Chapter 4: 4. AIDAN HANG

Longhui's throat had gone dry and she had difficulty breathing but that's what happens when you look at those small, hooded, sharp intense eyes staring right back at you, without batting an eye, LITERALLY. Ben suddenly grabbed both of Yuki and Longhui's hands, turned them around and she had to come back to the moment. The next time she looked at where she saw him last, he was gone. She was confused because she knew she was tipsy but could it have been to a point where she hallucinated? She knew she needed a drink before she convinced herself in head that she's delusional. She excused herself from the two and headed to the bar still thinking in her head where could he have disappeared in less than 3 seconds. She ordered for a Caprioska and tried to breathe, relax, admiring the bar when she felt a presence particularly strong on her right and cautiously looked over to see him sitting there with his glass of whiskey that glistened like liquid gold. His eyes. The same ones. She could now have a proper look of him under the yellow lights decorating the bar and oh boy, was he gorgeous! 6ft of gorgeousness! A black puffer jacket on with a crisp white tee underneath and blue denims, easy but sexy. His thick black hair brushed back in a wave with literally just a stray single flick out , his full arched eyebrows, his high bridged nose, full lips and literally the most chiselled jawline ever. He was clean shaven and the reflection from the lights danced on his skin. His eyes were dark, hooded and intense with lashes so full. It is eyes like these that make you skip a heartbeat, stop you in your step, make your knees weak and make you question your existence.

Longhui didn't realize that she had been staring right at him while her head registered every single detail until the bartender leaned almost over the bar and asked,

"Card or cash?" And went back to the machine to punch in the bill when he casually looked over while Longhui fetched her card and then when she finally found it and handed it over, he refused and said,

"Its settled, ma'am"

"wh..what do you mean?"

"Um, I mean there's no need for you to pay" The bartender responded politely.

"Yes, I get that but how? why... And before she could finish and receive an answer, the bartender was gone, just like that, through this back door which seemed like staff quarters.

As almost her reflex response, she looked at him and found him to be looking down intently at his drink for a change. And like this, she knew for a fact it was him. For a second, she thought in her head, should I go over and thank him or instead settle the bill first and then see if he wants to have a conversation, since Longhui hated favors, any kind, she made it a point to return anything and everything she was given, at least so far. In the end after contemplating for a bit, she did go over and take a seat next to him. She waited for a second or two before saying,

"Umm, hey, I am guessing it was you who...

"Yeah" he simply replied still looking down at his drink and then clinging it against longhui's glass in a subtle form of "CHEERS"

Longhui takes a sip from the glass and turns around to face the dance floor, her back leaning on a sleek railing attached to the bar and mister sat faced towards the bar and his back towards the dance floor. They were seated comfortably, sipping on their drinks silently, watching away in the distance but nothing in particular and yet both of them did not feel obliged to fill this void of silence. The noise around them didn't matter, because just this silence amongst them was so much more louder and that much comforting. This was such a first for Longhui, as it wasn't like she'd never been quite when she wanted to before but it was different this time around because it'd never been so easy going or organic on her, she never felt silently understood by someone who was hopefully on the same page as her. As comfortable as the setting was for the both of them, both knew it couldn't go on like this forever and hence were dreading the thought of this being the absolute end of the euphoria in the air. Just when Longhui's mind could go on a downward spiral regarding him, he spoke,

"Um, I am Aidan, Aidan Hang" and extended his hand for a handshake,

"Longhui" she replied and took the hand to shake it without realizing how frozen cold her palm had become because of chilly it was in there at the club and a little sweaty since she was thinking so much, yes that's one Longhui's problems, her palms tend to turn cold and wet when she thinks more than required. Just a second before their hands could secure a firm handshake, she immediately withdrew the same hand,

"Um, sorry but it's just...." she was cut off by Aidan who completely understood and said with his gaze still at the bar,

"No, I get it, it's okay, are you cold though?" his oh so manly voice now laced with slight concern which only made in him sexier, in general as a man.

"No, I am good thanks!" She said and looked at him who was now facing her, looking at her.

"Your first time here?" he asks in a matter of factly kinda way.

"Actually yes, and I am guessing you are frequent here"

"For when I am in the city, yes"

"Um, I see" and she literally did.

"Your friends seem to be having fun" he said taking one vague look over his shoulder at the dance floor behind him and then getting his attention back to Longhui the same second.

"Yep, they definitely are!!" Longhui said, spotting Ben and Yuki still at their crazy moves, she let out a laugh and ended up placing a hand on Aidan's bicep as if they were buddies from school, laughing over a joke both got but that clearly wasn't the case here.

"Oh, I am sorry, I just didn't realize, I am sorry" she said and mentally kicked herself for getting carried away by the kick she got watching both if them on the dance floor.

Aidan looked at where Longhui had placed her hand and smirked, looking away, taking a sip from his drink.

"So, what about your friends?"

"Um, they must be around, upstairs, some down here, yeah?" He casually looked around while answering and back to his drink.
