Chapter 10: His POV 5
"Hey!" I greeted. I know it was just a coincidence, but I was hoping it was fate.
She couldn't answer me because she choked herself. I immediately offered her a glass of water for her to calm herself. I chuckled at the thought. She was really cute even when she was shocked.
"Easy there. Here, help yourself," she accepted it and drank it. After a few moments, she was now okay.
Even if we can just sit here without consent, still asked for her confirmation, "There are no one else sitting in this table, right? Can we also sit here?"
It would be too rude if I sit immediately. I hope she would have a good impression of me.
She finally glanced at us, and saw her eyes. It was very beautiful, which contains innocence which matched her down-to-earth appearance and personality.
After she nodded, my smile became wider.
"Great! Rin, you can just sit here and wait for me. My treat for today." I said to Rin.
I was really in a great mood that I wanted to treat him a meal. He was the one who invited my to lunch, which led us in meeting Ann.
He was a great help today. It was just right for him to be treated to lunch me.
After choosing our order, I can't wait to go back to the table, only to find out a situation where Ann's face was very red.
Before Rin could stand up to ask her again, I interrupted, "What happened?"
The moment I heard his voice, I quickly ran away. I hope they won't realize the reason.
An instant passed after I asked, Ann ran away, forgetting her bag in her chair.
I was a little bit surprised but I quickly composed myself. Looking at her figure running away, it was really cute.
"Dude, give me my food already! I'm hungry!" Rin complained.
I placed his food first before mine, and began eating.
"What happened earlier? Why did she ran away?" I asked again.
"I should be the one to ask you. What the heck happened? I was almost shocked to death by you! I'm not sure if I would be scared or happy with you smiling like that! It has been long time!" he exclaimed.
"What's wrong with smiling? Can't I just be happy?" I defended.
"Your smile looks like you have just found your first love-" after Rin realized what he said, he stopped for a moment before cursing out loud.
"Damn! Are you serious?!"
"Why wouldn't I be? It should be time for me to forget the past. I know myself that I have already moved on, but I trapped myself in the past for too long. I should be focusing what's present before it would be gone."
Rin cursed again, "Hell, you being in love is making me cringe. It has been a long time too since I have heard your words of wisdom coming out from your sweet mouth."
After that, no one talked for a few minutes, until Rin asked, "This time, are you sure?"
I sighed, "Rin, you already know me. Once I'm serious, I'm always sure. And when I'm sure, I always do my best. So, don't worry."
I saw Rin's worried face, and then he let out a helpless expression, "Do what you think what's right for you. As your best friend, I'm always here, rooting for you." He then raised his fist.
I hit it with my fist while saying, "Thanks dude."
With Rin supporting me, I can feel my luck. I hope Ann could feel my sincerity, and she would agree to be my girlfriend. Imagining the result, I was on cloud nine during the whole lunch time.
