Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Lost Part II
I was happy yesterday, proud of myself over securing one of the famous person in designing. I had cooked dinner for my husband, have slept nice and tight with no worries weighing on my mind.
But with just a picture, everything turned upside down.
Everything was a mess.
With my picture posted in different tabloid papers, each with different words pasted from it but the thing that caught my attention was the subject.
"Film Emperor caught in a love-affair"
"CEO fights over Film Emperor"
"Another Wedding Bell?: Who would designer Eiri choose?"
The spotlight was on me, and I don't even know what really happened. I woke up by my phone blaring every second. Calls from different people, from my company, each were asking me about the situation which I didn't even understand.
I immediately walked downstairs after showering. My hair's still wet from the bath but I ignored it, instead I focus more on the situation in front of me. My husband already finished his breakfast and was sipping on his tea, after hearing of my footsteps, he looked at me.
I flinch from the anger in his eyes, my heart clench when he just look ignored me.
"Nolan….Did….Did you see the news? I swear I didn't-"
"Just stop it, rumors are not to be trusted" A sigh of relieve made its way on my mouth, but even though his words made me relieve, his eyes were a different story.
It was the same cold expression which he wore in our early marriage. I am afraid; fear bloomed in my heart the moment his eyes look at me in that same cold expression. I was about to explain when a sudden phone call interrupted me.
"Yes…..I see….I'll be there" With those words, he took his bag and was about to left when I held the sleeve of his suit.
"Where…..where are you going?" I ask hesitantly, my fingers digging deep through his sleeve.
"Business trip" With a light shrug, he left me all alone and lost into my conflicted expressions.
What do I do now? Everything's back to square one.

Going back to my company, I almost lose my composure and almost shouted at every reporter flashing their camera on my face. Looks like celebrity's have it tougher though, because the moment the same black van that Li Jun always uses, the flock of reporters immediately change and flash their camera's on him.
"Is it true that you are having an affair with Mrs. Cohen?"
"Are you and Mrs. Cohen planned to marry?"
"Is Mrs. Cohen going to divorce Mr. Cohen?"
Ridiculous questions where thrown at him, I couldn't even believe it. They say that words can kill a person, and I do think that's true.
From the way they interrogated him, I know that they just want him to fall into their trap and have another story to write on. I respect people who work hard for their job, but this, this is taking too far.
They were invading another person's life without his/her consent. Worse, they already conclude the ending before they could hear their story.
After I successfully came inside the company, eyes were on me. It aggravates me more to the point that I wanted to yell at them but I held it in. I don't want to create another story just by my actions.
"Mrs. Cohen, the boss ask you to come and meet him" Jane, the boss secretary said in a almost sympathetic voice.
Clenching my hand, I walk through the elevator and waited for it to close when a hand suddenly pushed it to open. His face is the same, but you can see deep dark circles in his eyes and the tired look in his eyes.
Guess I'm not the only one worrying over the rumor.
"I'll clean your reputation, and…..I'm sorry"
With those words, he took his hands off and left me staring at him in a loss.
Really Li Jun, could you not say it when there's a lot of audience watching us? The rumors would surely spread like a wild fire right now.
