Chapter 8: Advancement Exam
The next morning, the first thing Meng Hao did was go to the Testing Pavillion where the tests to increase your disciple status takes place. He needed to become an Outer Disciple to get access to some of the herbs and materials needed for the Ascension Spirit Pill.
To become an outer disciple Meng Hao had to create a Tier 1 Pill to become an outer disciple. Meng Hao entered the Testing Pavillion and found a girl who looked about 18 years old running to counter "Hello, I would like to take the test to become an Outer Disciple."
The girl looked over and saw that the boy that walked up to her looked very young, she smiled and said "Hello my name is Xu Ning, I will bring over an instructor to test you, the first time you do the test is free but if you fail the first test each test after that costs 2 Spirit Pills. What is your name? I have to print out an identification card for you." Meng Hao realized that Spirit Pills were the currency used in the sect and is the currency used by cultivators in general.
Meng Hao told her his name and so she walked into the backroom, she walked out with another girl and a card with his name. Xu Ning handed the card to Meng Hao and introduced the girl "This is Shao Lei, an Elite Inner Disciple and the one that will administer your advancement."
Shao Lie nodded her head and brought Meng Hao to a private room to administer the test. On their way to the private room, Meng Hao heard many furnaces explode and many groaning from others trying to advance. Meng Hao had to laugh because if he didn't have the memories from Daoist Yin-Yang he would be suffering the same way everyone else was.
Shao Lie opened the door and inside was a formula sheet, the herbs for the Pill, and a furnace. Shao Lie sat down on the seat next to the table of items and said "You may start at any moment, once you successfully created 5 Qi Condensation Pills you will be an Outer Disciple. If you can make 10 Qi Condensation Pills you will be placed as an Advanced Outer Disciple. Based on the purity of the Pills you might be able to be placed in the Elite Outer Disciple. If you are able to turn the Qi Condensation Pill to a Tier 2 Pill then you will be placed as an Advanced Inner Disciple because altering a Pill Formula is rare. Now begin!"
Meng Hao looked at the formula and he immediately spotted the flaws in the formula, he then started finding ways to reform it and in the end, he found a way to make it a Tier 3 Pill Formula just with the ingredients he has now. But he didn't want to shock Shao Lie too much so he decided to make the pill a Tier 2 Pill.
When Meng Hao used his Divine Pheniox Spirit Flame the girl was shocked to see such a young boy use such a powerful flame so easily. He gracefully inserted the ingredients and skillfully controlled the Spirit Vien below causing the Purity of the Pill to increase. Although alchemists don't need spirit veins to create pills, it is useful for increasing its purity.
Meng Hao used his flames and covered the top of the furnace causing Shao Lie to mutter "Is he better than me, this skill is something that takes years to master. Is he the reincarnation of the Alchemist God?"
Meng Hao would laugh if he heard what she said because another name for Daoist Yin-Yang is the Alchemist God. Meng Hao finished the Pills, he released his flame that was covering the top of the Cauldron and he handed them to Shao Lie.
Her mouth opened wide in shock "QI CONDENSATION PILLS, TIER 2, 100% PURITY! Are you sure your just 12 years old? I think you are lying... I am putting a request for you to be an Elite Inner Disciple. I will bring an elder to inspect these pills please wait."
After just 5 minutes Shao Lie brought back an Old Man wearing a golden robe with the number 3 on it. Meng Hao realized who it was "Greetings, 3rd Elder I didn't expect such a grand figure like yourself inspect my pills, I am quite embarrassed for you to see my Tier 2 pills."
The 3rd Elder laughed "No need to be so courteous, based on these pills within a few years of careful training your skill will probably exceed mine. The Pills you made are perfect in quantity and there are no impurities in the pills at all. It seems you have a bloodline flame that focuses on purity and your ability to increase the tier from 1 to 2 shows an amazing comprehension of Alchemy. I will bring you to your new room and get you your new robe and identification card. Congratulations on becoming the 10th Elite Disciple."
Meng Hao was shocked to hear that the 3rd Elder himself was going to lead him to his new home. Was the pill he made that amazing? Meng Hao didn't realize that he overestimated this sects ability because making a 100% Pure Pill is something only the Ancestor of the Sect was said to do. The elder wanted to make Meng Hao a Core Disciple Immediately only the 1st Elder has the ability to make someone a Core Disciple. That is the reason there are only 5 Core Disciples in the whole sect.
The 3rd Elder got Meng Hao's Elite Inner Disciple Robe and Identification Card, he then showed Meng Hao his new home. Meng Hao didn't know that Inner Disciples get their own peak. Seeing his confused face the 3rd Elder explained "The Elite Inner Disciples and Core Disciples get their own peak. The Peaks have the best purity for Spirit Viens because they are closer to the source."
Meng Hao said goodbye to the 3rd Elder when he left and sighed with join "In this secluded mountain I can cultivate and make pills without disturbance. Let me set up a Shield Formation first, then I will go to the Mission Hall to get some money."
