Chapter 4: Beginning to realize
Next few days were quite busy as the preparations for the Sports fest were on the peak. Willy was not allowed to do the heavy tasks as his hand was still not completely healed. Mia on the other hand was loaded with work. She was also accommodating Willy. Willy was not willing to take her help since she was pushing herself too hard. But Mia was hell-bent on making sure he didn't put strain on his hand.
After practicing for hurdles race, Mia, Willy and their friends were resting in the tree shed. Jacob, a close friend of Mia and William spotted Sophia with her friends. He gasped and spoke, " What a beauty!". Everyone looked towards his line of sight. She was indeed eye catching. Even Mia was bewildered with her beauty. She said with wide eyes, " She is like a goddess." And they all started gossiping like local aunties chatting in group. What no one noticed was that Willy was still staring at Sophia.
Jacob started making fun of Mia calling her tomboy and how less girly she was. Mia was hitting him and was trying to shut his mouth. She called Willy to help her when everyone was teasing her. When she got no response from Willy, she looked up and noticed Willy was staring at something. Following his line of sight, she noticed he was staring at Sophia who was still there laughing with her friends. Mia shook him when she realized he was not listening.
Next day, when the bell rang for the next class, there was hustle and bustle in the class. Mia was talking to her friends when she noticed that the boys group including William were looking outside the class window. Curious about what they were looking, she followed their line of sight only to realize that they were looking at the Sophia's group who were in their gym clothes probably preparing for the sports event. She felt uneasy.
