."
Sagar figured that they've known each for a while but Umbra elaborated without him asking, "Before we came to the academy Klaus and I learned under the same master. We became as strong as we are today thanks to him."
"Did you two stop learning from his since you were coming to the academy?", Sagar asked.
Having a hesitant look on her face Umbra said, "There was that and he also left the capital after teaching Klaus and I on last lesson, but that was over a year ago and I hadn't seen or heard anything about Klaus since then. Who knew the next thing I would hear about him was someone matching him evenly in a fight and that someone was the cousin of my other friend."
Shouting out in excitement Klaus added, "And what a great fight that was, I've never fought that hard against anyone around my age before! I look forward to our next fight Sagar!"
Hearing this behemoth shouting some of the other students who were gathering at the field looked at the three in them wondering what all the shouting was about. The three ignored them and continued talking about different things until it was time for the class to begin. More students arrived at the grounds while all the instructors were still waiting around until eventually the teacher in charge of the class raised his voice.
"All right everyone, welcome to 'Weapon Mastery I' in which you will be learning not only under me but under the other instructors as well. After I finish going through my own lecture you will then separate into groups based on whatever weapon you are using. If we don't have an instructor for your specific weapon you can either find an instructor using a similar weapon or you could come to me.", the teacher continued talking for another fifteen minutes about different aspects of not only weapons but using a weapon.
The instructors an him demonstrated some things for the other students to see, one example being what to do whenever you have a disadvantage in reach with you're weapon. People like Sagar, Umbra, and Klaus either already knew about these sorts of tactics or have had some experience with fighting with this disadvantage, still learned a thing or two from the lecture provided by the teacher. After finishing the lecture the teacher told what weapon each instructor was going to be using so that the students knew who to go to.
Luckily for Sagar there was a instructor who worked with sabers so obviously Sagar was going to go over to him. There was a longsword instructor for Umbra as well but for Klaus there was none on zweihanders and he opted to go to one of the instructors going over two-handed weapons. Sagar forgets because of Klaus' usual attitude but he was actually intelligent based on his knowledge test scores so he figured Klaus will still get a good amount of information from the instructor even if it wasn't on zweihanders specifically.
When Sagar went over to the instructor for sabers some other people had already arrived already and the instructor himself had started his introduction.
"Hello everyone my name's Ian and it's pretty obvious why everyone's here for, learning more about sabers."
Hope you enjoyed the chapter.
