Chapter 12: Epilogue; Honey Trap
LUZY
I forgot something.
CAEL (V.O)
Okay, make it fast.
Luzy walks up to Eve again.
LUZY
you really are dead, huh?
Like a hunter who has found it's prey she walks around Eve's body, sizing it up from top to bottom.
LUZY (CONT'D)
Finally! Took you long enough. Man that was tiresome.
She starts leaning on the body.
LUZY(CONT'D)
Your sister was really the most beautiful person I have ever seen. Not even someone like I could compare to her. She even made me question my sexuality.
Luzy looks at Eve and smiles broadly.
LUZY (CONT'D)
Such a dazzling beauty needs to be preserved. She had to stay innocent and pure. But it was only a matter of time before she got tainted, wether it was from love or from age, her beauty wasn't forever. I couldn't accept that, you know? She was an angel, no one deserved her, not even me. So I killed her.
She stands up again, twisting around, as if she is walking in a field of flowers.
LUZY (CONT'D)
It was as if I found enlightenment. If she was dead, no one would touch her and she wouldn't age. Am I not smart? Still, I couldn't just kill her. If the law gets me, who here will spread her tales, who understands her as much as I do? Usually I would wish nothing more than to follow her to heaven, but I know, I wouldn't even land there after all this. Oh, was I trapped in the irony. But I'm willing to take the burden.
Suddenly she stops her steps and looks at the ground with malice.
LUZY (CONT'D)
Thankfully there was just the right guy for me. I just had to give him a small push and everything was then already set in stone. In the end I succeeded. But what I didn't expect was you. (beat) You just had to start looking more and more like her right? Don't you know that dead should stay dead?
Luzy looks at Eve in contempt.
LUZY (CONT'D)
Well, It didn't matter, I knew I just had to do the same thing as I did before. Just adjust a few pieces and everything will fall to my favor. Like pawns on a board. Remember this, the secret to making a plan work is having your foe cooperate with you. (beat) but don't be sad, death is only temporary, life is eternal. But to be honest, you were never really alive to begin with. We all weren't. We all aren't. Oh my darling, I hope you are having fun with your brethrens in heaven. Please don't forget me.
